Boooom!!!!
Booommm!!!
Several heaven and earth shattering attacks reverberated throughout the icy fields.
Attacks were spammed endlessly without reservations, each opponent attacking with the intent to claim the opponent's life.
Earth, wind, fire, metal, lightning, wood, gravity, poison, sound, etc.
Shhhsssssrrrrrhhh!!
The societies were at each other's throats, the members of the Atrexia and Sword Tribunal Societies engaged in lethal battles.
Ravines appeared, the void trembled, the icy fields parted, giving way to cold water teeming beneath their surfaces.
Shockwaves rippled outwards — attacks so cataclysmic and blinding that the viewers occasionally had their vision blinded from time to time.
In a region of the icy plane, a dark-haired, pale white-skinned figure donned in a black long coat, blue jeans, and white sneakers floated — and was circumvented by five other society presidents from time to time.
Their figures were akin to flashes of light, a plethora of colors representing the use of several affinities flickering through the skies from time to time.
Whossh!!
Each launched lethal, calculated attacks towards him.
Every society president was trying to kill Kailen first.
However, they were not working as a team.
They were working from an individual standpoint — courtesy of him leaving them with no choice but to dissolve the alliance.
However, Kailen's figure would disappear and reappear at a different place before the attacks would land.
It was as if he was toying with them.
Kailen was simply evading their attacks with umbral replacement, appearing at different places from time to time before their attacks even reached him.
This was a skill that had allowed him to escape from galactic-level lifeforms — it was no surprise that he was toying with them at the moment.
In one moment he'd appear above a mountain peak, then before an attack would reach him, he'd appear above a frozen forest.
They utilised invisibility runes, amongst others, to attempt and reach him, but it was as if Kailen had eyes everywhere.
He'd simply disappear before the attacks reached him.
Kailen was utilizing his elemental mirroring to read the flow of universe energy in their beings at the same time.
Even if they used invisibility runes, he could still trace their presence thanks to their universe energy pathways.
Kailen suddenly halted, gaze directed towards them.
"Why don't you guys focus on killing each other first, and the last man standing will get rid of me, err?" Kailen said mockingly, adopting the most feigned innocent and righteous expression as much as possible.
Ignoring his taunts, the society presidents stared at one another.
Was this fucker looking down on them?
But frankly, this battle was going nowhere.
Their uncoordinated attacks were not helping.
It looked like they had no choice but to ally together once more.
They had come to a silent decision through thought transmission.
They had their factions backing them.
With their backgrounds, if there was no literal proof that they were Vimodial contractors, what was the worst that could happen?
Loss of reputation, rumors, loss of some opportunities — scratch that.
Some stupid interrogations — torture even — to try and let them spill some beans that didn't exist? That's if the powerhouses backing them decided to leave them to their fates, which they deemed highly impossible.
The ideal thing was to keep the temporal alliance disbanded... but, they had no choice now.
The only way to kill Kailen Darkhaven was to band together and kill him.
If they could get their hands on the winner's reward, why would they care about such things?
Even Bryce Darkhaven could only agree with the plan.
For now, they just wanted to focus on banding together to kill Kailen Darkhaven.
With the way things were going, it was either that or they'd lose the society wars and the winner's reward — the ability for the winning society to cultivate in the academy energy vault.
This was an opportunity that could not be passed up.
Each one of them knew that they had to deal with this bastard before they could focus on competing with one another.
They had no choice but to ally in a brief moment to get rid of this fellow.
They'd deal with the repercussions later.
Just when they were about to launch various attacks towards Kailen Darkhaven, they felt their universe energy reserves grow suddenly weak.
"About time." Kailen's calm gaze landed on them.
In a moment, all the universe's energy in their beings drained from them at an astonishing pace.
Then, extreme pain assaulted them.
The pain was unlike anything they had ever felt before.
It was as if several pincers were digging through their beings.
Putuuuuu!!!
The society presidents fell down on the icy ground.
They felt like fish taken out of the ocean — suffocating on dry ground.
Not only did they feel extremely weak like mundane people, they felt something else — the threat of death.
Then they looked at Kailen Darkhaven.
His calm, mocking gaze said it all.
"Didn't think I was just playing hide and seek with y'all, did you?"
Kailen said.
The empirewide audience had seen Kailen's method of killing the spawned creatures, and knowing that he was a Black Flask, they had expected the deaths of the society presidents when they encountered him.
When he started evading their attacks, they didn't understand what was going on.
He could have just killed them — so why was he playing hide and seek with them?
But now, the answer was before them.
From the time his battle with the society presidents had begun, he had intentionally planted poisons in their system that had slowly started to take effect.
And he had been toying with them as he watched the poisons start to take effect in their system, as he vanished from one place to another while they launched attacks towards him.
Kailen Darkhaven had been playing them like a bunch of clowns.
He had been enjoying himself as they made fools of themselves.
One could not imagine what he was thinking when they were launching attacks against him — and he was evading the attacks — when he knew fully well that they were a bunch of time-ticking bombs with poisons already in their system, and they were already dying.
This Kailen Darkhaven was someone who enjoyed toying with his enemies — and making them feel extreme pain before he killed them.
This guy was too ruthless!!!!!
But, how did he plant the poison in their systems?
He didn't make use of the powders in the vials like he had done during when he killed the spawned creatures, right?
So how did he do it?
Only Kailen knew what he had done.
From the time he started the battle with the society presidents, he took out several needles coated with invisibility runes from his storage ring.
The needles had already been coated with liquid versions of the powdered aromatic poisons he used to kill the spawned creatures and Enna Harker.
Kailen simply injected the needles into their system.
The tiny needles, on coming into contact with them, pierced their skin — and through that, the poison was injected into their bloodstreams, after which the poisons started to take effect.
"Did you feel any pricking sensations on your skin?"
Kailen approached them calmly, with a sadistic smile, watching them choke on the icy ground in pain.
They couldn't answer him because they were dying — but their shocked and frightened expressions told him they had recalled the moment.
They had assumed at the time that it was nothing.
After all, an insignificant prickling sensation that lasted for just a second or less in an icy region was nothing.
But who would have thought….
As for the empirewide spectators, they were left in the dark concerning the realization the society presidents had grasped in their final moments — completely shocked about the prickling sensation Kailen Darkhaven was referring to.
However, they figured it had something to do with a poison, preferably the same /similar one he had used to kill the spawned creatures and Enna Harker , executed in a different and terrifying manner they couldn't put a figure on.
This made them all the more confused and curious — and made Kailen Darkhaven seem all the more terrifying…
