PS2. Today's second update is complete.
For Kiliman, his last memory freezes in a deadly battle, a primarch and a wretched brother torn apart, two god-like forces wrestling with each other, malicious curses and taunts filling the air; his last sensation was an excruciating pain beyond tolerance, and the invasion and spread of toxins.
He painfully asked his father to save him, and his plea was met with a response, as a cold golden light embraced him...
The next second, Roboute Kiliman woke up, looking around in confusion, he found himself back in the Hall of Justice in Makulage, and even though the lighting was dim, he could still recognize the perfect figures of the Astartes, and... the Emperor standing in front of him.
"Father? Are you alright?" This was the first thought in the mind of the loyal son, his face brimming with irrepressible joy, seeing his father standing intact in front of him, Kiliman's voice trembled: "This is... so wonderful."
"Things may not be as good as you think, Roboute." The Emperor merely replied coldly, just as he was about to say something, an Imperial Guard walked in from outside: "Your Majesty, a mixed force of humans and Eldar suddenly appeared outside, should we eliminate them?"
"An alliance?" The Emperor's wise and mighty face showed some surprise.
"It's the Cadian survivors led by Saint Celestine, Dark Temple Marshal Amariqi, and Judge Grefax, along with some Eldar who call themselves the Death God Army, my Majesty." The Imperial Guard reported, leaning on a long halberd: "It seems they've formed an alliance."
"...That's fine, Roboute, I will give you a few days, you better take the time to understand what has happened in the past ten thousand years." The Emperor said coldly, glancing at Kiliman and then addressing the Imperial Guard again: "The Death God Army? ...These Eldar might be useful, we shouldn't eliminate them now, let me talk to them."
"Yes!" The Imperial Guard immediately responded, the Emperor's decree is the highest truth, they just need to execute it.
"Ten thousand years?" Roboute Kiliman was still in a daze, but the primarch quickly reacted, realizing a serious problem: "What time is it now?"
The Emperor did not answer him, the Master of Humans left directly, obviously he had other matters to attend to, his journey was of utmost secrecy, seizing the opportunity while the Dark Gods were not yet aware, he had many things to rush and accomplish.
In the Emperor's perception, an unprecedented great battle was breaking out in the Chaos Realm, the Desire Knights under Slaanesh invaded the Garden of Nurgle, the timing of this raid was perfect: the dormant demons of the Plague God had just launched a massive operation, heading to raid Khorne's Iron Fire Demon Castle, while Khorne's Bloodthirsty Demon Army had just invaded Tzeentch's crystal labyrinth, at this juncture, the Chaos Four Gods were fighting fiercely, under his careful disguise, the Chaos Four Gods, focused on their infighting, had not yet noticed the resurrection of the Master of Humans.
A fragile, difficult ceasefire agreement was reached between the Emperor and the Eldar's Death God, this negotiation relieved Judge Grefax who had independently agreed to an alliance with the Eldar, the Eldar got what they wanted and agreed with the Emperor to assist Kiliman in a series of upcoming actions.
"We now proceed to Caliban immediately!" The ships of the Imperial Guard left Makulage, leaving behind the newly awakened Kiliman.
About a week later, Roboute Kiliman sat heavily back on the throne, moments ago, he had dismissed all attendants and advisors, even the Glory Guard was ordered to wait outside the Sanctuary.
"So, it's been thousands of years." The Primarch of the Ultimate Warrior, the Master of Ultramar, sat back on his throne in pain.
The physical pain was healed by the Emperor, but the wound in his heart grew larger and larger.
He desperately hoped his father would return to his side, or there could be a brother to chat with him.
"There is still hope, father has returned." Kiliman murmured to himself, courage returned to the primarch, so dark, so desperate, the current state of his father's empire could not defeat him.
Because father has returned, in this most desperate and darkest moment, the Master of Humans finally returns.
He also learned the fruitful achievements in Belisarius Kaur's research institute under Mars' surface. All this convinced him that a more glorious tomorrow remained hopeful to be realized, the empire still had hope for rebirth.
Under his father's guidance, humanity would unite under the Emperor's banner again, and he would continue fighting as the Primarch of the Ultimate Warrior.
"Just... I'm the only one left, I'm the only one left." Kiliman gritted his teeth and sighed softly, the primarch had realized that all the former primarchs had either disappeared or fallen, and now only he, a single primarch, was awake in the entire Human Empire.
Thousands of years later, he had become the last surviving primarch.
"Who told you that, Kiliman? Who told you that you were the only one left?" At this moment, a tall black figure walked into the Holy Hall of the Ultimate Warrior from the door.
He held a lion helmet, his noble face remained as pure and immaculate as ten thousand years ago, golden parted long hair hung down his cheeks, and his black power armor was just as spotless as ten thousand years ago, his expression as cold as the Emperor's, only when looking at Kiliman's embarrassing state did this unexpected visitor's face show a bit of disdain: "Afraid?"
