Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 364: Objects Falling from the Sky

A larger vehicle was driving over the snow.

Then it wobbled across a small patch of forest and reached the plains.

In the rear compartment, Kane and the others were happily savoring the ice cream in their hands, each bite taking them to a moment of nostalgia.

This ice cream made them feel happy because it could bring back memories of joyful and fulfilling moments.

These memories even included some of the blurry scenes in Kane's mind which were normally hard to recall, let alone the emotions at that time. Yet, every taste of ice cream helped them remember, making them unable to resist.

It was indeed food that could bring brief happiness to people.

However, not long after, they felt the vehicle stop and heard words coming through the speaker in the rear compartment, telling them they had reached the destination.

Only then did Kane and the others set down their ice cream and handed the remaining half tub to Kreya to store carefully in the space equipment.

Upon disembarking, they discovered that the sky had completely darkened. Had they spent so much time in the compartment? Immersed in happiness, they had somewhat lost track of time.

However, this ice cream wasn't addictive. Kane and the others were about to forget their previous feelings, with only the memories and images that it helped them recall remaining clear.

Kane recalled the source etched in the soul's network, helping him clear up the blurry faces in his memories, allowing him to see them clearly.

Kane walked over to the spot where he had built the wooden house yesterday and began wielding Magic Power to reconstruct it.

Meanwhile, Kreya and the others stared blankly at the sky, reminiscing some of their previously blurred images with mixed emotions.

Of course.

This didn't include Lilulu.

She was currently sitting on a gigantic colorful butterfly fluttering above Kane and the others, laughter ringing out clearly.

"Wait, what's that thing?"

Longbei was originally staring at the sky with admiration, but suddenly, a flashing object was hurtling toward his position.

Upon hearing Longbei's voice, they immediately looked in that direction, seeing a meteor-like object flying towards them. They could hear faint sounds coming from within the meteor, which became clearer as it approached.

"Ahhhhhh..."

There were waves of screams. Upon careful listening, one could distinguish three different tones from three distinct voices.

As they saw where the object was landing, Kane and the others stepped aside, leaving a space.

"Boom!"

The object wrapped in heat slammed into the area they stood around, creating a deep pit and sending dust everywhere, with wisps of blue smoke rising upwards.

"Rui, you idiot, I told you not to touch it."

"What? Why am I an idiot? If you hadn't pushed me from behind, I wouldn't have touched it, so Xi is the idiot."

"How dare you call your sister an idiot!"

"You are an idiot, you are an idiot, Xi is an idiot."

"Alright, watch me pluck your feathers out."

"Okay, can you two stop arguing? Can't you see people are watching us? It's so embarrassing."

When the dust stirred up, it was immediately dispersed, revealing two small children, a boy and a girl about seven or eight years old, arguing, and eventually fighting.

If there's anything different between these children and human kids, it's that their skin is very fair, not pale but tender fair.

Both have golden eyes and white eyebrows, the boy with short pink hair and the girl with long pink hair. Their chubby faces have baby fat, making anyone who sees them exclaim how cute they are.

But the biggest difference is the pair of white wings on their back matched to their body size.

In addition to their white clothing, they have an angelic appearance.

Yet upon hearing their relentless exchange and seeing their unforgiving fight, that impression was instantly shattered.

Another person with a more mature tone was a young girl wearing a hunting outfit, with straw-yellow hair.

Aside from some dust on her face making her look a bit disheveled, she was otherwise indistinguishable from a regular human girl.

But given some accessories on her, like the mechanical arm guard on her hand, mechanical leg guard on her legs, and cogwheel on her shoes, she exuded a strong mechanical vibe.

Noticing Kane and the others' gaze, she stopped the two bickering little angels and separated them.

However, amidst the separation, the sister took the chance to flap her wings and hit the brother's head, looking smug.

The brother looked furious, but refrained from pursuing, indicating that the girl held a certain amount of authority.

After the young girl climbed out of the pit with the two little angels, she patted the dust off her body and face, and said to Kane and the others somewhat apologetically.

"I'm sorry for falling at such a moment and disturbing your camping."

