I will strive beyond this cursed bloodline!

Chapter 81: An eye for...a chance?

The influx of spells, skills and infosec abilities flooded towards Elizabeth as she started walking down the red carpet. Almost every second she took a step a new prod at her status was made.

Elizabeth smirked under her veil and let them all come in; she restricted the data that was gleaned, of course, only allowing them to see for themselves that she was indeed Tier S.

But Elizabeth didn't mind that, nor the glare that [The Prophet] was sending her way, she was more wary of the gaze from [The Warlock] and the weird smile [The Elementalist] sent her way.

The first one seemed to be casting spells under his disguise. In contrast, the second didn't cast a single spell, or well, Elizabeth couldn't sense any mana movement around him.

Which was weird, because there was no way that man hadn't checked if Elizabeth was or not an S-Tier. He had invited them to Izanami, so he would surely check on it.

And that was fine, Elizabeth would take them on, even if Jenna had said that she wished for this to not end in a fight, from what Elizabeth was seeing, at least [The Prophet] would start a fight.

[The Warlock]? Was to be decided.

[The Elementalist] didn't seem outwardly hostile, and that meant [The Beast Master] wouldn't fight.

So far so good.

Echidna? That one didn't matter, Elizabeth had defeated her with less than a tenth of her current power, now? Now she could probably defeat her without even having to pay attention to her.

Even if she was limited by how much affinity she held towards the Shadows as she no longer was The Shadow Weaver.

Pure power was a quality of its own.

But that was besides the point, and Elizabeth merely smirked as she continued moving forward. Step by step she climbed the stairs at the end of the red carpet. As she took the first step into the stairs she felt the barrier that was set up, a barrier designed to only allow the mana signature of Elizabeth and her loved ones to go past it.

"Next, we have the one of the brides of the night." The announcer started once more as soon as Elizabeth stood at the top of the stairs and turned back to look down on the expectators.

"A famed healer who is known by many of the people here," Images of Rossie healing and working in clinics and hospitals started being projected around the reception hall, "She is a talented healer who worked where people needed the most and healed poor and rich alike."

...More like charged way too much to the rich and experimented with the poor...

"She is Rossaline Singh, daughter of one of the big movers in Britania." The announcer said and Rossie materialized in a flash of pink flowers and pink hearts.

It was cute.

And unlike with Elizabeth, the reactions were more sedated, really the only one who reacted outwardly was [The Prophet], but Rossie had already told Elizabeth about the whole thing that the Prophet had attempted to recruit her into her thrall.

Unlike with Elizabeth, a very few sent infosect skills at Rossie, but Rossie's defenses weren't as merciful as Elizabeth.

So while she allowed them to look her tier, she also made them wince with the backlash. At least the people who checked weren't important and mostly security...

Not that Elizabeth minded it that much if they got hurt, they deserved it for peeking at Rossie!

Overall, the reception of Rossie's cute pink dress was good, and Rossie looked beautiful beyond reason. It was insulting that more people didn't lick Rossie with their eyes, even if doing so would mean their imminent death as they would be marked for death by Elizabeth.

Or perhaps they knew about that? And that was why they didn't pay that much attention to Rossie? That or Rossie's parents were at fault.

They were seated in the private family seating area, above on the walls and away from the other people, safe and removed from the other people that was a risk.

Even so, Rossie looked gorgeous even while ignoring the prodding from the mana of everyone as she walked down the red carpet towards Elizabeth. They had spoken about if someone would walk them down or not.

Elizabeth and Rena didn't mind it if Rossie's father walked her down or not, but Rossie had refused adamantly; the fact that she was the only one who had a parent to walk her up weighed heavily in her mind.

So at the end of the day Rossie would walk alone.

"Next we have another of the brides of the night," The announcer started speaking as soon as Rossie walked up the stairs and stood to the right of Elizabeth.

There was murmuring immediately after the announcer said that there would be another bride; it was bad enough that Rossie and Elizabeth were both girls, but a third one?

It seemed that a few started to speak about that fact. Not that the announcer stopped talking.

"She was raised a orphan, strived to become independent and became a master of all bladed weapons," The announcer spoke of Rena's great achievements, "She survived against the odds and made it to where she stands today, the Sword Saintess who became a Demon Slaying Swordswoman, Watanabe Rena!"

Rena materialized among a burst of fire and surrounded by all kinds of swords and spears, her red wedding dress matched quite well with her appearance if Elizabeth was to be honest.

