The first thing she got was an error message.
Notice: Error. The entity isn't logged within the Akashic records. That was something, Elizabeth of course had thought it could be something like that, but she hadn't expected it to really end up like that. She had hopes, hopes that there was something that could explain what this purple-haired teenager fox girl was.
Not that it was her only guess about how to go about it, she had other options too. "Stop playing around and just give me the stupid black box," Elizabeth said aloud while still keeping her focus on Sana, the fox girl for her part just kept there looking as if it was the most normal thing ever.
Elizabeth found that part of her annoying, and as proof that the girl really was the daughter of Aura, both were made of the same thing, if Elizabeth was to be honest, annoying, the girl truly was one of a kind, not that Elizabeth really hated her, she could never do that.
She had been birthed out of necesity by Elizabeth to fulfil a task, and she had done so, quite amazingly at that, not only Elizabeth was no longer bloated, but also she had never felt this light, the consecuences of what Sana had done hadn't quite landed and Elizabeth hoped they didn't for quite sometime, but besides that?
Nothing was wrong.
Alice: Here, have at it. You really outshone yourself this time. Notice:
New life has been breathed into your World, rejoice, Administrator. You have taken the first steps upon this long journey.
Living beings within your World:
Kuzunoha Sana, The Priestess of Space.
Your first step was made, welcome your first Eve to your new world, may your Adam bring as much hope and become the seed of birth for all that are to come forth.
"You are…Eve?" Elizabeth said to Sana.
"No Mistress, I am sana." Sana answered confused, "Or are you saying that I should change my name…?"
"Why are you looking at me?" Aura asked as Sana turned her sight to her, "Mistress is weird sometimes, but she hasn't renamed anyone against her will…yet anyway."
"No, that's not. I will not take away your right to a name yourself," Elizabeth said shaking her head, "But this…you are….alive?"
"I mean yeah…?" Sana said confused, "Mom is too, right?"
"Oh that, nope. Sorry about that, kiddo, but if you want me to be your Mother, you will become an orphan." Aura said shaking her head, "I am part of the dead…or well, technically I am a construct….Mistress…What are we?"
What are you? How could someone answer that?
"Most of my minions are either constructs, part of the dead, or summons made out of living mana." Elizabeth said, ignoring the very poorly made question from Aura, "Aura, for example, was someone whose Soul was tied to the world of the living. I gave her a body, and she chose to stay around. But she isn't… alive… Technically, the body she uses is a mana construct, a Shadow Doppelganger, but her status is closer to an undead, I guess?"
It's not that Elizabeth was willing to take a bet on that; she wouldn't be surprised if the girl had revived herself at some point. She had an epithet, so chances were that Aura was way more powerful than anyone else. Actually, how many people had one?
Elizabeth, Rossie, Rena…well, most of the Heroes had one. The Student Council….Jenna probably had one…Papa and Mother had one? Probably…
Echidna definitely had one, some of the [Twelve] should have one, probably not all, if Elizabeth was to take a guess, [The Prophet] and [The Warlock] probably were among the ones that didn't have one.
"So….Mom is dead…" Sana said, looking up and down at Aura, "She doesn't look that bad. Who killed her anyway? Did you take care of her already Mistress?"
That….was going to be an awkward talk, wasn't it? How does one explain to someone that her Mother's killer was peachy (and perky) as if nothing?
"That would be me," Rossie said without any worry. She was being annoying and wanted to take Eli-Eli from me. So I hunted her down, cornered her…"
Rossie said, standing up and walking up to Sana, "She ran away into a labyrinth and tried to trap me with her, so I poisoned her while she was hiding inside and waited for her to come out, she didn't. So I merely sealed the entrance and left some surprises in case she made it out. She didn't." And after describing how she had done that, Rossie looked down at Sana, "Will we have a problem?"
"I mean, she also tormented me all the way, taunted me, and then finally used a very nasty combination of neurotoxins, a very pointed spell that turned my lungs into fire and finally a noxious gas designed to melt the skin of my body," Aura said helpfully from the side, getting looks from almost everyone.
"Oh right, also the spell that attempted to rip your soul and crush it," Almost everyone but Rossie.
"I knew I had felt something was wrong! Good thing I didn't left the maze," Aura said nodding along.
"....I am sorry…but…you remember?" Elizabeth asked, "You remember your past life? I had thought you had…forgotten…"
"Oh yeah, I do remember, it sucked," Aura said nodding, "Got sold as slave to the italians, got killed by a crazy murderhobo….lady of the night… and then when I got a sense of myself I was already going nuts on a crazy rapist while feeling the presence of…well, you Mistress."