Although Kane and his group remained vigilant towards the three, they didn't show it too much. After all, this dungeon, though large in area, housed many explorers, and conflicts between explorers weren't severe.

So maintaining the necessary vigilance was enough; there was no need to be overly excited.

"It's okay, but you guys..." Kane stepped forward and then pointed to the sky with his finger.

The young girl, hearing Kane's words and seeing his action, smiled awkwardly and then explained, "Above us is a floating sky island where we found a hunting target unique to that island. Unfortunately, we weren't careful and triggered a trap which caused us to fall."

In this dungeon, there was a large sky island floating in the sky, containing many unique flora and fauna. If an explorer isn't lucky enough and draws a target specific to the island, they have to ascend to catch or hunt it; if they can't fly, they have to bid the dungeon farewell.

After hearing this, Kane turned to look at Lulu on his shoulder. Upon meeting Kane's gaze, Lulu knowingly nodded and also gave a thumbs-up.

Nodding indicated that the group had no malice, and giving a thumbs-up meant their character was rather good, being quite positive.

Kane nodded, then said to the girl, "Seems you guys have a bit of bad luck, but bad luck doesn't last forever. Things should get better soon. Were any of you injured, do you need help?"

"Thank you for your kindness, but we're not injured." The young girl also knew that interacting with unfamiliar explorer groups in the dungeon wasn't wise, so she said,

"Thank you for your kindness, but we'll take our leave now."

After speaking, the girl tried to pull the two little angels away.

The angel sister said, "It's already very late, and I'm also tired, can't we camp here?"

Hearing the sister's words, her brother chimed in, "Yeah, plus this is the safest place to camp around here. Besides, aren't we too far from the Circular Restaurant by now?"

"Exactly, Funa, and since their glow isn't dark but very bright, it's fine."

Kane keenly noticed the angel sister's words, indicating that the brightness of their glow reassured them. Hence, this angel might have a skill or talent similar to Lulu's.

Hearing the words of the two little angels, Funa smiled helplessly, then turned around to speak to Kane and his group.

"No worries, you can camp here, just keep some distance."

After hearing Kane's words, Funa nodded, thanked them, then took the two angels to a nearby area and began setting up camp using equipment taken from space equipment.

Kane and his group didn't stand there watching others but instead returned to their small wooden house. Since Kane again exceeded 10 meters from it, the newly set-up wooden house had only the corner columns standing on the ground.

This forced Kane to spend magic power to rebuild it.

At this moment, Lulu suddenly appeared on Kane's shoulder, whispering into his ear.

"Kane, can Lulu go play with those people?"

"Are you sure they are safe?"

"Lulu feels they aren't unlikeable."

After hearing Lulu's words, Kane nodded and said, "Alright, go ahead. Be careful."

With a flicker, Lulu again disappeared from Kane's shoulder.

Watching Lulu head towards the little angels' camp.

Kreya came to Kane's side and asked, "You're just letting Lulu interact with those strangers?"

"It's fine. Lulu's strength is enough to ensure her own safety. Besides, it's good to make contact, isn't it? It's perfect to leave such matters to Lulu."

Thinking of Lulu's personality, Kreya smiled and didn't dwell on it further.

Just then, Kane suddenly asked, "Did you recognize the race of those two kids?"

This kind of question could only be directed at Kreya, who had knowledge of all sorts of peculiar books; Kane still hadn't delved much into this area.

Hearing Kane's question, Kreya nodded.

"Those two kids are probably from the Angel Race, a new species that appeared in this world in the epoch before last. They're very rare, seen only in books, and I've never seen them in real life until now."

Each epoch represents the appearance of a World Ring, which Kane learned later; he initially thought each epoch had a fixed duration.

However, this way of counting indeed highlights the uniqueness of this world and preserves major events of the world well, as major events always accompany the World Ring.

"This race is said to inhabit a mountain engulfed in white light. The exact location is unknown, only that the entire race are users of Holy Light, and their level of Holy Light is exceedingly high," Kreya said.

After Kreya's introduction, Kane nodded, having gained a simple understanding of the two children's appearance.

He once again marveled in his heart at the vastness of this world and the multitude of races.

And soon, a whole new batch of races will appear.
