[DING!]
{The Host could check for the personal page for the new feature!]
'Oh? Is the personal page getting updated too?' Sheva raised one of his eyebrows, intrigued. 'Now, this is getting interesting…'
In his mind, the personal page in the first version of the system was the thing that let him down the most. It didn't show anything except for his rating and the knowledge card that he earned in the daily check-in. So, to hear that it got updated, he expected something different here.
The boy operated the system swiftly, going quickly to the personal page. He winced unconsciously at the information on top of that page.
Name: Adrian Sheva
Title: -
Rating: 2309 Std – 0 Rpd – 0 Bltz
'Damn, I need to play in a rapid & blitz event if I have a chance in the future.' The boy was disgusted by his own information. 'Having a 0 rating on both sections is embarrassing.'
[DING! New Mission is coming!]
The system suddenly rang, sending a notification inside his head. Sheva just crooked one of his eyebrows, not expecting the system to respond to his complaint. The boy had an idea of what kind of mission had just come, yet he still clicked the notification, reading the details of it intently.
[Mission 3: The Host is supposed to be the best chess player in the world, and it includes all the categories! Please, raise your rapid and blitz rating to a grandmaster level!]
[Requirement: 0/2500 rapid rating – 0/2500 blitz rating]
'Another troublesome mission, huh?' Sheva mused. 'Well, at least it is still in line with my purpose, so good for the system to notice that tiny detail.'
Yeah, this was an important part, as the boy clearly remembered some systems in the story that were just being… Mean, trying to force their host to do something horrible and out of their main purpose, probably just for shit and giggles. When he read it as a story, Sheva laughed his ass off, but once he himself got the system, the boy was glad it was a normal one.
'Anyway, let's see what kind of upgrade the system has for my personal interface.'
Sheva went back to the previous page, starting to scroll down to see his own personal state. To his surprise, though, it wasn't a list of the knowledge cards he received from the system anymore. No, that part was removed completely, replaced by a bunch of statistical numbers as if it were a card player from the famous football game in the world.

'Hmm… I wonder whether it is bad or not…' Sheva muttered to himself. 'If this is just like FIFA or similar games outside, the highest rating should be 99, right? System, can you tell me whether this kind of rating is bad or not?'
[DING!]
[The classification is simple. 90—99 is for super grandmaster with the rating above 2700, 80—89 is for normal grandmaster, 70—79 is for international master, 60—69 is for the FIDE master, and anything below it is for the amateur players.]
'So, my attacking level is already on the GM level, but my other stats are just at the IM level?' Sheva nodded silently. At least, this made him feel better, as there was indeed a huge gap between him and those top players outside. 'So, is there any way to improve my stats?'
[There are three ways to do so. First, through training and learning. Second, through a breakthrough against a better opponent. And lastly, through the reward of the mission.]
'Oh, so the reward could be a point to upgrade myself, huh? This is interesting…' Sheva hummed, scrolling through his personal page and reading it carefully, not wanting to miss even a single word on it. 'I wonder if I could know the other player's stats…'
[The host has to look at the other players first and says, 'Scan' to see their stats.]
'Oh?' Sheva was excited immediately. Then, he turned around at Irene and Claudia, who were still sleeping, and muttered, 'System, scan the two of them, please!'
[DING! The scan is successful!]

'Damn, this is amazing…' Sheva muttered in awe. 'So, Sister Irene's biggest strength is his time management skill, and that is probably why her rapid and blitz ratings are so amazing. However, her defense skill is questionable, definitely not matching her attacking skill. That is probably why she would crumble once her attack fails, huh?'
Meanwhile, looking at Claudia's stats, Sheva also analyzed it thoroughly.
'Her intuition is too low, only at an amateur level. Her time management is also barely scraping the FM threshold. Damn, no wonder she is bad at the lower time control section. She would need to work hard to improve those two in the future. Still… Calculation and strategy, huh? As expected of Ia, those are definitely her strengths…'
Honestly, Sheva got addicted a little bit to his newest ability. The boy also remembered that there were a few chess players who were on the same flight here, and under the disguise of him going to the washroom again, he scanned a few of them quickly. Unfortunately, to his disappointment, those players were the lowly rated ones, and they didn't have any high stats worthy of him remembering them.
'Oh, well, I could do that again once we start preparing for the Olympiad later. Maybe I could help pinpoint the others' weaknesses and help them improve so that our chance to get to the top 15 countries is bigger.' Sheva got excited over this prospect. Then, he suddenly remembered something and asked, 'System, since you have become a mainstream type just like in any other story, do you have any newbie pack or benefit for me?'
He asked in a joking tone, not expecting to get anything. However, much to the boy's surprise, the system replied immediately with a positive answer there.
[DING!]
[Host has one unopened newbie pack gift in the inventory. Do you want to unpack it?]
