Chapter 815: Opening for Business
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Zhao Yao spent the whole day using his superpowers to rebuild and renovate most of the destroyed Cat Wonderland. It would be open for business again the next day.
“Operating Cat Wonderland, selling more catmint, completing more missions, and collecting more meteorite fragments.” Zhao Yao sat on the executive chair in his office as he formulated a plan in his mind. Suddenly, Dust Ball burst in hurriedly.
“What’s wrong, Dust Ball?”
Dust Ball held a huge bowl of catmint in her mouth as she exclaimed anxiously, “Zhao Yao! Zhao Yao! The Extradimensional Belly is being used to lock up that idiot, Project X. Now I have no place to plant my catmint! What should we do? Dust Ball Catmint is about to run out of stock!”
Zhao Yao nodded and replied, “I thought about this problem as well. I have a solution.”
Dust Ball stared at Zhao Yao in admiration as she asked, “What solution do you have?”
Zhao Yao took out a bag of catmint from below his desk and told her, “You will sell this from now on.”
Dust Ball glanced at the bag of catmint and immediately said, “This is not our catmint.”
“Yeah. I bought this from Taobao.”
Dust Ball was shocked. “You! You want me to sell fake goods?”
“How is this fake? This is catmint as well.”
Dust Ball replied, “But… but this is the catmint grown in the Extradimensional Belly. It wasn’t grown with the Light of Creation. The taste will be different.”
“Just say you guys upgraded the formula,” Zhao Yao casually replied. “If it doesn’t work add some soil and grass. Anyway, we’re the only ones licensed to sell catmint in Jianghai. Does it matter what kind of catmint we sell?”
Dust Ball shook her head immediately. “No! I won’t sell counterfeit goods! This is against my professional conduct!”
Zhao Yao searched under his desk again an took out a watermelon knife and threw it in front of Dust Ball.
“Don’t think I will be scared just because of a knife!!” Dust Ball pointed accusingly at the counterfeit catmint and said, “I will sell this catmint not because I’m afraid of this knife of yours but because I’m worried that the cats in Jianghai won’t be able to enjoy catmint if I stop selling it.”
“Humph!” After saying her piece, Dust Ball picked up the bag of counterfeit catmint and strode off.
Zhao Yao reminded her, “Don’t forget to change the packaging.”
“Got it.”
Zhao Yao could not help but add, “Add some nutritional paste, canned cat food or stuff like that so that it won’t taste the same as ordinary catmint.”
“So annoying. Stop telling me how to make catmint. I’ll do it my own way.”
Zhao Yao shook his head as he watched Dust Ball leave. “This girl. The older she gets, the more disobedient she becomes.” He unlocked his phone and decided to browse through the news and the Cat Web.
Due to the appearance of the gigantic Fortress Nightmare, it was impossible to cover up the incident at Jianghai’s Cat Wonderland. There were already countless netizens discussing the issue of supercats.
This time, Uncle Ho and his men did not avidly remove posts or censor discussions about the topic. It was evident that they wanted the citizens to accept the reality of the existence of supercats.
Afterall, two years had passed since the awakening of supercats. More and more people in society had become aware of the existence of supercats. With such a long buffer period, it was enough for the public to slowly accept this shocking piece of news.
On the Cat Web, more theories came up regarding this latest incident. However, as Project X’s profile was kept top secret and confidential, normal apostles and supercats did not have detailed information on Project X. As such, all sorts of rumors were abound in the superpower realm.
However, the incident this time had occurred at the Cat Wonderland. Naturally, the boss of Cat Wonderland, the Headless Horseman, would be implicated in some way.
That huge, black shadow of a fortress and the countless prison cats that charged into the Cat Wonderland that day added clout and terror to the Headless Horseman’s name. Not only that, it cloaked his identity in a mysterious light.
“How strong is the Headless Horseman exactly?”
“Has the government secretly acknowledged the Headless Horseman’s presence and clout?”
“This is my ideal list of superpower names! The Headless Horseman would rank fifth at most!”
Zhao Yao smirked as he scrolled through the Cat Web, looking through all kinds of posts trying to guess how powerful the Headless Horseman was and which apostle was more powerful. He was secretly pleased in being the hot topic of discussion on the web.
After browsing the internet for the whole day till, Zhao Yao stood up and stretched his back before heading for the rooftop of the Cat Wonderland.
“Business officially resumes tomorrow. Our preparations are almost done so everyone can go back and rest for today,” Zhao Yao instructed as he thought, “Today marks the end of the month as well. I should go back to the Cat Island later to add experience points and draw some rewards.”
After a few minutes, Matcha, Elizabeth, Dust Ball, and the other supercats gathered on the rooftop one by one, as if they were waiting for something.
Shortly after, a huge shadow descended from the sky as it flapped its wings, slowly landing on the rooftop.
It was the Tri-headed Golden Dragon that Cat Sage turned into. However, the Tri-headed Golden Dragon was wrapped in layers of black cloth at that moment to cover its blinding golden scales.
Next, the supercats lined up to sit on the dragon’s back one by one, as if they were boarding a shuttle bus.
In fact, it was technically a shuttle service as the Extradimensional Belly was now sealed off and unpassable to contain Project X. Instead, Zhao Yao allowed Cat Sage to turn into the Tri-headed Golden Dragon to fetch the supercats to and from work every night. Zhao Yao himself also sat on the Tri-headed Golden Dragon to return to Cat Island.
Once they returned to Cat Island, Milk Tea and Yellow Mud could be seen waiting from afar. When they saw the Tri-headed Golden Dragon landing, they immediately ran up and jumped onto the dragon’s back to hug Matcha.
“Brother Matcha, Brother Matcha!” Milk Tea asked worriedly, “Are you guys okay? I was so worried!”
“Don’t hug me!” Matcha screamed, scaring Milk Tea away. “What’s wrong, Brother Matcha?”
“You touched my wounds,” Matcha pointed at his broken nail and said, “This is my battle scar from my duel with Project X. That guy snapped off my nail just like that. Luckily I reacted quickly and bit the fur on his chest to make him retreat.”
Matcha said in a serious tone, “Project X is one formidable cat. He’s the strongest opponent I have met in my whole life… Ahhhh!!!!” He screamed as he tumbled down from the dragon’s back.
“Get lost.” Elizabeth kicked Matcha off with her leg as she smiled at Milk Tea and said, “Milk Tea, remember, you can only believe half a sentence out of the 10 Matcha says. You should listen to less of his b*llshit from now on.”
Milk Tea stared at Elizabeth indignantly and retorted like a devoted fanboy, “I don’t want to hear you badmouth Brother Matcha. Brother Matcha won’t lie to me!” As he said that, Milk Tea went on to chase after Matcha, who had tumbled off.
Elizabeth shook her head. “This foolish child.”
“Let’s go, let’s go!” Rice Cake clambered down the dragon back gleefully, “Time to play some mobile games!”
Cheese followed closely behind her as he shouted, “Slowly, Rice Cake, be careful not to fall while running.”
Ares climbed down slowly, carrying the freezer containing Sphynx cat’s body and his memorial photo. Using the -60 degrees temperature of the Deflective Field, Ares was able to preserve Sphynx cat’s dead body in perfect condition.
Lucifer and Fūjin, together with their underlings, followed behind Ares from a distance. They stared at Ares and the freezer on his back in astonishment. They felt as if a chilling breeze had passed through them.
