My Accidental Harem

chapter 207

Kevin learned what had happened after he left and felt touched. Camila seemed strict, but she cared about him. He felt a bit guilty for deceiving her, but he couldn't ignore Vanessa's demands. He had to take things one step at a time.

When the school bell rang, Kevin quickly packed up and rushed out. He planned to meet Vanessa, handle things quickly, and then see Camila. Though he had just been with Evelyn Allen at noon, he had to satisfy two more women tonight. It was a daunting task, but he had no choice.

Just as he left the classroom, he saw Mia waiting by the door. Seeing Kevin, she approached and said, somewhat embarrassed, "Kevin, there's a problem with the heater at my apartment. Can you help me take a look?"

Kevin was stunned. He had used Mia as an excuse, and now she was really asking for help. What a coincidence! What should he do now? He had to make a choice between the beautiful, mature Mia, the seductive Vanessa, and the needy Camila. Who should he choose?

From a logical standpoint, Kevin should've turned down Mia's request and dealt with Vanessa first. Compared to Camila and Mia, Vanessa Wood's attitude towards him was the most unpredictable and potentially troublesome. Mishandling it could lead to serious problems.

But seeing Mia's pleading look, Kevin couldn't say no. He instinctively nodded and said, "No problem, Mia Wilson."

Right after that, he regretted it, blaming himself for being so unprincipled.

"Great, let's go then." Mia said with a charming smile, and headed towards the school gate. Her round, shapely hips swayed gently in her jeans, and the boys along her way couldn't help but gulp, their eyes filled with fantasies about Mia's alluring figure.

Kevin shot a disdainful glance at those boys, thinking they had no chance with Mia. But he found himself eagerly following her. He wanted to hold her hand like he did at noon, but Mia had both hands in her pockets giving him no opportunity.

Mia had changed into a white shirt with a pink lace bra faintly visible underneath. Her full, firm breasts gently bounced with her movements, which made Kevin's heart race. He wanted to peek but didn't dare to stare directly, so he stole glances while pretending to talk to her. However, the glimpses were blurry, leaving him even more frustrated.

Mia noticed Kevin's little actions but acted like nothing happened. She felt a mix of amusement and pleasure, even occasionally pushing her chest out to tease him. Mia had a special feeling towards Kevin, different from what she felt with her friends, but it wasn't strong enough for physical affection. It was a vague state in between, and even Mia herself wasn't sure what to do about it.

The Heater Fix and Mia's Intentions

At noon, Mia had gone home to shower but found the shower malfunctioning. The water flow was off. It was a minor issue, but the store that installed the heater claimed it was out of warranty and demanded a $100 service fee. Mia felt they were overcharging and refused. She thought of asking her neighbor, Christopher Miller, for help but was disgusted by his lustful eyes. He often found excuses to visit her, and asking for his help might give him the wrong idea. She quickly abandoned that thought and considered Kevin. Boys were usually handy with tools, and simple problems should be manageable. So she decided to ask Kevin for help after school.

Asking Kevin had fewer implications. He was just a student, so no one would think much of it. Plus, Kevin liked her but was respectful and wouldn't make her uncomfortable. Most importantly, Mia enjoyed Kevin's company. He made her feel relaxed, unlike the distance she felt with other men. Kevin made her feel young and full of energy, reminiscent of her high school days.

Kevin followed Mia home and inspected the showerhead. As she had described, the water flow was weak and uneven. He guessed it was clogged, so he shut it off, removed the showerhead, and found it filled with limescale and sand. He cleaned it out and reinstalled it. He ended up sweating from the stuffy bathroom.

"Kevin, take a break." Mia said, wiping his sweat with a clean white towel. Seeing the sweat trickle down his neck and into his shirt, she hesitated to suggest he take a shower but felt it was inappropriate. No one else had ever showered in her home, so she stayed silent.

"Mrs. Wilson, it's okay now. If there's nothing else, I'll head out." Kevin said hoarsely, feeling the heat from Mia's proximity and her intoxicating scent. Her full breasts were almost touching his chest, making his heart race. But he remembered he had to meet Vanessa and resisted the urge to stay.

