Surviving These Unfair Scenarios [LITRPG - DIMENSION HOPPING]

Chapter 221 - The Unseen Strike

The battle raged with a terrifying, absolute ferocity, a clash of colossal wills that tore through the silent, obsidian architecture of the palace. The combined chaos of the Giant Killer's monstrous strength and Kazue's unpredictable elemental command had momentarily overcome the brute force of the branded dragon.

The black fire tornado, launched by Dora and channeled through Kazue's voice, had struck Dravhark's head with a devastating, concussive force, snapping the dragon's immense neck sideways. Emir, seizing the precious opening, brought its massive, gold-charged claw down in a devastating, rapid arc, aiming directly for Dravhark's left eye—the sole functional eye remaining after the crippling mark left by his father.

The Giant Killer's focus was absolute, and the attack was delivered with tremendous might. The colossal impact landed squarely on the dragon's face, causing a terrible, bone-jarring sound and drawing a torrent of black, corrupted blood.

Dravhark responded with a primeval, agonizing roar that ripped through the air, the pain of the physical blow compounded by the humiliation of the assault. However, even in his pain, the dragon's eternity of combat instinct asserted itself. Utilizing a lightning-fast counter-attack, Dravhark's single intact left claw shot forward, a colossal, spear-like weapon of razor-sharp bone and scale, striking the monstrous head of the Emir with an equal, devastating force. The impact sent a catastrophic, metallic shriek through the massive monster's body, a sound of grinding metal and shrieking energy.

The monstrous form of the Giant Killer let out a piercing, high-pitched scream of pain.

Kazue, whose focus remained razor-sharp despite the chaos, did not hesitate for a second. With the weird, ecstatic joy that her personal skill granted, she instantly began to act, drawing on her immense control over the elemental forces. She invoked her [High Plasma Manipulation] skill, and a blinding, brilliant sphere of pure plasma energy materialized in her hand. Still, instead of launching it as a simple, destructive beam, as was the typical application of the ability, she combined it with the use of her [Toon Physics Manipulation].

The plasma instantly solidified, holding its volatile, incandescent energy in a single point, which she immediately stretched and shaped into a massive, shimmering javelin. She then began to move with an erratic, fluid grace that defied all logic, her body darting and weaving through the massive space, moving in a seemingly random pattern, always smiling and containing her profound joy at the sheer chaos she was creating. She searched for the perfect opening, an angle that no normal fighter would ever attempt to use.

The javelin launched from her hand, with its flight immediately abandoning a straight trajectory. The solid plasma spear began to serpent through the air like a living thing, weaving and ducking through the immediate space around the dragon's body, avoiding any potential collision with his massive form, until it reached its precise target: the interior of Dravhark's open maw.

The plasma erupted violently inside the dragon's skull, causing a devastating internal shockwave that made the dragon stumble backward, a massive, involuntary motion that left him entirely vulnerable to the Giant Killer's immediate follow-up. The monster instantly delivered a crushing headbutt directly to the dragon's neck, the impact immediately causing a crippling surge of concentrated electricity that only added to the terrifying accumulation of damage the dragon was absorbing.

Dravhark, however, refused to fall. Despite the unrelenting punishment, despite the agony of the divine brand that burned on his face, his immense will refused to yield. The colossal dragon quickly recovered, his movements still sluggish but regaining a terrifying degree of coordination, and he launched into a desperate, continuous exchange of physical power with the Giant Killer.

Four more grueling paragraphs of brutal, massive exchange followed, the two titans trading blows with equal force. The impacts were a continuous roar of thunder, metal, and cracked stone, and both monsters inflicted equal, tremendous damage upon the other… However, little by little, Dravhark, relying on pure, unyielding instinct, slowly began to adapt to his enemies' attacks, managing to block Emir's blows and, even worse, the unpredictable, chaotic attacks of Kazue, managing to deflect her seemingly erratic plasma bursts and guantlet strikes even though they defied all logical trajectory.

It was in the middle of the frantic exchange, Dravhark managed to land a decisive counter. He snapped his massive jaws, trapping the miniature fire dragon, Dora, in his teeth, and with a single, savage movement, he crushed the fiery form, utterly disintegrating it. The momentary victory was short-lived, as the thousands of brilliant black fragments of fire that had been scattered by the crushing blow instantly coalesced, gathering back together as if drawn by an invisible, powerful magnet.

A moment later, Dora reappeared, fully formed, its fiery eyes blinking, completely unharmed. Kazue, moving through the air, smiled with pride and clapped her hands together with a clear, joyous sound.

"That's a good girl, Dora! Did everyone see that trick? Very impressive!"

While the two titans clashed, Adam, now entirely reliant on the precision of his small mechanical companion, was flying completely blind with his spectral wings across the battlefield. He was being guided by Falk, whose urgent voice was the only thing preventing his immediate demise. However, the infinitesimal delay between Falk's vocal command and the boy's physical reaction meant that he was only able to avoid catastrophic blows by the narrowest of margins, his body frequently grazed by the crossfire of the massive, clashing monsters.

"Execute a sharp roll to the left! Immediately!"

Falk's voice commanded through the air, sharp and demanding. Adam instantly complied, twisting his body violently in the air, the massive, whipping tail of the Giant Killer missing him by mere inches.

