Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 264 Furnace Castle

Frostwolf Fortress.

The winter wind carried heavy snow, sweeping everywhere in the air. Looking around, it was nearly impossible to see the surrounding buildings, only a vast white expanse.

On the road amidst the cold wind, even the shops around had barely any open.

A group of figures, wrapped in thick clothing, walked out of the cold wind.

The snowflakes could not enter their midst, helplessly swirling around them instead.

Kane and his group were heading towards the Mist Watch Station outside the city.

The blizzard today was stronger than ever.

With the shield blocking the wind, the group moved forward quickly.

Many explorers on the road had the same destination, each showing their unique skills to deal with the sudden blizzard.

Most amazingly, one exploration team summoned an Ice Element that absorbed all the blizzard in the surrounding area, creating a safe zone for them.

The snow accumulating outside the city had completely buried the roads. Each step forward required a big stride.

"I can't go on, it's impossible to walk. Wait for me a bit," Kane shouted to his teammates as he looked at the road ahead that was completely buried in snow.

Then, Magic Power surged from his hands, and he conjured a massive sled.

Of course, it only looked like a sled. The internal power source was derived from knowledge of Magic Power Machinery.

On the sled, Kane molded a seat suited to each of his teammates' sizes. Though it was made entirely of steel and somewhat uncomfortable, it would suffice for a short while.

Kane's Origin Skills always had a convenient use in dealing with various strange scenarios.

Especially after he learned Mechanical Structure knowledge.

After everyone got on, Kane held the steering wheel at the top: "Fasten your seat belts. Once you're ready, I'll start it up."

A transparent steel shield enveloped them, and as Kane maneuvered, the sled shot forward across the snow like an arrow.

"Woohoo!"

The strong pushback made Longbei cheer uncontrollably.

Soon, they arrived outside the city, approaching the Mist Watch Station in the distance.

Following Longbei's guidance, everyone began teleportation.

According to Longbei, the teleportation network from this station to his Furnace Castle was unobstructed, allowing for seamless teleportation straight to his doorstep.

After five long-distance teleportation array rituals, they arrived.

Even with Kane's Silver Constitution, he couldn't help but feel a bit dizzy.

Shaking his head and taking a moment to recover, he regained his senses.

Before he could carefully observe the scenery, the first sensation was heat.

Though it was winter here too, it was much warmer than Frostwolf Fortress, and Kane and the others were still dressed in thick winter clothing.

Nimbly removing their clothes, they stored them in their Space Equipment.

This teleportation platform was unusually not located inside the city, but on the edge of a cliff.

The mountain breeze blew gently, bringing a refreshing chill.

A high fence surrounded the edge of the cliff to prevent anyone from accidentally falling off.

The teleportation station staff were all dwarfs, standing about a meter tall, with occasional gnomes in sight.

Evidently, as Longbei mentioned, the Beer Festival was approaching here. Many outsiders were seen exiting the teleportation station.

A nearby notice board had beer festival posters pasted on it.

Longbei quickly moved to the front of the group to lead them: "Come, come, follow me. Let me introduce you to these places."

As they walked forward, he introduced the location of the Furnace Castle.

"Furnace Castle is built beside the main peak of the Iksun Mountain Range. You should be able to see how high it is here."

Ahead was a wide road carved out of the mountain wall, with a tall, dense fence along the edge near the cliff.

At the closest point inside, a track about a meter wide could be seen, with small mining carts occasionally passing by, loaded with various goods in their frames.

As they clattered past Kane and the group, a wave of beer aroma wafted through the air.

Walking at the front, Longbei squinted his eyes, raised his head, and inhaled the beer scent, a look of intoxication on his face.

"Ah~ the scent of home."

Following the road along the cliff and turning around the mountain bend, a breathtaking scene unfolded before their eyes.

On the opposite mountain peak not far away, a huge, flat platform was visible. The mountain wall, featuring a colossal door, appeared close to 30 meters tall.

The door was engraved with ancient patterns, full of signs of weathering by time.

A few dwarfs could be seen hanging from ropes descending from above as they cleaned or engraved something on the door.

It seemed they were maintaining this massive door.

Not only Kane but even Kreya and the others stood dumbfounded, completely immersed in the scene.

Seeing his teammates awestruck by the view, Longbei looked proud.

"So, how about it? The scenery in my home is pretty good, right?"

It's hard to comprehend how such huge doors were constructed on the mountainside.

The door opened a gap.

However, this gap was actually already five to six meters wide.

Diverse races were coming and going through the gap.

Continuing to follow Longbei, they moved forward.

After completing the road hewn into the mountain wall, they came to a gigantic stone bridge connecting platforms on two mountain peaks.

From the outside, the stone bridge appeared gray-white, with six massive stone pillars below it, thrusting down into the mountain top beneath.

Starting from this stone bridge, one could see quite a few dwarf guards standing on both sides, armored in steel heavy armor, their entire bodies wrapped within, standing like statues.

"I used to be one of them, the Dwarf Iron Guard of Furnace Castle."

Looking at the soldiers on both sides, Longbei said with a sigh.

As the group passed over the bridge, Longbei seemed to recognize some of his former colleagues, but did not approach to disturb them, respecting their duties.

The inherently sociable and festive-loving dwarfs found it difficult to bear the responsibilities of the Iron Guard without rigorous training.

Seriousness and precision in duty were two formidable mountains most dwarfs faced.

After this leg of the journey, Kane and the others finally arrived before the massive door.

Standing in front of this majestic and grand structure, everyone appeared extremely small.

Kane looked up carefully at this great door, involuntarily marveling at how such an architecture was built—truly a masterpiece.

Others who were also here for the first time, like Kane, stood at the city gate gazing upwards.

Nearby, the native dwarf residents walked by, occasionally glancing up and snickering at them. Such scenes were seen daily.

It's considered a local spectacle.