Seeing Kevin eager to leave, Mia felt a bit guilty. She had asked for his help but still had some reservations. She glared at him and said, "Why are you in such a hurry? You're all sweaty. If you go out now, you might catch a cold. Sit down and take a rest."

Without waiting for his response, she pulled him to the sofa and poured him a glass of milk.

Kevin's Dilemma Continues

Kevin held the glass but felt uneasy. The longer he stayed, the longer Vanessa would wait. He couldn't help but say, "Mrs. Wilson, maybe I should go. It's getting late, and it's not really appropriate for me to stay."

"You're so conservative for your age. Don't forget, we're cousins." Mia teased with a smile. "I'm not afraid of gossip, so why should you be? Do you have a date or something tonight? Or do you just feel uneasy around me?"

Mia was joking, but she hit the mark. Kevin felt guilty. He didn't know what to say about leaving again, so he just sat quietly, watching the clock tick. He sighed inwardly, realizing Mia had disrupted his perfect plan.

Noticing Kevin's restlessness and distracted responses to her questions, Mia wondered if he really had a date. She suddenly thought of Camila and realized why Kevin was in a hurry. He was rushing to see Camila. Mia felt a pang of disappointment and a bit of resentment. She glanced at Kevin and tentatively asked, "Kevin, are you going to see Mrs. Cortez? If that's true, you can go. Don't keep her waiting." Kevin shuddered and shook his head, forcing a laugh. "No. Mia Wilson, really, there's nothing going on."

Although Mia Wilson already knew about his relationship with Camila Cortez, Kevin felt that the dynamics between the two women were quite delicate. It seemed like both were somewhat possessive of him but didn't want to show it in front of him. Kevin wasn't foolish enough to admit anything: Mia might be smiling on the outside while harboring resentment inside. He had seen two girls in class fight over a boy, using every trick in the book. Even though Mia was a mature woman, the petty nature of women wouldn't change.

"Really?" Mia smiled lightly, knowing Kevin wasn't telling the truth but choosing not to expose him. Instead, she felt a bit playful thinking, "If you won't tell me, I'll pretend I don't know and see who gets more anxious." She then deliberately chatted with Kevin about schoolwork, noticing his frequent glances at the clock and his growing impatience. She smirked inwardly, thinking, "Since you won't be honest, I won't make it easy for you."

Kevin regretted not being upfront. He realized that juggling three women at school would be a headache. In novels, the male lead often had many women around him, all getting along harmoniously. But Kevin found it challenging with just one and a half, feeling torn between them. Maybe he wasn't cut out to be a ladies' man after all.

The Letter of Guarantee

"By the way, didn't you say at noon that you'd write me a letter of guarantee?" Mia suddenly remembered, extending her smooth, white hand towards Kevin with a playful smile. "Where is it? You didn't write it, did you? Were you just lying to me?" Kevin recalled his words from noon. He had said it impulsively, not expecting Mia to take it seriously. Feeling embarrassed, he scratched his head and said, "Mia Wilson, I forgot. But I meant what I said."

"No problem, you can write it now." Mia said, standing up to get a piece of paper and a pen, and placing them in front of Kevin. "Alright, here's the paper and pen. Start writing."

Kevin was taken aback. She really wanted him to write it. He wasn't worried about writing it, he could easily write a thousand-word reflection for Camila Cortez in eighteen minutes. But this letter of guarantee was different. It couldn't be written carelessly. If it was too short, it would seem insincere. If it was too long, it would restrict him too much, leaving no room to develop his relationship with Mia. It seemed like Mia was trying to trap him.

But even so, Kevin wasn't deterred. He bit the pen for a moment, then started writing fluidly. After filling a page, he handed it to Mia, saying, "Mia Wilson, I'm done."

Mia took the paper, curious to see what Kevin had written. As she read, she couldn't help but laugh. Kevin had written a long preamble about his determination, ending with, "Mia Wilson, I promise not to do anything that makes you unhappy, not to say anything that makes you unhappy, and not to see anyone who makes you unhappy. Signed, Kevin."

"Alright. I'll accept this." Mia laughed, folding the paper and putting it away carefully. "I'll keep this letter safe. If you don't behave, I'll hold you accountable. Let's see how you can deny it then."
