"Of all the people that room together they really picked the son of one for the four dukes and a prince of the king?" Bryson complained loudly as they had received their bags and were now unpacking.
"Odds are strange for that to occur." Reynard agreed, "But knowing my family they probably pulled the strings a little." He said as he lifted his multiple bags up with ease and entered their apartment.
"Why is that?" Bryson asked as he levitated his bags in after Reynard.
"My father knows that you and I had a positive relationship in the past, also we only met briefly compared to the other people I would know." Reynard said as he looked around the apartment, "Which room do you want?"
"The one that doesn't have sunlight hit the bed directly." Bryson said, "And why would the king set something up so specific?"
"My family… is very peculiar with me. They want me to be with friendly people, but just not people of power that my family is already familiar with." Reynard said as he moved his bags into the other room.
"Your siblings wouldn't want you making allies that might help you secure the throne." Bryson guessed.
"Yes." Reynard said with a laugh, "Funny considering that I'm pretty far down the line of succession that a few older cousins would have more claim than me, obviously aside from the princes and princess, the dukes all come before me."
"What of your sister? Does she hold a similar position as you?" Bryson asked as his bags were now in his room.
"No, she's in a better position. Hence she isn't in U class like me." He said as he sat on one of his larger bags.
"Oh you know about U class's infamous reputation."
"Hard not to when you get mocked by others." Reynard said with a weak laugh.
"Mocked? You?" Bryson said in surprise as he looked at the prince in surprise, "Not much love from your elders I see."
"No, sadly not, but they're not all bad. Just the competitive ones."
"Those would be?"
"The ones in line to the throne."
"So almost all your siblings."
"Yeah…" Reynard said head bowed down.
"Man, that is a sad life." Bryson said as he pondered for a moment, "Do you think I'm in higher standing than you then?"
"Uh, well you may be the son of the duke, but I think I am more important than you… I think." Reynard said not sounding very sure.
"Interesting." Bryson said curiously as he thought about the prospect. I wonder if I could use him, eh. Won't be too hard on him. Bryson then thought for a moment, "You don't even have any servants do you?"
"No, I was never close enough to any of them to have them join me." Reynard said, "But you don't have any either."
"No, my father wants me to be self-sufficient." Bryson said, "Though considering who I would have brought with me, I would say this is an upgrade."
"I doubt they would give you someone that useless."
"Meh." Bryson said with a shrugged.

"Okay." Reynard said getting up from his suitcase, "I think it's time to head for our tour. Which group are you?"
"Thirty-three." Bryson said as he looked at his stuff and decided that he would unpack it all at night.
"Shame, I got twenty-one." Reynard said as he turned to see Bryson already leaving the room, "Oh, I'll see you later then." He called out.

Bryson along with five other students, stood around a third-year student council member who addressed them. He was a tall and thin man with short silver and lavender hair and square-rimmed glasses. His uniform was neatly ironed out and well maintained, and he had a narrow jaw, and through his narrower still eyes was a piercing grey gaze.
"Hello, my name is Melvin Duslight and I will be your tour guide today. I will do my utmost to answer any questions you have." He explained, "Now follow me, I shall show you the classrooms for the first-year classes."
"As we walk, I would like to know all your names." Melvin said and one by one each of the students told them their names. When it came to Bryson Coldwater, Melvin seemed to purposefully brush past it. Bryson not really minding, simply followed in silence.
With this tour of the area Bryson was able to get a good view of everything that was being offered here. The cafeteria which they were in earlier was a vast place with several different chefs and cooks ready to serve all sorts of foods. In fact all across The Academy were small stores, vending machines and stalls that sold all sorts of foodstuffs to people.
They explored the other areas of student housing, training fields, smithing areas, archery, obstacle course, even where students can lounge around, among other places. Though as they explored Bryson noticed something, they barely covered any of the areas Bryson would need to be.
All the classes they covered were all combat-based, save for the mandatory classes such as English, math, and others. Bryson looked around at the group he was the only pure mage among them. A few looked to have a few magic courses that they were taking, but they were all mainly fighters it seemed.
"Excuse me." Bryson said politely to Melvin. Bryson frowned a bit when he was ignored, "I have a question."
Melvin gave a dramatic sigh as he halted the group in the middle of the school hallways and he slowly turned to Bryson, "Yes? What is so important that you need me to halt the tour for?" Melvin said in an exasperated tone.
Bryson's eyes widened ever so slightly as he tilted his head slightly to the left. Oh, we're playing this game then. Bryson thought half irritated and half amused, "Oh there is no need to stop for the question I had. But if you struggle with answering unprepared questions then ignore me please."
Melvin gave an unamused sniff as he realized this game that he started, "No, please, I should not leave a Coldwater unattended." He said sweetly.
Ah, he has a problem with my name. Man is my name not doing me any favors the last few days. Bryson realized, "I was just noticing how it seemed that you haven't visited any of the classrooms that focus on the arcane arts. I was simply curious when we would get to see them."
"Impatience is not a good virtue, you should learn to wait."
"My apologies, it's just that you seemed to miss a couple of the arcane classes near the cafeteria. I was worried you couldn't remember your way around the school." Bryson said.
From Melvin's narrow eyes Bryson saw a testy glare as Melvin gave a sweet smile. But before the conversation could continue, another group walked by them, Penny's group.
"Oh hi there." Penny said greeting them, "Is something wrong?" She asked looking over to the tall Melvin.
"No, no it's nothing. What are you doing here?" Melvin said slowly looking at her, unhappy of her arrival.
"I just came back leading my group from the arcane area." Penny said before glancing over to Bryson, "Have you seen it yet Lord Coldwater?"
"Not yet, Melvin here hasn't shown us the area yet." Bryson said.
"Oh, well we don't have much time left, you should show them around the place now." Penny advised Melvin, "Wouldn't look good for you if you missed it."
"Yes I suppose I was lagging a bit." Melvin said coolly, "Where's your sidekick?"
"I am right here." Eva said moving up from the back.
"Lagging behind is not good for your character Eva." Melvin said.
"I needed to take care of my Bugs." Eva said lifting up the stuffed bear.
"Hmm. Well, come, let us see the classes for mages." Melvin said as he led his group away from Penny's after he looked unimpressed at both Eva and Penny.
Penny gave a small wave of goodbye to Bryson as she stuck her tongue out at the back of Melvin. Didn't expect that to happen. Bryson thought. I wonder how many problems Melvin will cause me this year.
"Please wait a moment." Melvin said, halting the group after they made it to the first hallway for the magic section of the school, "I'm going to need to check the classes first to make sure we don't interrupt any other groups. Please wait here everyone."
That's going to waste a lot of time. Whatever, as long as I can end this day smoothly. Bryson thought to himself inwardly as his group proceeded to participate in a longer-than-usual tour before finally heading back home.
