[Would you like to view the journal?]Yes[Day 8]I’m definitely stranded.Literally. This isn’t a dream or a hallucination. Somehow I’ve fallen into La Vida Blue—and I’ve even become one of the monsters. Sure, no dream this vivid and unbreakable could exist.Above all, I’ve been ravenous since the fifth day. A hunger so deep it torments the mind as well as the body. The sensation is so intense I can’t deny this is reality. The problem is that I’m stuck in a barren wasteland with nothing edible in sight. What if I starve to death? If I die, will I exit the game? I thought about it for a moment—but something inside me knew that wouldn’t happen. An inexplicable certainty, as if I’d known something before I fell into the game.So I have to survive here. I don’t want to die. What can I do? While I was racking my brain……something caught my nose. Not a smell of food so much as something that could be eaten. My instincts sharpened like a hunting beast’s. I crept toward the source, soundlessly following my nose. Then damn it! All I found was a disgusting monster carapace. Could it be? The “food” my cursed sense of smell detected was an Anomaly! I recoiled in horror, saliva gathering in my mouth—it was so creepy I bolted away as fast as I could. What on earth has happened to me? My shock fed my hunger, and my hunger deepened my shock.[Day 10]I’m hungry.I’ve been huddling all day to conserve energy. I tried eating grass, but it did nothing for my hunger. There hardly seems to be grass enough to chew—how much would I even have to swallow? What can I do?[Day 12]Still hungry.I think I’ve swallowed a bucketful of sand by now. And I’m still starving.[Day 18]Hungry.My mind keeps flickering in and out of focus. I shove anything I can into my mouth, but damn it—That smell of something delicious… smell… ㅇㄹ휘ㅣㅣ자ㅣ드ㅏ;;ㅍKirrung-...[Day 21]Ti—tle. Title. Right. I can’t spin a web of lies in a living mouth. It’s nice that I can always check which day it is. Thanks to that, I realized it’s been three weeks since I entered this insane game. Three weeks—21 days; 21×24 is 504. Over five hundred hours is no short stretch.Over that time, I’ve come to accept my situation. Like it or not, I exist here as a monster. And to be honest, I don’t want to die—no matter what.I couldn’t withstand the starvation. One moment of clarity, and I found myself tearing into an Anomaly. The moment my teeth sank into its tough, rank hide, saliva flooded my mouth and my eyes rolled back. That wild, primal meat smell—the meat filling my mouth… yes, meat!It must have been °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° quite a feast once; I devoured it all. Not a scrap left, not even a claw. It wasn’t exactly delicious, but it was edible. When I finished, something inside me snapped free. I finally admitted it: I really have turned into an in-game monster. And to survive, I have to try anything. Since then, I’ve been turning over every idea in my head, trying to fully understand my situation…Kirrung-Let’s see…The place I fell into—La Vida Blue—is simultaneously brilliant and garbage. It’s brilliant because every nonessential element is implemented; it’s garbage because its story and setting have glaring holes.Fortunate or not, I used to love this game. I knew nearly everything about it, though I can’t recall anything before falling here.La Vida Blue is a horror combat saga set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia. The protagonist, Jin Muhae, discovers his deceased father’s heirlooms and launches into Episode 1: a sprawling intro of some 150 hours of gameplay.“Boss Gil… you knew my father did this research?”Jin Muhae, who’d never held a steady job because of his family’s criminal stigma, realized the prejudice stemmed from his father’s studies. From that moment, he followed his father’s footsteps into the underworld, witnessing firsthand the corruption and injustice of human society.“…that you could’ve stopped the Crystal Blue and Anomaly generation?”His father’s research offered a way to reclaim the world beyond the domes—restoring Earth to a place where the highest predator was human once more. To those born and raised under the dome, it was a dream. Yet at the last moment, his father’s plan was sunk by betrayal from his closest ally.