And unlike with Rossie, Rena got many more eyes on her, and less infosect skills turned her way. Which was kind of funny on its own way, Elizabeth could understand and even nodded at this kind of reaction, she also made a mental list of all the people who looked lecherously at her wife.

They would get what was comming for them later.

"So we introduce to you the brides," The announcer said as he started walking down the stairs, even for an Echo of Jenna it was quite... mundane.

A normal blue-haired man with a black tuxedo, that was about it.

"Now, for this joyous-" The announcer moved on with the program, but before he could say a single word.

"[Break]!" The shrill voice of [The Prophet] sounded once more as the sound of glass breaking resounded in the hall.

Rena narrowed her eyes at [The Prophet] while Rossie merely smiled evily at the albino woman.

"Stop this charade!" [The Prophet] screamed as she threw her coif away, exposing her face and platinum hair. A few of those in the tables reacted, but most ignored it. At least till she snapped her fingers and her whole habit changed from one of a priestess to her [Prophet] garb. "I can't tolerate it anymore, you infidels, what do you think you are doing right now!?!?!?"

"Me?" Elizabeth said, first she had the decency of looking to the sides (Even if to peek at how cute Rossie and Rena looked) then behind her, there was no way someone was behind her of course, "We are having a wedding."

"What degeneracy you do in your free time is up to you, but why are you inviting us to this event? Why are you parading it proudly all around?" [The Prophet] screeched as she walked off the raised platform, only for golden stairs to appear under her feet. Now she was standing above everyone else, "Do you have an idea of what you are doing to [The World] at this very moment?"

What Elizabeth was doing to [The World] huh...

"I mean... We did send an invitation to her..." Elizabeth said looking around and not finding the purple-haired woman, "But care to explain what you mean?"

And after thinking for a second Elizabeth added, "Also down." And with that, she broke the cohesion of the mana platforms that [The Prophet] had made, making her fall to the floor.

Below Elizabeth and company.

"You are breaking a bloodline of power users and mages!" [The Prophet] spoke as if unbothered by the fact that she had been brought down to the ground level, "You who has risen to almost our level of power!"

Almost.... was the right word all right. Elizabeth's eyes shone with the draconic might as she made sure that the data was as she remembered.

"It is possible to have daughters between Magical Girls," Elizabeth stated plainly, "If that is what you mean, Mother made sure of that."

"That is a flawed creation!" [The Prophet] stated back, "It will cut off in two generations at best unless they find a male partner!"

"That is for them to decide," Elizabeth said shaking her head, "I will not force my tastes or beliefs upon my daughters, just as I will not accept the beliefs of others being shoved down on me."

"... You egoistic brat..." [The Prophet] seemed to burn with rage at the statement, "... But that's right... You are a brat. Let your older sister educate you, we can make this work."

What was this madwoman speaking about?

"Lucia...." Echidna spoke as she walked out of the shadows into the red carpet, "This is my advice as a coworker who suffered under the same tyranny... Let it go."

"A bitch who couldn't defeat a brat has no right to bark at my feet." [The Prophet] said without even looking back, "You Starbright, marry my brother."

"I... pardon?" Elizabeth said turning to [The Warlock] who sighed and shook his head, "He is an S-Tier [Arch-Mage], our data from you states that you have an affinity for summoning. My brother is also a summoner, you will match perfectly. As an S-Tier Shadow Summoner you are worthy of-"

"Silence..." It came almost as a whisper as a wave of mana crashed down on the reception hall, and the response of everyone was quick. A-Tier bodyguards quickly walked forward and raised barriers for their protegees.

Echidna even protected a few of the civilians, that Elizabeth had not seen coming.

"I have been waiting patiently because Eli-Eli said that we needed to do this, but you would attempt to take Eli-Eli from me... AGAIN?!?!?" Rossie walked forward, then a second after she raised her hand and did a downguard motion, as her hand reached its lowest point, all around [The Prophet] the small Valkyries materialized from thin air. "Eli-Eli... I know you wanted to make a statement, but... does she need to be alive for it to sink?"

"I am with her on this Eli, we don't really need her alive. Quite the opposite, killing her would make the statement sink further down with all the people around, so they know to let us alone." Rena spoke as the handle of weapons started materializing behind her. Each one filled to the brim with dense Mana.

