"What do you want to say..."
Within the Crystal Wall Holy Coffin, an ancient Creation God who once destroyed the world quietly gazed upon the new king on the earth below.
After the Age of Gods was gone, Wadon became the first true Monarch in the era of mortals on earth.
Wadon was also someone he had seen before.
Back then, they were just a group of remaining survivors with Sylph's few pupils following her.
Average talent, at the time it puzzled him why Sylph kept such company. He didn't expect himself to have missed the mark, that he could reach this step.
"Reason?"
Tukashi uttered in a deep voice, "Back then, as a little fellow following Sylph, what's your reason to convince me?"
He was not as extreme as Elis and held his own judgment.
"I certainly have a reason."
Wadon paused briefly and then said:
"Today's era is already different from before! There is no tyranny, no heart for abuse, what exists is merely the greed inherent to humanity, that's the original Seven Sins."
Wadon shouted to the sky, "These, the lives on the Elf Land also possess."
Tukashi's expression remained cold, "But those Seven Sins are not innate.... It was the Elf Gods of the trees that forcibly imposed them upon life; that's their sin."
His expression revealed a hint of calmness, "I initially thought it wasn't a great sin, so when recreating life, I didn't eliminate these pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, lust...."
"Looking at it now, I miscalculated, perhaps should extinguish the world once more, completely eradicate the Seven Sins."
"The faster the world is extinguished, the fewer the losses."
"Indecision will instead bring continuous pain to the Abyss."
His view remains unchanged.
Completely uproot, then redevelop the era.
Hesitation will always bring eternal pain to this earth, especially since today's era is just developing, it's not too late.
Wadon suddenly fell silent.
Greed may indeed be despicable, but completely eradicating greed from human nature, is it truly good?
Recreating the race, people in future eras without greed, lust, envy... should be harmonious and loving, without lies, without selfishness.
All good and selfless people, is this really without issue?
Wadon, as a businessman, is well-traveled, yet is not versed in these deep philosophical and historical questions of human nature.
Before him, even the deity is in such a state.
This deity, filled with wisdom as he may be, lacks historical and contextual reference, even less than ordinary humans standing on the shoulders of giants with five thousand years of history, merely navigating by feeling, not knowing how to handle, not knowing what works...
Whether the Seven Sins should be dealt with remains questionable.
From this point, he saw an opportunity.
After taking a deep breath, Wadon said, "I think, the Seven Sins are humanity's dream of progress! 'Greed' in a certain sense is equivalent to 'dream'!"
Tukashi quietly watched him.
Wadon said, "Dream is also a manifestation of greed and ambition. If the Seven Sins are eliminated, humanity lacks motivation; the world is a stagnant pool... Without the Seven Sins, there are no corresponding Seven Virtues."
"What are the Seven Virtues?" Tukashi asked.
"Corresponding to the Seven Sins." Wadon spoke more fluently, even blurting out some concepts.
Lust—Chastity.
Gluttony—Temperance.
Greed—Generosity.
Sloth—Diligence.
Wrath—Patience.
Envy—Tolerance.
Pride—Humility.
After describing these things, Wadon said:
"Light and darkness coexist, when darkness disappears in the world, people have no concept of light... good and evil also rely on each other."
"When the world lacks good and evil, lust and chastity, gluttony and temperance... none of these exist, this world is a stagnant pool; I think such an Abyss is without development, bound to be butchered by the Elf Land."
To the Creation God in the sky, Wadon spoke till his mouth was dry.
These theories come from ancient to modern philosophers who continuously speculated in human thought.
Perhaps to humans on Earth, it's common, but to this world with shallow mental knowledge, it's essentially a beacon.
Sudden enlightenment.
One could say, Wadon was truly a complete traitor at this moment.
Not just distributing technology and force but also imparting spiritual thought, various analytical methods, philosophical methodologies to this civilization.
With power and thought, it's akin to giving the nouveau riche substantial heritage.
"Must good and evil oppose each other?"
Tukashi pondered for a while, though he could comprehend; he had already made a judgment, coldly spoke:
"Then prove it to me, Monarch on earth!"
"Since evil arises, then goodness must exist. If your so-called good can't eliminate this evil and decadence, I shall obliterate it with extinction."
Wadon opened his mouth, wanting to say something more.
But the other had already closed his eyes again and fell into slumber.
Wadon saw he couldn't converse further, thus could only return to his palace; at least he temporarily solved this matter, delaying it for a while.
