In the darkness of the night, a spherical robot glided across the stone-paved roads of the Gray Rock Fortress on its wheels.
Its peculiar appearance frequently caught the attention of the patrolling soldiers nearby.
One soldier couldn't resist the urge anymore and tried to poke the little guy with his Long Spear as he passed by.
Thankfully, his companion beside him quickly stopped him with a sharp eye and swift hand.
"Do you know whose thing this is before you dare to meddle with it?"
Listening to his companion, the soldier tapped on his Helmet in confusion and asked, "Whose is it?"
"I saw him in the Divine Warrior's squad earlier. Judging by the looks of others, there must be something urgent. Would you dare disturb it? If you don't want to live, control your hands."
Hearing his companion's words, the soldier, filled with fear, nodded repeatedly.
Aside from this rookie, many had seen this robot in the Divine Warrior's squad, so no one else attempted to block it.
They simply observed from a distance with curiosity.
At this moment, its destination was precisely the command center within the fortress.
Not long ago, Kreya had received a transmission from Kane, instructing it to head to the command center.
Hence, the current scene unfolded.
Gliding smoothly on its wheels, it soon arrived in front of the command center.
With a rumble, it rolled to Kane's feet.
"Master, master, it's here!"
Seeing its arrival, Kane immediately picked it up from his side.
And spoke to the sand table in front of him.
"From here to there, plan a retreat route through these four fortresses, allowing us to gather in this region at approximately the same time."
Upon hearing Kane's words, its camera lens emitted a blue scanning laser.
The blue spectrum scanned back and forth across the entire sand table, and soon the light disappeared.
After a brief pause in Kane's arms, it projected an image identical in size to the sand table from its camera eye.
The projection slowly aligned with the sand table.
Four routes, extending from the fortresses, meandered and eventually intersected on the sand table.
"Alright, this is the route it planned out, the optimal solution it could calculate right now."
After hearing its words, Kane patted its head and praised it, "Well done, you've really helped us immensely this time."
Upon hearing Kane's praise, the wires on its head twisted around: "Hehe."
The virtual lines on the sand table were then conveniently drawn and imprinted onto the sand table by the Commander beside him.
He set it down.
Then turned to the surrounding Commanders and Sakrem and said, "Check if this route is suitable. If there are any issues, speak up promptly."
The surrounding Commanders had been carefully studying since it planned the retreat route.
Watching and thinking, clicking their tongues the whole time.
"Commander Kane's team is truly formidable! They have talents of all kinds, like they're omnipotent, truly enviable," one Commander muttered.
The others nearby, including Sakrem, nodded in deep agreement with this Commander's words.
This indeed had always been their impression of the Kane Squad.
The squad seemed to lack no strengths, capable and proficient at everything.
After a brief discussion, they confirmed the feasibility of these routes.
Seeing everyone had made up their minds, Kane said, "Then tomorrow morning, I and my teammates will disperse into your fortresses. During the retreat, we'll communicate with each other, and I hope you can trust my teammates at that time."
A bald-headed Commander quickly waved his hand, saying, "Of course, we're happy to have your help, Commander Kane. You may not know, but you hold such a high regard in the hearts of our soldiers; these issues you mention surely won't occur. Rest assured."
After hearing the Commander's words, Kane nodded.
"Then I'll take my leave, I still need to go back and prepare with my teammates."
"Alright, Commander Kane, take care."
Subsequently, Kane took its leave, bringing it back to his stone house.
Once Kane left, the Commanders of the other three fortresses stared at Sakrem.
"Sakrem, you know, our fortress's forces are the least. If you don't provide us some support, it would be quite tough for us."
Hearing this, another Commander by the side grew displeased.
"You're the least? Your squads of elite soldiers can directly confront the Demons, claiming you're the least? Do you have no shame, if support should be given, it should be for me!"
"You two, stop bickering, none of you is worse off than I am..."
And so, Sakrem watched helplessly as the three fortress Commanders before him argued.
When Kane returned to the house, Kreya had already prepared the meal, which covered the entire dining table.
Seeing Kane, Kreya said, "Come quickly, we're just waiting for you. What took you so long? You even called that thing over."
Sitting at the dining table, Kane grabbed a steak and put it on his plate, then took a bite.
Watching his teammates eating at the table.
He shared the conversation he just had with the Commanders in the command center and told everyone about the imminent Demon attack tomorrow night.
"And then?" Kreya asked, chewing on a piece of steak, "I doubt they can defend against it, right?"
"They can't possibly intend to bear down on them with the soldiers' lives, can they? From the looks of it, Sakrem doesn't seem like someone stupid enough for that," Longbei added.
"Of course not, the plan was already decided during our earlier discussion."
Kane then elaborated on the fighting retreat strategy, aiming to stall for time and preserve as much military strength as possible.
He also shared the decision to disperse into each retreating team and act as communication officers.
After hearing, Longbei nodded, "This method isn't bad at all, but why does it sound tailor-made for us?"
"Because upon hearing it, it's obvious it was Kane's idea, utilizing our characteristic of being able to communicate with each other," Kreya said.
Listening to Kreya, Kane gave her a thumbs-up.
After a brief exchange, they finished their meal, and Kane began assigning them to their respective teams.
"Kreya, you take it to the far western Gray Rock Fortress. That area's mostly plains, ideal for your style."
"Longbei, you take Cotton Candy to the easternmost Forest Fortress, as they have many long-range soldiers."
"As for me, I'll be at the central Black Stone Fortress."
"Meizike and Lilulu will head to the remaining Stone and Wood Fortress."