Elizabeth did notice quite a great number of people cancelling their dampening skills, but even so, they would take their time to allow them to use their skills. Not that it would make them any good.

"Calm down Rossie, Rena..." Elizabeth said trying to pacify her wives, "I am sure the Italians didn't mean it in a bad way."

"...Italians?" [The Elementalist] said for the first time since this charade started, "Care to explain why do you refer to Veritalis envoys as such? That moniker has only been used by a very limited amount of people... Of course Lady Jenna being one of them, but even so, not many would use."

"My parents always referred to them like that." Elizabeth said shrugging.

"Your parents...?" [The Elementalist] said sitting back to think.

"What a joke, using that name when you don't know the meaning... It will not make you more imposing Starbright, we know you are an orphan!" [The Prophet] screeched, "Giovanni! Start moving, we are moving forward with plan C-Buster!"

Plan C-Buster?

"Do it!" [The Prophet] screamed as she removed a pendant and threw it against the floor, a sudden influx of mana and more importantly Soul flew and went straight to [The Warlock].

"Stop it Lucia." [The Warlock] said sighing, "Just... stop it..."

Elizabeth was not the only one surprised by this, as even Jenna stumbled, the blue-haired girl had started rushing towards [The Warlock].

"We have lost," [The Warlock] said removing a matching pendant and putting it against the table. Then his figure blurred for a second and...

A normal looking guy was there standing, no blue skin, no monster arm, no horns... He looked similar to [The Prophet], but then again, he was the brother of [The Prophet], so that was to be expected.

"...What have you done? Are you betraying me? Are you betraying our hopes?!?!?!" [The Prophet] glared with bloodshot eyes at her brother.

"...All my demons have broken their contract with me." [The Warlock] merely stated, "As soon as you offered Elizabeth to marry me, they all broke the contract."

"May we speak Inheritor?" Suddenly, the smell of sulfur and a demonic-looking magic circle appeared in front of the stairs, located at the lowest level, but one step above the [Prophet].

"....yes?" Elizabeth answered unsure, she... had not dealt with Demons, even if her powers were based upon the seven cardinal sins.

"We have no ill will against you Inheritor, we have broken our contracts and paid the price in full. We do not want payment or rewards... just a promise that you will not turn your attention towards our planes." The voice of an entity spoke within the magic circle... At no moment did they take a single step into Zaanam.

"Okay...?" Elizabeth wasn't quite sure what to think about this. "Do we have any problem with the demons?"

And as such, Elizabeth asked to Rossie and Rena, both just shrugged. Which was what Elizabeth expected, if anything, they had quite the affinity towards Demons and such races, as Rossie was a succubi and Rena an ashura...

Or used to be anyway.

"So what?" [The Prophet] said laughing, "You can just make a new contract, with the mana you earned from them breaking the contract surely we can tie down an Arch Demon, or even a Demon Lord!"

"...Lucy..." [The Warlock] sighed, "I beesech you, guardian of knowledge... I ask of thy a boon, the price will be the light of my left eye, open the vaults of Akasha and show us a page of your books."

[The Warlock] started chanting as he ripped out his left eye and threw it into the air. Elizabeth felt the mana resonate with [Zaanam], and the next second an explosion resounded. She quickly raised a barrier to protect them.

But... against all odds, she felt no ill intent from it.

"Sorry," Only the voice of the purple woman as three blue screens shone brightly in front of all their guests... "I'll limit it from fully being seen by anyone under A-Tier that isn't part of your entourage...Besides the caster."

That would mean...that only the [Nine Stars] would be able to see them?

Well that wasn't that bad.

"Fine." Elizabeth said nodding as she felt the presence of the purple woman materialize in one of the private raised rooms.

Now their status were on the open for all to see (Or the [Nine Stars]).

"That's....that's...." [The Prophet] said as she fell to her knees, "...What kind of monster..."

Yeah... The weaker of the three girls was still stronger than the strongest [Nine Star] member... Stat wise anyway.

If Elizabeth went by rumors, the strongest member did not have the highest stats. This of course, didn't count Echidna. That woman was cheating on her stats.

Still...

"You two did benefit from these last months, huh?" Elizabeth said turning to her wives, she hadn't looked at their status since it felt... kind of meaningless at this point, they wouldn't use them for long. Not if everything went according to plan.

But it was a hell of a show of force, all thanks to [The Warlock]... who now only had an eye... That man had a thing with losing body parts, huh.