Yet, how difficult is it to prevent the re-emergence of the era of slavery?
Knowing he himself is a capitalist, he is very aware.
300% profit can trample all law.
His orders, they absolutely won't follow.
This demon slave life, it's just too comfortable for them... Work efficiency has increased, and they can grow Demon Cores to build a strong foundation for themselves.
What strong person doesn't want to adorn themselves with these clear and pristine gems, like a nouveau riche draped in jewels?
Even if every gemstone here is drenched in blood.
It's another Slime, no—it's even more worth enslaving than a Slime!
Do I really have to tell them the dangers of this:
One by one, they all become slaves, implanted with Demon Cores, thoroughly exhausting the life and potential of every citizen of the Abyssal Land, resulting in no strong individuals emerging in the future?
Their response:
Isn't this better?
Unable to overthrow us, no new strong individuals emerging, we are enough.
The mere peasants should be ruled by us nobles.
The mere peasants are like wild grass, harvesting and grazing them as a batch, what's the harm in killing them?
"Too classic, simply too classic..." Thinking of this, even Wadon, one of the strongest capitalists in the land, had to admit his expertise.
No one cares about your future, where could they care about the grand global trends!
In front of them, again, it seems to be the Gods in Heaven, the masses suffering, and once again an Elis emerges, wielding the blade to slay the heavenly fathers!
The fathers stand in our way!
Wadon suddenly said, "The times are always so ridiculous."
"Perhaps what is called history is the process of heroes slaying Evil Dragons, and then becoming the new Evil Dragons, sitting high above awaiting new heroes..."
"Tukashi is very clever, he knows this is already history repeating itself... History in constant cycle, so he gave me this opportunity to break the cycle of destiny!"
Wadon suddenly understood some of the other's thoughts.
"But is there really a way to break out of this?" He became a bit dazed for a moment.
And on the land.
In a blink, more than half a year passed again.
The entire Abyss was entering a Golden Era, with Demon Cores as plentiful as gold.
But it was also a bloody gold rush era.
Herding,
enslaving,
hunting...
The central policies were increasingly ignored.
As if driven by an inevitable trend, the development of the era seemed destined. Demons multiplied increasingly, even exponentially increasing, to the extent that new-generations were born with fragments of Demon Cores implanted in their brains.
The whole land was caught in a demonic crazed era.
Born with a speed of thirty-three times!
Those demons lost their potential, unable to practice, absorbed by the tumors in their minds, with no new strong individuals ever emerging.
And above, the City Lords and various entities lived a life of unimaginable luxury!
"This is the gemstone I reaped today..."
"Truly splendid and colorful."
These nobles, covered entirely with various jewelry, competed in banquets, comparing the styles, colors, sizes, and brilliance of their jewels.
Utmost luxury.
Even some wealthy regional Lords, in their palaces, had multicolored Demon Cores laid out as carpets.
And finally, the people awakened.
"It's that Tyrant!"
"It's the Undead Monarch Wadon! The one who invented the Demon Core technology!"
Furious people shouted, roaring.
"Drive him out of office!"
"Drive him out of office!!"
The voices soared into the sky!
They overthrew his statue, chiseled it down, took to the streets marching, holding up signs, cursing this unprecedented Tyrant.
They even erected a new statue.
It was a beautiful and elegant female Fairy, pointing a Longsword towards the sky.
The people established the Elis Church, singing: "This is humanity's first mother, the first female on the earth, the God who wielded the blade against the father...."
"She ended the Father's divine power, she is our beloved mother..."
They formed the Elis Church, advocating for the overthrow of the regime, and sang songs:
"The evil Father blocks the path of us earthly people... The old Father is dead, we will embrace new freedom~~"
Wadon just sat quietly in the palace, watching this scene.
In his ear, suddenly came the whisper of that Holy Hall Martial God:
"See, you can do nothing... They can only pray to the deceased Elis, that former Tyrant, as a spiritual belief."
"This is the flaw of a weak Emperor ascending the throne, if you were Elis, if you were Herodotus, if you were Minis... whoever disobeys, you would simply slaughter them all, single-handedly suppressing the entire era."
"But you are nothing, without martial deterrence."
"All you can do is speak your reasoning to me, delaying the end of the world to save them, but they see you as the origin of all evil."
Wadon was silent.
Reality is exactly this cruel.
This is the price a weak Monarch Emperor must bear.
"Let them curse," Wadon said, sitting on the Emperor's throne, "I'll figure out a way to change this situation."
