Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 225 Raid on the Demon Camp

The few empty tents in this clearing were not used by Kane and the others because the space inside was extremely limited and quite uncomfortable.

Using the skill [Forest's Son], Kane placed it in the enhancement slot of the Origin Skills and directly created a two-story wooden cabin on the spot.

The soldiers patrolling around nearly stared their eyes out at this scene.

This further solidified their belief that Kane and the others were indeed Divine Gifted Warriors.

In just a week's time, Kane and the others had garnered admiration from all the soldiers within the second line of defense.

They believed that as long as they fought alongside Kane and the others, they wouldn't fail, they would be blessed, and they would obtain victory.

Unaware of the soldiers' fervent admiration towards them, Kane and the others were contentedly resting on the wooden beds inside the cabin.

Even though the recent battle wasn't intense, the sheer number of enemies still consumed some of Kane's Physical Strength and Magic Power.

While the group was casually chatting in the living room, Longbei had already taken all the layout maps from the command tent outside.

The map included some demon intelligence, such as their specific gathering locations and preferred times for launching attacks.

Generally, such work required Captain Kane to understand, but now that the cabin was made, they couldn't stray more than 10 meters from the building.

After taking the map, Kane called everyone over to the large round table in the middle, letting Youyou project the map that it had just scanned into mid-air and magnify it.

"Where should we go next to clear demons, since it's just noon now?"

Kane looked at the map and asked his teammates.

On the map projected in mid-air, each point was thoughtfully annotated to indicate its significance.

Of course, these annotations weren't originally on the map; they were added by Youyou.

Kreya and Longbei were also carefully scrutinizing the routes on the map, contemplating which places were suitable for them to quickly clear demons.

Such activities usually did not involve Lilulu, as she was playing in the living room with toys Kane had just made for her.

Honestly, due to Lilulu's presence, Kane felt his skills in creating interesting toys had greatly improved.

Consequently, even the usage techniques of Origin Skills had enhanced.

After all, if Kane didn't create these toys to divert Lilulu's attention, she would be flying around Kane and the others, asking them to play with her.

Longbei pointed to a spot on the map and said, "Why don't we go to this spot tonight; it's marked as the most frequently attacked place by demons, almost every night."

"Then we can also head to this demon camp in the afternoon and clean it out." Kreya suggested while indicating a marked camp outside the defense line on the map.

Listening to their opinions, Kane carefully observed the conditions on the map and finally had an idea in mind.

He shared the decision and destinations they had discussed with Youyou, letting it plan the route, after which everyone had a quick meal.

Before long, they were leading their warhorses out of the camp.

They mounted their horses, formed a formation, and Youyou started leading them at the front.

They were heading directly towards the outskirts of the defense line, with their primary objective being to swiftly go to a camp that they had recently reconnoitered and completely eliminate the monsters there.

Just past the outer defense line, they saw scattered Skin-Stripping Monsters and some skinless Beasts across the wasteland.

These monsters wandered the wasteland aimlessly.

Some even started biting each other.

Subsequently, they were all drawn to Kane's group, rushing over enthusiastically to send their regards.

Kane and the others certainly didn't mind their generosity, collecting the heads of these monsters one by one and acquiring some occasional battle spoils.

Riding their warhorses, they ran for about half an hour, finally arriving at their target ahead.

A simple and dilapidated camp.

Even from nearly a kilometer away from the camp, Kane and the others could still smell the distant scent of blood and some rotten odor.

The closer they got, the stronger the smell became, even affecting their judgment.

The overwhelming stench was nauseating and uncomfortable.

"This smell is so unbearable, Lilulu can't stand it anymore!"

Lilulu, hovering in mid-air, covered her nose, rolling around, her face turning bright red.

Not only her, but even Kane and the others felt uncomfortable, unable to breathe deeply.

Having no other choice, Kane summoned Magic Power and crafted custom-made gas masks for everyone.

Then he spent Magic Power again to make the masks permanent.

Silver Magic Power wouldn't significantly deplete Kane's Magic Power when creating such objects.

Kreya took the mask from Kane and examined it closely: "Does this thing have any use?"

"It can filter toxic air," Kane explained, slowly putting the mask on his head to demonstrate to everyone: "And it can also prevent us from smelling this foul odor."

Hearing Kane's explanation and watching his actions, everyone quickly put their masks on, indeed no longer smelling the stench outside.

"How does it look, am I cute, Lilulu?" Lilulu asked while wearing the gas mask, fluttering her wings as she flew around everyone.

Hehe, take a look yourself; does it look cute?

Observing everyone's expression, Lilulu instantly understood; it seemed not very cute.

How could this be unacceptable for a Little Fairy?

She then took out her Magic Wand and tapped the mask on her head.

The mask transformed in a burst of colorful light into a pink cat-head helmet with a filter.

"Heehee, isn't it cute now!"

Increasingly, there seemed to be no limit to Lilulu's Magic power.

With their gas masks on, everyone finally could breathe well, no longer affected by the intense smells from that shabby demon camp afar.

Kane and the others hid for a while on the backside of the hill, allowing Meizike to control the Eye of Magic Power to investigate first.

The whole demon camp was shabby and everything was strewn with dismembered limbs and hanging rotten flesh.

The source of the foul smell was a giant black earthen pot within the camp, with several visible gaps along its rim.

Green liquid inside the pot bubbled and surged, occasionally revealing some remnants.

There were about 20 or so lower-level demons in the camp and no mid-level demon in sight.

All other remaining creatures were fodder monsters.
