Boosted Continuation – A new world (GL)

Chapter 210 – Right hand

Fen and Kel decided to test their strength in a magic fight, and after playing around, things quickly got a little more heated between the two overpowered beings. In the end, it got so out of hand that everything seemingly exploded and caused Sophia's domain to reset or something along those lines.

"Ouch! What was that for?!" After Fen and Kel landed on the hard floor of the domain, everyone's favorite bird, Blu, who had stayed out of their fight until now, flew over to them and gave both a hearty smack on the back of their heads. The dragon's head had actually been driven into the domain floor and disappeared into it, while the wolf had collapsed on the ground because of it. Once he got back on his leg, he immediately glared at the bird. "Also, what just happened?!" He then turned to the side to look at the tiger.

"You two overdid it and tripped the breaker." Sophia slowly shook her head.

"We did what?" Fen didn't understand her explanation.

"Ah…"

"Bwah!" A moment later, Kel pulled his massive head out of the ground and shook it from side to side afterward. "That bird of yours is a monster!" The dragon glanced at Blu before also focusing on the blonde. "Also, what just happened?" He had the same reaction as the wolf, but hadn't been able to hear that he had just asked the same.

"You two triggered the protection rule of my domain just as you two had so cheekily announced before." She was still shaking her head. "The stuff you two tried to pull at the end caused my domain to pull all magic out of the area to protect you from yourselves."

"That just means your rules are way too strict." Kel lightly shook his head. "I just launched some small little waterblades at him."

"Yes, water blades stretched so thin they rival razor blades." She stared right at him. "Not to mention that it was highly pressurized with the help of air magic. I can see what exactly you're doing with magic in my domain, you know?"

"Ah." The dragon turned his head away.

"It could've turned Fen into minced meat."

"I easily could've dodged them!" The wolf didn't see the issue.

"Sure you could." The blonde rolled her eyes.

"Also, I only tried to use a bit of slightly stronger fire magic, as well!" Fen then also raised his voice.

"You tried to burn 80% of your authority in the form of pure raw magic all around Kel! It probably would've been enough to react with his internal magic, leading to a chain reaction that wouldn't have even let ash remain of you! Even without that reaction, burning that much raw magic would've been more than enough to turn him into charcoal in the very best case!" Sophia got even louder than him.

"…"

"I'll put both of you into a boot camp with Blu for the next week!" Reacting to that, the parakeet flew to her shoulder before doing a small salute with its wing to confirm the plan.

"N-No!" The two actually started panicking.

"Seriously, what were you thinking?" Sophia then got off her island and moved closer to Fen. "You know how powerful that type of fire is!"

"He's a big and tough guy, though."

"And you!" The blonde then turned to look at Kel. "You do that right after I told you not to harm others?!"

"Should we tell her?" The dragon looked past her while focusing on the wolf.

"We better." He nodded a few times. "I don't want to get hunted by Blu, after all."

"Very true!" Kel agreed with him.

"What are you two talking about?" Sophia couldn't follow them.

"We knew what we were doing." The wolf looked right at her.

"Of course you did!" Sophia rolled her eyes.

"No, I mean, we planned to do it like this because we wanted to see your domain in action."

"Exactly!"

"WHY?!"

"Curiosity~." The voices of the two turned playful.

"Curiosity kills the cat!" She only got louder.

"Good thing I'm a dragon."

"And I'm a wolf."

"You two meeting was a mistake." The situation was tiring her out a little. "What are you even talking about?"

"We started out by simply testing out our strength as one does when you have power." Kel went first.

"Which is a matter of course, after all." Fen nodded along. "It was obvious from the start, but while playing around, we quickly came to the conclusion that we'd need to do something more extreme to see who's stronger."

"And what better way to test how far we can go when the overseer of the domain and her right hand are here to watch and step in if the predetermined rules wouldn't work." The dragon finished his explanation.

"There are so many things about that one sentence that I can't even…" The overseer shook her head before glancing at her right hand bird Blu on her shoulder, who only shrugged with its wings while letting out a few chirps in response.

"Now we know that we can go further while knowing we're safe, as your domain is working properly." Fen looked at the tiger. "If it keeps us from going for mass destruction like earlier, smaller accidents won't be an issue, either!"