"Leon! My brother!!!" Hearing this familiar voice, Kiliman jerked his head up, his voice full of disbelief, but when he confirmed the figure before him, joy and sorrow filled his heart, his face remained calm, only the tears at the corners of his eyes and the trembling hands betrayed him.
He quickly rushed to the uninvited guest, joyfully examining his brother, he suddenly didn't know how to express his passion, after hesitating repeatedly, the Master of the Ultimate Warrior gave the newcomer a warm hug, though they were separated by power armor.
"..." The newly awakened First Legion primarch was somewhat overwhelmed by Kiliman's enthusiastic hug, or rather, he didn't quite know how to express his feelings, considering the person in front of him, like himself, had also been asleep for ten thousand years, Leon El Johnson finally reluctantly extended a hand and awkwardly patted Kiliman's back, indicating him to let go.
The Emperor stood outside, watching his two sons embrace. A trace of emotion flickered in the eyes of the Master of Humans at last—a hint of regret. His proud creations of the past now left only two under his command; the rest had either fallen or disappeared. Some Primarchs he knew where they were, but could not retrieve or summon them back at the moment, while others even he did not know where they had gone.
Then, the three of them returned to the secret chamber to discuss their next plan.
The Emperor declined Kiliman's suggestion to sit down, telling his son he disliked sitting.
"There is some news I must share with you—you have a new brother," the Emperor said as he stood at the head, his gaze like a sharp sword shooting into the distance. "He is Macado's final gift to me and the key to my resurgence. Without his efforts, my revival would not have been possible."
"He is my secret weapon against Chaos and the only hope for redeeming the fallen Primarchs. With my help, he can reverse corruption and restore those fallen Primarchs to their former selves…"
"Remember, his existence is top-secret, known only to the three of us. If the opportunity arises, you will meet him," the Emperor calmly declared. "The Galaxy is burning, and now it is only us standing in the darkness."
Hearing this, both Kiliman and Zhuangsen had flames of hope igniting in their eyes. Their fallen brothers had always been a source of pain for them. "What should we do, Father?"
"Kiliman, you only need to announce your resurgence. In the endless darkness, the awakening of a Primarch is too important for the Empire. The awakened son will embark on an expedition to Terra to meet his father, who still sits decaying on the throne," the Emperor first instructed Kiliman. "Your resurgence will draw the attention of Chaos, and some fool will undoubtedly come knocking."
"Zhuangsen, take your men and come with me to Armageddon," the Emperor raised his head, his face showing only coldness. "Let us go together to retrieve a fallen Primarch."
"One who, when I first found him, was already severely corrupted—your brother."
"All is not lost; all aliens, heretics, demons shall turn to ash before us! The universe shall return to peace, evil only to destruction! Humanity shall stand atop the tide of blood once more."
The Emperor's black hair flowed in the air without wind, his holy radiance shining all the brighter, nearly filling the entire Holy Hall. After enduring eleven thousand years of incessant battles against the demons of the Subspace and continuously receiving sacrifices from spiritualists, the strength of the Master of Humans had become more terrifying than ever before.
Kiliman and Zhuangsen both stood up.
"The Milky Way Galaxy belongs to the Human Empire!" This was Kiliman's heartfelt roar.
"Let us continue the unfinished Great Crusade, Father!" Zhuangsen also expressed his determination.
"Let's begin!"
And so, just as the Human Empire was about to fall into its darkest and most dreadful crisis, a message full of hope was spread to every corner of the Milky Way Galaxy.
The Primarch of the Thirteenth Legion, Roboute Kiliman, announced his return.
At the same time, this returning son of the gods personally declared his imminent expedition to Terra.
The new era has begun.
......
It seems some momentous event is indeed occurring in this world!
Laine, walking along the mountain path, thought to himself. This state had persisted for many days.
He had begun to vaguely guess what was happening.
"Lord Laine, we are about to reach the border of Arden Forest. Do you see that hill ahead?" Holy Grail Knight Jules pointed to a hill ahead and spoke to Laine.
After nearly ten days of trekking, the army had entered the borders of Brittania.
"According to the plan, you will first proceed to the Royal Palace in Kulona, where His Majesty King Richard the Knight will confer titles upon you. Then you shall head to the southern Kakasong Duchy for baptism at the Lady of the Lake Cathedral. We will escort you to Fairy Lake to meet Her Highness the Lake God Witch," Jules laid out the planned itinerary. "She will arrange your position."
Laine nodded, pondering. This arrangement clearly displayed the characteristics of the Kingdom of Brittania—a nation with political dual centers at the north and south ends. The capital, where the king resided, was located in the northern part of the kingdom, while the Lake Fairy Cathedral was situated in the south, resulting in the division of power and the formation of two centers.
The army advanced across the plains, when suddenly, a noise came from the front.
"Beastmen! It's Beastmen!" A cluster of black dots appeared at the edge of the plains.
Holy Grail Knight Jules raised his cavalry lance: "Prepare for battle, knights!"
