When "God" Decides To Start Over

Chapter 212: What's Missing Isn't Demon Armor

"The City Lord of the City of Light, Li Xiu?" The Eighth Master was slightly taken aback.

"Yes, Eighth Master, that Sha Chu is staying at his house now, acting recklessly and disregarding everyone. His ability to become the Commander likely has the backing of the Li Family. We truly have no other recourse, so we've come to seek your help, Eighth Master," Han Minghui said.

"What do you want me to do?" The Eighth Master inwardly sneered.

"We wouldn't dare trouble you to act personally, we only ask that you predict a word for us, to see if we have the fortune to bring him down," Han Minghui said.

The Eighth Master naturally understood Han Minghui's intention; they wanted him to find an opportunity to finish off Li Xiu.

The Eighth Master pretended to ponder, "Then write a word, and I'll predict it for you."

Han Mingshou and Han Minghao rejoiced, while Han Minghui remained expressionless, dipping her finger in the tea and writing the character "Li" on the tea table.

Han Minghui had her reasons for choosing this character "Li". Li Xiu carries the surname Li, unexpectedly rising to be Commander upon entering the organization. She suspected whether Li Xiu indeed had ties with the Li Family.

If Li Xiu truly belonged to the Li Family, then to move against Li Xiu, one must be fully prepared and guard against the Li Family.

The Eighth Master immediately understood Han Minghui's thoughts upon seeing the character "Li".

After observing the character for a while, the Eighth Master spoke, "Mu-zi 'Li', this character seems quite ominous."

"Eighth Master, how so? Upon whom does this ominousness befall?" Han Minghui asked.

"With 'Mu' beneath a 'Zi', it signifies dead wood coming back to life, a situation where everything revives and flourishes. You wrote this 'Li' word with water. When you combine 'Mu' with three drops of water, it becomes 'Mu', which in ancient times meant washing the hair with flowing water. Adding water to 'Zi' becomes 'Zai', homophonous with a word meaning swimming skills."

"Dead wood is reborn when washed by water, changes appearance to embrace new opportunities, riding the winds and waves to ascend the skies; how can this 'Mu-zi' be of the human world? This person's fate is invaluable and also blessed beyond words; if you act against him, you naturally invite disaster." The Eighth Master spoke slowly.

The expressions of the three Han Minghuis were unpredictable, having not expected such an outcome.

"Eighth Master, is this person related to Li?" Han Minghui fixed her gaze on the Eighth Master and asked.

The Eighth Master understood what Han Minghui wanted to ask; she was inquiring whether Li Xiu had any connection with the president.

Rumors outside already suggested Li Xiu was the president's illegitimate son, but Han Minghui hadn't believed it initially.

Yet after hearing the Eighth Master's prediction, Han Minghui began to doubt her judgment.

The Eighth Master took another careful look at the character "Li" on the table. In the time passed, parts of the tea-written character "Li" had dried up.

Now, upon reevaluation, all that remained visible were the strokes of "Shi" and "Ding". After observing for a while, the Eighth Master also displayed ambiguity, hesitant to speak.

"Eighth Master, is there something you can't say? If it's inconvenient, just leave it unsaid." Han Minghui hurriedly said.

If the Eighth Master truly couldn't say, then she knew the answer.

The Eighth Master shook his head, "It's not that I can't say; it's just somewhat strange."

"What's strange about it?" Han Mingshou asked.

"Look at this 'Li' character now, only 'Shi' and 'Ding' remain. 'Shi' is the sum of nine and one, traditionally considered a complete number. But nine is already an ultimate number, adding one renders it less beautiful; too much perfection is a flaw in itself. If we only look at this 'Shi' character, this person should not be related to Li. But adding this 'Ding' character, it becomes entirely different. Related yet unrelated, this character cannot be measured."

"How does it become entirely different?" Han Minghui asked.

"I cannot say... I cannot say..." The Eighth Master shook his head, "I cannot predict this character anymore; I have already said all that needed saying. What decisions to make are up to you to contemplate."

Han Mingshou wanted to say something more, but was stopped by Han Minghui, who then saluted the Eighth Master and took her leave.

"Why didn't you let me clarify? So many gemstones, and yet we only got such obscure words. Isn't that a bit too much?" After stepping out, Han Mingshou said with a gloomy face.

But Han Minghui said calmly, "He has already said everything; you just didn't understand."

"What did he say?" Han Mingshou asked in confusion, and Han Minghao also didn't understand what was meant.

"Add an element of 'Ding', and you still don't understand?" Han Minghui indicated Han Mingshou.

"Add an element of 'Ding'... Add a 'Ding'... doesn't that mean 'Tian Ding'?" Han Mingshou shuddered with fright, exclaiming, "Could it be that Li Xiu is really..."

"I cannot say... If even the Eighth Master dare not speak it... how could we?" Han Minghui stopped Han Mingshou, preventing him from finishing his sentence.

"Is the Eighth Master's prediction accurate? Why don't I believe it?" Han Mingshou was unwilling to accept this result, as accepting it would mean giving up the Demon Spirits and contracts left by the old Commander.

"Better believe it exists than not, let's observe for a while," Han Minghui's attitude was very clear.

After Han Minghui and her group left, the Eighth Master stared at the table in contemplation.

Originally, he only intended to deceive the three Han Minghuis so they wouldn't trouble Li Xiu.

But what he had predicted didn't allow him to continue deceiving.

Because what he said indeed matched the signs revealed by the characters.

"Strange, Old Four's fate is quite peculiar; this is already a non-human appearance... Related to Li and unrelated, how do I interpret that?" The Eighth Master pondered for a moment before suddenly dipping his finger in tea and tracing over the path of the previously written "Li" character, engraving another "Li" character on the table.
