Welcome to Metem; an elaborate world of danger, magic, and mystery. Where adventurers whisper of shadows and slay monsters for levels and loot. With a broken interface and an unresponsive log out phrase; Cory has decisions to make. Decisions like: is this real life, is this just fantasy? Queen lyrics aside, our MC sobers up in an empty stone chamber with four mirrors, simulating pre-game character selection. In the hopes that the system will correct itself and let him exit, Cory sets out to explore this new land. After enough bumps, bruises, and self-deprecation Cory needs to accept this new reality in the hope that he can make his way home. Follow Cory as he is pulled into Metem and starts his journey with the familiar taste of rock bottom. Reluctantly, he moves forward into a deluge of unforgiving encounters, dynamic personas, and formidable quests; all in a vain attempt to survive. Is he competent? Mostly. Is he mature? Kind of. Will he be able to complain his way out of this one? Probably not, but dammit he’ll try.