Elizabeth wanted to never find out how that felt, if it was strong enough to entice someone like Aura to forget grudges…No wait, "Then…do you hate Rossie?" Elizabeth asked getting the realization that Aura had been…helping her all this time with Rossie, who had killed her.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
"What? Hate her?" Aura asked turning to Rossie, "Mistress…please. Your wife is a very broken and damaged girl, she is basically the textbook of insanity, she is not responsible for what she did," Aura said nodding sagely, "Also, she is the reason I am free, so yeah…We are even if I had something to say about it, she helped me get out of the Italians…I don't teleport her into the sun, everyone wins."
"....I beg you pardon?" Rossie said narrowing her cute, adorable, lovely and hot eyes at Aura.
"You heard me, the only one who has any hope," Aura said as her presence shifted once more, from the happy carefree maid, into The Maiden of Space, "And I mean any hope at all, to dodge or survive me teleporting them into a sun is Elizabeth Starbright…And maybe this brat,"
Aura said placing a hand atop Sana and ruffling her hair, "And even them, I could neutralize them by sending them to a black hole or another reality, it would take them too long to return in time. You may be good Rossaline Singh, but you aren't that good, not yet. Not before you earn your Epithet, Saintess of Healing."
"...Hmph," Rossie merely grunted, "You may teleport me wherever you want, but I will not die, Eli-Eli would save me, or bring me back."
"And that is why you aren't teleported to our local star system," Aura said nodding, "There is nothing more futile than fighting against a Fate's favored son. So yeah, I do not hold grudges."
"Good," Rossie said nodding, "Also… I'm sorry….for tormenting you…I was…in a rough spot."
"....Appreciated, but really. You did me a favour," Aura said, shrugging, "Aurelia Vitelius was a very pitiful girl, I'd rather be Aura Di Starbright."
"Well, that is nice and all…But why does that make me an Eve?" Sana said raising her hand, "I still haven't gotten that explanation."
"Well…An Eve in the theological sense means the first woman created, in some cults they speak of another woman called Lilith, but I am guessing Mistress doesn't mean it in that way, but in the sense that Eve is the first woman." Aura said turning to Sana, "As you are Alive, it probably means that you are the first actual living entity within Mistress's Domain."
"That is what the [Identify] said yes," Elizabeth said nodding, "But usually the first ones to be born are made in the image of their creator…"
Elizabeth looked up and down Sana, "You are closer to what I imagine a daughter of Aura would look, I do wonder about the fox ears, but then again you are a Space Fox, so they probably come from that aspect." And really, what was even a Space Fox?
"That is one interesting bit of data. Did it say anything else?" Aura said turning to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth, in turn, turned to the black screen and clicked it away.
Inhabitants:They are the ones who provide life and advance the culture of your World, they are intrinsically tied to your advancement both as a World and as an Administrator. Some hide their Core Worlds away from prying eyes, others take them into their Core Domain.
How you deal with that is up to you. Should you decide to take them back in, you should be aware that you need a certain degree of strength. Another option would be to discard them entirely and leave them to their own devices, forgetting about them.
Know that they will always be tied to you, to some degree, if they perish their destruction will impact you, the more they advance as a culture, the more power you will have available. As you are already someone who wields and uses Mana, you have the option of gifting it to them from inception.
The choice is your Administrator.
"Nope, nothing else," Elizabeth said also dismissing the last screen, "Say Sana…any reason why you shunted away Terra Nexus there?"
"Not really? I had wanted to follow the tracks of the planet to their origin, but the space was already distorted and couldn't pierce the barrier, so I threw it to the nearest open system that was available." Sana answered shrugging.
The original spot? The place where Terra Invicta had been? Why was that spot no longer available? It should be open right? Since the planet had…No wait.
"Say…Terra Nexus….was an actual object right? It had mass and all of that." Elizabeth asked suddenly feeling a weird premonition.
"No?" Sana answered confused. "There is no way an actual physical object can reside within your Soul, most of the things you throw there are turned first into Mana and then stored, so while the planet may have been a real planet, what you had was closer to a mana impression. Still a powerful and dangerous thing, but the actual planet probably has been either reduced to space dust or destroyed by now."
That…sounded plausible? Elizabeth wasn't that keen into the physics of Mana into objects, but she did have a few skills that could help with that, namely, the skill that she got from Echidna. And the process the older woman used to turn Nightmares into Mana and the other way around.
"So that means….That we lost our apartment?" Rossie asked from the side.
Oh right, "Let me check," Elizabeth said, closing her eyes and focusing on the feeling of going back into her Soulscape.
The first thing she noticed was that it was…more seamless, she found herself standing in the Shadow Spire as if nothing had happened.
"What can we do for you, Mistress?" Mordred even asked as if nothing was out of place.