"My apologies…"

Falk said, the mechanical chirps in his voice betraying a hint of strain.

"The technical limitations of this body are just too big. Try to keep up!"

Adam grunted, the impact of a stray rock fragment catching him in the chest, and the pain was a cold, sharp reminder of his own fragility.

"Just tell me where to go! I will manage the rest!"

He continued his terrifying, high-speed flight, his spectral wings beating furiously, enduring the constant barrage of hits and near misses, until he finally reached his destination: a terrifying position directly in front of Dravhark's chest, positioned precisely in the middle of a brutal exchange of blows between the dragon, Emir, and Kazue. Fortunately, his blind presence in the heart of the melee was completely unnoticed by the enraged dragon.

Falk's voice, now high-pitched with an urgent excitement, delivered the critical information.

"Here! The strongest electromagnetic pulse is centered directly in front of you! The core is there!"

Adam did not hesitate. He plunged his cursed spear, the 'Az'Karul's Versebreaker', deep into the well of cursed energy he still held within him, channeling the maximum power he could muster, and with a single, unyielding motion, he launched the massive weapon forward with all his might.

The spear struck the dragon's chest like a destructive missile, and the impact caused a horrifying, deep wound, a gash that was terrifyingly profound. However, it was not enough. The concentrated, natural defense of the dragon's massive body proved too resilient, and the spear failed to pierce the armor completely. Dravhark instantly screamed in pain and surprise, immediately sensing the treacherous, sudden appearance of the tiny human.

He reflexively tore his attention from the colossal Giant Killer, launching a devastating claw swipe directly at Adam.

Falk realized the danger too late, his voice filled with panicked urgency.

"Adam! Retreat! Now! The right side!"

The proximity of the immense dragon to the boy was just too much, and Adam was physically incapable of reacting in time. The immense claw struck him with brutal, catastrophic force, launching his body sideways with a terrifying velocity. The blow should have been instantly fatal, a crushing, devastating impact that would have shattered his whole body, but in the midst of the flight, Adam felt a sudden, powerful resistance, a cushioned wall that stopped his momentum abruptly in mid-air... It was a strange, powerful, yet soft hand of pure wind that had caught him just before he could impact the stone.

Adam, still blinded and utterly disoriented from the catastrophic blow, felt the relief of the impact being negated. He was sore, his healing factor immediately kicking into overdrive to knit together the snapped bones he felt in his chest and arm, and a moment later, Kazue appeared above him, hovering upside down with her immense, radiant smile shining in the darkness.

"Hey! What brings you out here, Adam?"

Kazue asked, her voice filled with a genuine, friendly surprise. Adam, still disoriented and recovering from the terrible blow, simply sighed, not registering the oddity of her inverted position or her out-of-pocket question.

"Falk located that Dravhark seems to possess a Core, similar to the Draclings, which is located in his chest. We think that it can be stopped if we attack it."

Kazue tilted her head, her smile unwavering, a clear sign that she had missed the entire point of the strategic discussion.

"I didn't understand anything you just said! But that's cool!"

Adam sighed, the pain a constant, cold pressure. He repositioned his fractured right arm with a grimace of pain.

"Just help me, please."

Adam said, his voice raw with urgency.

"I need you to clear the center for me, or at least distract Dravhark enough. I still cannot see anything."

Kazue's eyes widened, a sudden, surprising realization dawning on her face.

"Oh! So that's why you had your eyes closed! I thought you were just resting them!"

Adam gave a frustrated, confused sound.

"What?"

But then Kazue gave him a final, decisive nod, her smile returning in full force.

"Aye, aye, captain! I'll handle the rest!"

The hand of pure wind gently launched Adam forward once more, and the cursed spear, instantly ripped itself free from the dragon's hide, flying back to its master. Falk, who had immediately remounted Adam's shoulder, delivered the urgent assessment.

"The attack did not penetrate the armor completely! The dragon's defense in that specific area is far more resilient than the rest of his body. We will require multiple strikes!"

Adam accepted the grim truth with a final nod, extending his spectral wings and launching himself back into the chaotic fray, prepared to follow Falk's guidance, only this time, he had the direct support of Kazue.

"Dodge left! Now!"

Falk screamed, his voice strained. Adam immediately plunged into a violent dive, narrowly avoiding a massive chunk of stone that Dravhark had ripped from the wall.

"Up! Immediate ascent! He is sweeping the floor!"

Falk commanded. The boy shot upward, his wings blurring as he ascended, clearing the devastating claw swipe that carved a massive gouge into the obsidian floor. Just as he reached the apex of his ascent, he was perfectly positioned. He aimed his entire body and launched the spear forward again, the deadly missile flying toward the exposed chest.

However, Dravhark, having already been burned once, was expecting the attack. He immediately launched a massive claw swipe toward Adam, intending to end the pest once and for all.

But Kazue was already there, her own metallic gauntlets and Dora intercepting the blow. The two of them managed to deflect the massive claw just enough to throw the strike off-target, buying Adam the precious fraction of a second he needed. The spear landed true, impacting the exact same spot as before, drawing a greater volume of corrupted blood. It caused more damage, but still, it was not enough. Adam sighed, the frustration a cold weight in his chest… This would not be easy at all.
