Kailen's elemental mirroring and shadow sense spread towards multiple directions.
Quickly, he spotted several spawned creatures in the vicinity.
His attention was however drawn towards one creature in particular — a rank beginner stage ascendant level creature.
" This one would be alright to test my vine manipulation."
Quickly, Kailen turned into a streak of light and headed towards the creature's direction.
The creature looked like a giant tortoise the size of a hill.
The moment it spotted Kailen, an intelligent glint was revealed in its eyes.
The creature had been hungry for who knows how long, praying to whatever force existed out there to send it some prey before it lost its mind and started chewing its own shell.
Thankfully, its prayers had been answered in the form of this… puny-looking creature standing before it.
Kailen stared at the tortoise giant standing on its feet.
The creature's eyes shimmered with some sort of magma-like hue, then the temperature suddenly became extremely hot.
Shhhhzzzhhhh!
Suddenly, trees in the vicinity started to burn, and the ground started to melt.
Brummmmmm!
Magma spewed from the now boiling ground and floated around the creature.
Whoooosshhhh!
With a ferocious gaze, it launched several streaks of magma towards Kailen with a staff that appeared in its hand from nowhere.
Kailen didn't stand on ceremony.
Since he was here to test his vine manipulation, might as well just use it and get this over with.
Even the spectators could perceive that Kailen Darkhaven was not taking this seriously, with the lax expression on his face.
Just when the attack was about to make impact with Kailen, his clothes shimmered with some sort of runes — and his figure disappeared. He had made use of teleportation runes he had inscribed on his clothes.
The magma crashed into a nearby hill and melted it into wax.
Before the creature could process what had happened, Kailen had appeared right in front of its large eyes.
" Vine manipulation," Kailen muttered swiftly.
Whoooosshhhh!
Several thick green vines with sharp edges shot out of Kailen's figure, turning into large, sharp arrow-like objects, which headed towards the creature's large eyes with preternatural speed.
The creature swung its large staff, sending a stream of magma hurtling towards Kailen's way.
" Let's try this to see if this combination will work."
Kailen's form flickered again, making use of the teleportation rune inscribed on his clothes, and he appeared a bit far from the creature's range of attack.
However, the vines heading towards its large eyes seemed to shimmer softly with some runes before they disappeared.
The spectators deemed the attack had been obliterated by the magma — however, what happened next shocked them.
The sharp-edged vines that had disappeared reappeared a hair's breadth in front of the creature's large eyes before they pierced through its eyes directly into its brain and turned it into paste.
This was when most realized that Kailen Darkhaven had inscribed his vine attack with a rank 0 teleportation rune, which caused the vines to disappear and quickly shorten the distance towards the creature's eyes — catching it off guard.
This fellow's application of runesmithery during battles was really ingenious.
As for the towering reptile, it fell down — and died.
The creature's fall caused shockwaves to spread towards multiple directions and craters kilometers wide to appear.
Quickly, Kailen sent the dead body into his storage ring.
" With its abilities, it would make a powerful shadow creature."
The time dilation artifact sighed.
" Sigh... when are you gonna kill those bastards? You've kept me on the edge of my seat for too long... tsk! If this were some novel and you were the writer, the readers would be cursing you right now."
Kailen chuckled at her antics, then ignored her.
" Looks like the vine affinity works fine. I bet the whole place is in uproar after I've demonstrated my vine affinity. It's not like I was planning on hiding it anyway. As for my enemies — don't worry, don't be too shocked yet, a heavy blow is about to be dealt to your prodigies."
Individuals were commenting on Kailen's sudden use of another affinity.
" How many affinities does this dude have?"
" Fuck! He's a freak — a fucking freak!"
" Honestly, I think it's as a result of elemental mirroring!"
" Idiot. The use of vines is not elemental!"
" Right, so that means it's not elemental mirroring-based. Which means not only does he have the shadow affinity, lightning affinity — he also has vine affinity? Who the hell is this guy?"
Similar conversations were playing out at different places.
At the Darkhaven, Harkers, and Arcane Empowerment Sect, the leaders were literally fuming with rage. They had never felt so threatened.
This kid had to die.
As for the crown prince, he was currently watching everything from the royal palace with an unreadable expression on his face.
No one knew what he was thinking.
His eyes were simply apathetic to the whole thing.
Kailen's loved ones too were equally shocked at his display, despite promising themselves that they wouldn't be shocked at any display of his anymore.
Old Ha was benefiting the most from this situation.
Several ladies were latching onto his arms at the club as he was boasting about Kailen and the fact that the kid was his grand disciple.
Since the first lady who was present when he was talking with Jackson had vouched for his authenticity, their attention was drawn to the fact that he was the president of the Alchemy Association too.
As much as he was grinning and having a good time, inwardly he was so shocked at Kailen's display that he didn't know what to think anymore about the kid.
Even Bianca , Cyco, Nuel, and Jackson felt the same way.
Another affinity?
Had he been hiding it all this time?
And his ingenious usage of runes in battle…
Not everyone could think quickly and balance combat with runesmithery like he did.
This kid… ah...
Arrie, Charles, Micheal, and the others stared at the screen in shock.
" Just when you think you know him and you are getting used to what he can do," Arrie muttered — a sentiment they all shared.
If only they knew that he was about to do something more shocking, they'd steel themselves.
It seemed they had underestimated his ability to pull off crazy shit.
---
The subject of discussion in question did not move towards different regions of the forest.
He simply stood rooted on the same spot.
" Time to hunt."
The moment Kailen said that, several shadow creatures which were not serving as his eyes over societies in the secret realm appeared before him in their humanoid forms.
Kailen handed over various powdered substances in some flasks to them, then directed them to head into the forest.
He'd give them further orders when they entered the forest.
The spectators were wondering what Kailen Darkhaven was up to..