"Or medium accidents." Kel thought the same.

"Exactly!" The wolf liked his addition.

"How are you two able to trust each other with your lives, not even 15 minutes after meeting?!" Sophia couldn't believe them.

"I trust you with my life." Fen slowly shook his head while continuing to look at the blonde. "If you say I can't get killed in here, I just know I won't."

"…" She had no comeback for that.

"I'm just here for the fun." The dragon was a lot more lighthearted on the matter. Metaphorically speaking, that is. "That being said, if a being with a place like this and who was barely able to beat me tells me that I can't get seriously hurt in here, there's no reason for me not to believe it."

"Haaa…" The tiger let out another sigh while scratching the side of her head. "Wait, is that how Menzor feels when I visit him?" Her expression suddenly changed to a sympathetic one.

"You're worse." Fen had a different opinion on the matter.

"Thanks." She didn't sound overly thankful, though.

"You're welcome~."

"Let me make this clear again, though." Sophia then changed her attention to the dragon once more. "I am not an overseer. I have many of their features and properties, but I lack their power and status. I'd like to keep it that way, too. The status part, that is."

"I don't mind you not calling an overseer, but to me, you seem closer to being one than not being one." Kel lightly tilted his massive head to the side.

"He does have a point there." Fen had to give it to him.

"Is that so?" Sophia stared at him for a moment. "So, if you put me next to Mira and Maya, you think I'm closer to Mira instead of Maya in terms of power?"

"Abilities, maybe. Power, definitely not." The wolf paused for a second. "You're also not quite as eloquent as she is. With that, I mean, I don't want to use the word you don't like." He decided against calling her eccentric again. "Yeah, if I directly compare you and Mira, there are more, and especially, bigger differences."

"Thank you very much."

"It's been a good while since I last saw Mira, but thinking about it, you might have a point. She had more of that omniscient kind of feeling to her that you are still lacking. She also beat me up waaay harder than you did, too."

"Huh?" Sophia looked confused. "She told me that she liked you experimenting with magic and finding that loophole. Why did she beat you up, then?"

"Because I got cocky and immediately challenged her to a fight afterward." The dragon let out a small chuckle while saying so.

"I'm starting to notice a pattern here." The tiger just slowly shook her head again.

"I won't be changing anytime soon, either." He liked his way of living. "In fact, if I ever have the chance to run into Canir again, he'll get challenged, too! I didn't get the chance when I saw him the last time, and I've been itching to do so ever since!"

"You might be in luck there." Sophia scratched her cheek. "I'll be meeting him soon because I have to discuss some things."

"You being able to meet Canir just like that isn't exactly beating the overseer allegations, though." Kel just had to do it.

"Shush!" She glared at him.

"Still, I'd love to get a chance to test myself against him! Please make sure to tell me when the meeting happens and if you have time for me."

"Sure." The tiger smiled at him. "Well, I guess it depends on how you live through your punishment if you are able to meet him, though." Her expression then turned mischievous.

"Huh?"

"You don't think I let you off for going all out during your match with Fen to test out the rules of my domain, even though I specifically told you not to." The blonde stared at him before eventually turning to Fen. "Both of you will get punished before anyone's going to accuse me of playing favorites here."

"Ah." The wolf had hoped to get out of this unscathed.

"Kel, you're going to have a match against Blu!" She then smiled at the bird on her shoulder. "Show him where the real boundaries of my domain are." In response to that, the parakeet puffed up its chest while saluting with its wing.

"O-Oh." The dragon's eyes turned wide. "W-Well, it will be a good training for Canir…"

"Fen!"

"Yes." He had a bad feeling about this.

"I'm going to tell Aura that you risked your life just to try out something."

"WHAT?!" He got loud. "You just said you AREN'T going to play favorites!"

"You'd rather take on Blu, too?"

"OF COURSE!" He sounded desperate.

"Well, that just solidifies my decision to tell her."

"So unfair!"

Afterward, as the two troublemakers were lamenting over their fate, it was time for a small break where Sophia could think about her next steps and how to introduce the newcomer to the others.
