My Bottle Cosmos

Chapter 177: Human Choice

"...The montage of your life as you die, are you still unwilling to let go of your home on Earth?"

When these words fell, all the Earth scientists led by Asor and Li Wanning had extremely solemn expressions.

Clad in white coats, they stood before the projector, gazing at the ruins, as the entire civilization's think tank kept analyzing and researching.

An existence, in their dying montage?

What does that mean?

Suddenly, they thought of some terrifying possibilities.

The times have changed, and it has been discovered that the so-called time travel is a lie; they have always moved in a straight line.

"Could it be we are merely living within someone else's dying dream?"

"Are we repeating the montage of their life during the apocalypse of that civilization?"

"We've been fighting against distortions, when in reality, we have long been enduring them! We've become actors in history, mere substitutes of the era's snapshots."

Suddenly, Asor remembered the images from the dream, realizing everything at once.

"Perhaps, from the beginning we were not human at all??"

"We are merely playing out everything in human history!"

The horror of the brain in a vat, the falseness of the world, made everyone fall silent.

Deathly silence!

In that very moment, their fighting spirit and hearts were struck with cracks.

I am not me, I have long lost my true self.

Amidst everyone's unease and fear, the tall man sitting in the chair quietly scanned the center of the ruins, a majestic and ancient Consciousness Wave radiating across the whole land.

"Do you timid and self-doubting worms need me to call you that?"

His voice was cold, the pressure like howling storms, crashing waves, blurring everyone's vision, as if they couldn't see anything.

"Don't attempt to fight me; will beings inside a civilization try to battle earthquakes, storms, or space-time turbulence?"

It seemed he noticed some movements from Angelle and Ning Guochang.

The voice carried an unyielding and domineering impression.

Even just sitting there calmly imparted a feeling that there's only one True God who reigns supreme on earth and heaven.

From the moment he descended, perhaps fighting him was originally just a joke.

"Indeed, another era has passed, only this Crystal Wall comes from the homeland, right."

The man's momentum suddenly became restrained.

Without airs or pressure, like an ordinary youth found on any street, plain beyond belief.

Yet such a plain Giant instilled an unimaginable sense of tension.

This entity did not care about those strongest warriors among the ruins, suddenly looking to the Crystal Wall, watching the scenes in the Chaos.

"The convergence of this world's power barely regrouped my flesh and blood; I've truly returned."

"Time, an endless road under the sun, yet not a single return."

He suddenly recited:

"Only I remain."

Ning Guochang and Angelle, the two truly combative entities, finally came to their senses.

This existence will forever live in the world?

With this ancient entity's complete arrival, what will our world become?

"Indeed, a weakling era of youngsters lacking blood and bravery."

Nokron's gaze suddenly fell upon them:

"Fear has set in just seeing it, dreams? Who am I? Fear, despair? The meaning of life? Such laughable emotions, living in this dying montage, how tragic? You worms fear the divine, but you must know, gods too once walked the path of worms."

"Who are you??" Ning Guochang asked.

"After so much time has passed, my name has disappeared from countless worlds in this Multi-Dimensional Crystal Wall land, your hearts are like dead ash, souls lost, not worthy of knowing my name, merely a wave in history, yet you already know."

The man chuckled, "I respond when summoned, names play a very important role to us."

"Every blade of grass and every tree here is no longer from the world of yore, yet it still invokes nostalgia, because this environment is another old friend's home, but he now refuses to leave."

"But rest assured, since I am here, I will use my Fist to send him off once and for all."

His words were poignant, yet revealed many hidden pieces of information to them.

This is no longer the former world, and they are not the original race.

Ning Guochang asked again: "Will you kill us?"

Nokron smiled:

"No, you are this land's descendants, I consider myself your elder, your ancestor's friend, else I wouldn't answer so many of your questions."

"Life is the brightest flower of the Multi-Dimensional World, I've been waiting along the way for those who come after." He sat quietly, answering each question.

Ning Guochang completely confirmed that this higher-dimensional life-form, extraterrestrial entity, harbored no malice towards them:

"Then, who were we before? Were we once the Giant Race? Or a race from the moon? Or descendants of the Dinosaur Lizardmen?"

Nokron shook his head:

"I know everything, but will not reveal your original race, nor your historical context; I can only say, the world as it stands is not as bad as you might think,

that montage, even is a blessing of civilization you people could say; in under a few decades, you've traversed a path other civilizations need centuries to complete, of course, the cost is forgetting who you once were."

"Cost?" Angelle loudly asked.

"The world is balanced, everything and anything comes with a cost." Nokron said: "You are no exception; bearing blessings inevitably brings burdens, life's foremost task is reverence."

"The cost, however, is manageable for you, and these so-called decades of memories, in your future long life, are just but a childhood that shouldn't overly impact your personality; you'll gradually break free from the memory's influence, forging your own path."

"And your originally brief life of mere decades could therefore extend hundreds of years... trading a childhood memory for a resplendent future and endless life, that's definitely a win."

The dialogue happened swiftly between them, one question, one answer.

Expounding on the world's truths, and addressing various queries of this civilization.

"What shall we bear?" Ning Guochang couldn't help but ask.

Nokron said: "You've gotten the inheritance, naturally it's as human beings, to live as such, inheriting this civilization's love and regrets, as for its aspirations? To continue on its unfinished path towards higher civilization, perhaps even to kill me? If that's the case, you may try wielding a blade against me."

"No! I don't want to deal with this mess, it's an unforeseen disaster, I just want to truly become myself!"

At this moment, Angelle shouted: "My character, my memories, my dreams, all my sacrifices as a Hero in the cycles for the Human Race were false, I am merely a puppet, I want to become my true self!"

"Hmm, wanting to kill the donkey after unloading the millstone?"

Nokron said: "You have a Godfather Society, I see it very amusing, even if they're not blood relatives, Bionic Being parents still love you, clearing the path, shielding from storms, treating you as their own... yet those overgrown babies, are also saying things like that."

Everyone's faces stiffened.

Only now did they realize.

Those Bionic Being parents and children, weren't they another version of themselves and the Dream God?

They provided Bionic Being parents with false memories, character, dreams... isn't this a form of distortion in a sense?

It's acceptable for Bionic Being parents but not for themselves?

They held others to a Saint's standard, yet treated themselves as wretches.

"Humans are indeed pathetic."

"Worshiping the father when needed, abandoning when not."

The deep, dignified scolding echoed across the entire world, suddenly standing up slowly, said:

"This world is so filthy, they are unworthy even of my wait... I must cleanse this land, obliterate this era."