“I’m sorry, but the rulers of each city… they don’t want the system overturned.”Unwilling to relinquish hope, his father left his research for Jin Muhae to continue once he’d come of age. In the final episode, Jin Muhae fulfills his father’s legacy—an epic vision of blue particles scattering across the globe. It’s my favorite scene in the game: his hopeful face anticipating the future. So this must be the real La Vida Blue world. By rights, I should wait for that moment. But—“Grrr—Kieeng…”Damn. What do I do? Then it hit me: I’m an Anomaly. The same kind that disappears with the Crystal Blue at the ending. From that moment, I grasped what I had to do: find the game’s hero, Jin Muhae, and thwart his progress if I want to survive…!Ding—![Quests]Main QuestTutorial (In Progress)According to the system, I’m still in the Tutorial. The earliest stage to learn the controls and adapt. I guess only when the Tutorial ends do you go to Goryeo City. Until then, I’ll have to bide my time tearing into Anomalies and beasts out here in the wilderness—RustleKirrung…Hm… I don’t know. I just hope the Tutorial clears soon. My appetite surges instinctively whenever an Anomaly is nearby. My mouth waters. I don’t know how long I can keep my wits about me....[Day 55]How long can I stay sane?Well…“Huaaa…”A contented sigh escaped Joo-o’s red lips. Half closing his eyes, he hummed a strange tune, lifting the corners of his mouth. His stomach was full. That empty feeling was gone, and with it the chill. And that tender, pale meat—so savory, and the hot, umami broth. It was more delicious than any meat I’d eaten so far. It didn’t thrash and flail like before, and using utensils again felt so novel it was almost emotional. After so long—so, so long—I felt lightheaded with happiness.“I want more.”Joo-o murmured, bouncing his legs. The mattress creaked under him.“Hey…”Muhae, stepping out of the bathroom and shaking wet hair from his face, froze at the sound. He even pinched his ear, worried he’d misheard—surely Joo-o couldn’t have just ordered another six plates of boiled meat.Beep. Muhae tapped his wristwatch: his balance was nearly gone.“I’m screwed.”He frowned, wrinkles forming across his smooth brow.Name: Joo-oAge: 22Place of origin: unknown, probably not Goryeo CityNo family records, no full name recalled, no assets whatsoeverThe little info he’d scraped together was worthless—worth less than two bowls of noodles. If he’d known, he should have threatened blackmail instead of buying food. Muhae pinched the bridge of his nose, regretting briefly.“Don’t mention being hungry again for a while. You ate two days’ worth just now.”“My stomach… it empties fast.”Like a growing kid, he said. Muhae closed and opened his eyes, then turned away as if to ignore him.“Jin Muhae.”“Don’t call me that.”“Jin Muhae.”“That doctor must have told you my name.”“No.”Muhae shot him a frosty look, as if warning him not to lie. Yet Joo-o just giggled and kept murmuring the name.He couldn’t help it. Jin Muhae—it was my name after all. The damn game’s protagonist, Jin Muhae. Joo-o’s heart pounded.“Jin Muhae…”Laughing with eyes almost shut, Joo-o flopped back onto the bed. He’d endured so long just to meet him. The wait was torture. Ironically, Joo-o only realized this guy was the protagonist once his belly was full. He’d been half-starved and half out of his mind for years.“Now whenever you’re hungry, you’ll just reach out, huh?”“You talk nonsense.”And yet, the fact that he’d found him showed some trace of past self—reason—still remained. Even after a lifetime of eating, sleeping, fighting, and repeating. Then Joo-o recalled La Vida Blue’s lore—what he had to do, the changes in the system. Finally, the story began. It etched itself clearly in his mind.“…What kind of conversation am I supposed to have with that guy?”Muhae draped his shirt over his bare chest, immediately covering scars and bruises. Joo-o peered up, lips twitching into a joyful grin.Joo-o wasn’t the same as before. A powerful instinct often overrode his reason, yet somehow a glimmer of awareness remained.“Jin Muhae.”Joo-o remembered how Muhae’s eyes had shifted from cold to resigned whenever he replied oddly. He felt it—this guy probably won’t throw him out after all.“Jin Muhae.”He tapped the flickering clock beside him and repeated the name once more.Whoosh. Muhae exhaled, turned his back—and Joo-o felt strangely glad.WELCOME TO LA VIDA :)~Year 15, Day 117~[Quests]Main QuestTutorial (Completed)CHAPTER 1☞ Outsider of the City (In Progress)At last, the quest status changed. After what felt like an eternity…“Huh. Jin Muhae.”He had finally escaped the Tutorial.
