"Commander Li, have you decided what to divine?" Wan Chaoxin asked with a smile as he watched Li Xiu accept the wooden box.
"I don't want to know things that haven't happened, and it seems there's nothing in particular I need to divine." Li Xiu replied casually.
"Everyone's here, and the gift has been given. Just ask about something you're curious about; it might help solve some troubles." Wan Chaoxin suggested.
Li Xiu understood the implication in Wan Chaoxin's words; he wanted him to divine something related to the Demon Armor group.
Li Xiu certainly wouldn't divine such matters; if he wanted to know about the Demon Armor group, he might as well directly ask Old Eight. Divining would leave things vague and uncertain, solving issues might be tough.
Mo liu chimed in, "If you don't want to ask about fortunes and omens, you could inquire about matters like marriage; that's not too bad."
"Instead of divining such things, why not ask about the longevity of parents; a little good luck couldn't hurt." Sun Gang remarked.
While the four were chatting, they heard someone pushing the door open, and they all looked over.
A middle-aged man dressed in a grand robe walked in. Although he appeared middle-aged, his hair was greying, his eyes carried stories, and he had an elegant demeanor, possessing an aura akin to celestial and mystical.
Seeing the middle-aged man enter, Wan Chaoxin, Mo liu, and Sun Gang stood up to greet him.
Though Sun Gang often expressed skepticism about such things, upon seeing Old Eight, his face lacked the usual disdain, instead welcoming him warmly.
"Old Eight, this is a token of my father's regard, please accept it with a smile." Sun Gang respectfully presented the prepared gift box.
Mo liu did the same, offering up a gift box.
Old Eight didn't look at their gift boxes; the butler behind him accepted them.
"Sun Bodang and Mo Ganyan used to love coming together; now their sons have grouped up too. I imagine your adults must have headaches?" Old Eight said with a smile.
"I didn't expect Old Eight to remember our fathers. We aren't as capable as our father and uncle, just causing minor troubles and embarrassments." Mo Liu said respectfully.
"Just a glance at your faces shows you're no pushovers, surpassing your fathers in prowess." Old Eight smiled, "Wait a moment; I'll divine a word for the Wan family's boy first, then chat with you."
"Old Eight, I'm not in a hurry," Wan Chaoxin said with a smile.
"You're not in a hurry, but I am. There are many more waiting for word divinations; no time to waste here." Old Eight laughed, "I am akin to your elder; feel free to mention anything you want to divine or ask."
Old Eight said as his gaze swept over the remaining seated individuals in the Bamboo Hall. Upon entering, he noticed someone still seated, thinking, "Who is so rude, sitting while I am standing, showing no manners at all?"
Only then did Wan Chaoxin, Mo liu, and Sun Gang notice that Li Xiu was still sitting there drinking tea, not standing to greet Old Eight.
Mo liu secretly cursed, Sun Gang repeatedly signaled to Li Xiu, while Wan Chaoxin frowned slightly.
Though Li Xiu held the esteemed position of Commander, his foundation was not yet stable. Displaying such arrogance in front of Old Eight seemed excessive.
Even veteran Commanders visiting Old Eight would most likely treat him with respect, at best claiming camaraderie; none would dare sit like Li Xiu, as if waiting for Old Eight to approach and pay respects. This was courting trouble.
Li Xiu's behavior made Wan Chaoxin reconsider whether pulling Li Xiu into his camp was a wise decision.
Seeing clearly who was seated, Old Eight was momentarily stunned, then immediately approached.
Wan Chaoxin and the others anticipated trouble, but Old Eight came to Li Xiu and unexpectedly called, "Fourth Brother."
Wan Chaoxin and the others thought their ears must have malfunctioned, surely they'd heard wrong.
Old Eight appeared to be in his forties, yet his actual age could be counted as their grandfather's generation, and indeed it was.
Li Xiu was so young; even if they were cross-generational friends, calling him 'young friend' would be a grand honor. How could Old Eight possibly call the younger Li Xiu 'Fourth Brother'?
It wasn't until Old Eight affectionately called 'Fourth Brother' again that Wan Chaoxin and the others confirmed they hadn't heard wrong, exchanging odd glances between Old Eight standing and Li Xiu seated.
"Fourth Brother, when did you arrive? Why didn't you notify me first? I would have arranged a banquet to welcome you." Old Eight privately called Li Xiu 'Old Fourth' but respectfully addressed him as 'Fourth Brother' in public.
"I heard that the Celestial Master of the Eternal Heaven is incredibly accurate at word divination, so I just came along to see the excitement. I didn't expect the Celestial Master to be you, Old Eight." Li Xiu laughed.
"Old Butler, please make arrangements; we won't be doing any word divination today, I have an esteemed guest to entertain," Old Eight instructed his butler.
The butler responded and departed, while Wan Chaoxin, Mo liu, and Sun Gang's expressions grew even more peculiar.
Li Xiu being addressed as 'Fourth Brother' seemed not just a simple title. Judging by Old Eight's demeanor, there seemed to be genuine respect for Li Xiu.
Someone who could make the Celestial Master personally entertain him, even willing to dismiss the long-waiting noble descendants outside, there probably weren't many like that in the Eternal Heaven.