"What is happening?" Elizabeth asked as she tried to get a feel for the space around, she… didn't find anything different, at least not until she looked out of the window and found a starry sky…one that she didn't quite recognize.
"We are taking measures of the changes that have happened, we detected a spike in mana, both elemental and aspectual." Mordred answered passing Elizabeth a tablet, "We have also detected a change in the surroundings of Terra Nexus, we have detected some new stars and planets nearby. What are your instructions, Mistress?"
"Monitor the changes and report anything relevant, coordinate with Reginald and the other head minions…Also….Speak both with Aura and Sana about any future requirements for things around." Elizabeth was happy that nothing seemed to be wrong, and she got the feeling that nothing had really changed.
"Your will shall be done," Mordred said bowing to Elizabeth, "Who is this Lady Sana that we need to consult?"
….Right…
"She is the head of a new caste of minions…Or well, not minions but Inhabitants I guess?" Elizabeth said thinking back on that, technically…Sana hadn't been the first living being born had she? What about the Valkyries? "You will see her later,"
Why hadn't that notice put them?
"Send the reports as needed I need to speak with someone," Elizabeth said pulling her consciousness back to the real…or well, to Zaanam. "What about the Valkyries?"
Alice:They are also inhabitants and could qualify as living entities, but they were born not out of aspectual mana, nor were they created out of your will. They are inhabitants, but are more like…Local fauna rather than actual living beings.
AS a world, as an Administrator, intent is all that matters. You willed the Space Fox as a living being, so she gets the title of Eve.
Also, think carefully about what you make Envy; that one will probably end up as Adam.
"Envy? Why Env-" Elizabeth was about to ask when she noticed it, of the Gems she still had available…
The next one would be Envy, because Lust….Lust was being saved for last, and honestly…Looking at Sana….Elizabeth didn't want to saddle the poor girl with an entity fueled by Lust. Eliabeth was ˋsuffering' that fate already.
"What's the issue, mistress?" Sana asked confused. "Did I miss something when teleporting?"
"You are fine," Aura said before Elizabeth could do anything, "Mistress is just slow in some aspects, you will get used to it."
"Rude," Elizabeth said glaring at Aura, "And everything is fine Rossie, try to get in as normal."
Elizabeth turned her full attention to Rossie as the pink-haired girl closed her eyes and focused, "Hmm…." She felt her attempt to connect to the Soulscape as normal, the golden thread forming and focusing.
And after a loss of mana (It was negligible, and if Elizabeth hadn't been paying attention, she wouldn't have noticed). She felt Rossie materialize in the apartment, her figure was….tinged in a golden aura?
"Yeah, everything is normal." Rossie said after opening her eyes back in Zaanam, "It felt if anything, as if everything was more alive, but besides that I didn't notice any change. Is the new girl working right?"
"I assure you she did a good work," Aura jumped in defense of Sana, "If anything, she probably did better than I would have."
"Really?" Sana asked, turning to Aura, "...I mean yeah, I did a good job, had plenty of mana to work with, so all I had to do was set the teleportation coordinates and open some space on the other side…My kin will settle down around the local space and ensure nothing bad happens and will fix the orbit of the nearby planets and prepare an asteroid field…"
"Okay okay," Elizabeth said raising her hand, "I get it, you will have work to do, anything we can do to help you?"
"Hmm….Most of my kin should have it easy by themselves, but if you can provide some help I would appreciate it, it needs to be someone who can survive in the void of space though." Sana said nodding, "Preferably someone with affinity to either space or something that can interface with space mana."
"Mordred," Elizabeth sighed, "Come out."
"Yes Mitress?" The black-haired girl asked as she materialized in the apartment, the shadows dancing around as the girl showed herself.
"The Shadow Dragons are capable of what Sana asks?" Elizabeth asked, knowing the answer already.
"Yes Mistress, the shadows are attuned to both space, gravity and matter." Mordred answered, "We are the perfect match in that aspect to what Lady Kuzunoha asked."
Well, that was…good.
"There you have it," Elizabeth said sighing, she probably would have made a good combination between Shadows and Sloth….But alas….that one was already bound together, and if anything she liked how it had ended. Even if she didn't like the original sin that had been used.
"Yeah, I can work with that, do you need anything else Mistress?" Sana asked as the mana twisted around her, Elizabeth could faintly see the coordinates for a teleportation, somewhat near Terra Nexus, but not in Terra Nexus it was a weird feeling if anything.
"Yes, can you help us with the Amelia thing?" Elizabeth said turning to Sana, "Aura said that she couldn't, but I assume you have different restrictions?"
"Amelia?" Sana asked confused, "What is an Amelia?"
….Elizabeth liked it more when her Minions and servants knew everything and she didn't ned to explain it, it was all so much easier…..
