A clash between a god and an immortal master who has obtained Dao was ferocious. No matter what degree of difficulty the actual fight was, any clash of that level resulted in titanic reverberations.
Da Hai was a Limitless Supreme Chaos Immortal with a Dao that was capable of propagating others. Zeus was a Godking who was charged with repelling threats from the Hellenistic Chaos World. The first and last line of defence in most cases.
Even though they fought exclusively within one specific layer of that universe. Their presence spiraled across all of that Chaos World, being felt as high as the upper air and as low as the pit.
Weather patterns changed, landscapes altered, unlucky individuals would've been pulverized on the spot.
Yet even outside the Chaos World, these aftershocks emanated. From the near Chaos Sea and distant minor Chaos Worlds. It was not simple beings fighting after all.
Even though no major destruction occurred in these far off places, people with higher cultivation could feel something was off.
Landmasses would shake subtlety. Seas would ripple with no cause. The heavens aligned into weird many celestial phenomenas.
But this was only the near Chaos Sea. Great distances for sure, larger than any Golden Immortal could travel within a chaos cycle(yuanhui).
Fact is, the Chaos Sea was so large that even a universe as great as the Hellenistic Chaos World was a spec. Even Da Hai flexing his powers was unprovable for people not near him.
For as great of even this duel with Zeus was, it was actually incredibly localized.
And on another section of the Chaos Sea, another brawl was about to take place.
…
A spark of light appeared many chaos cycles ago. Cosmic years where an entire universe would live and die occurred before wandering individuals realized what it was.
A treasure embryo.
A single thought cross their minds immediately. A term that denizens of the Three Realms would call, "xiantian spiritual treasure."
Born out of the clashing energy of the Chaos Sea, these were innate existences. All of whom were ideal weapons for creatures who'd obtained Dao.
And as such, powerhouses started showing up.
At first, it was only a few low levels experts. Those equivalent to Golden Immortals who thought themselves smart and kept the embryo hidden.
But then higher level experts arrived and chased them away. This was until eventually, a being who'd obtained the Dao arrived. Multiple in fact.
The treasure embryo resembled a spiralling galaxy. It was still gestating, yet to reach its mature form. But one could already tell that its grade would not be low.
A man sitting on a throne with many women fawning over him stared ahead with anticipation. He was extraordinarily handsome, and possessed the aura of a noblemen.
He had the cultivation equivalent of a Primal Origin Chaos Immortal. Even the women draping themselves over him were not weaklings. The lowest were Great Unity Golden Immortals, while the strongest was a Great Principle Chaos Immortal.
"Pathetic. How could dignified Primal Chaos experts reduce themselves to trophies." Another man declared as he manifested himself in this space.
As an aside, Primal Chaos was what he knew the realm to be. Not all cultures cultivated to be Immortals. A very common name for the Chaos Immortal realm was just Primal Chaos.
"Ah…it's you. Welcome to my domain Heaven Sundering War God," the handsome man said.
"Propogation Emperor," Heaven Sundering War God said in turn. They were old acquaintances after all.
"You are weak in combat. Out of respect for our previous relation, this lord demands you vacate this space," he continued.
The new entry had not improved his Dao into the Primal Origin level, and was only the equivalent of a Great Principle Chaos Immortal. But his combat strength was terrifying, easily surpassing the Primal Origin Chaos Immortal Propagation Emperor.
Propagation Emperor sneered, the women beside him also sneered. Together, they were a united force. A father and the mothers of his innumerable descendants.
Before ascended to the third order, he was famous for impregnating numerous women. His army consisting of his own children was even the basis of his Dao.
"This seat disagrees."
"This seat also disagrees."
Both great powers were startled as a third Primal Origin Chaos Immortal made himself known. An inhuman one who never bothered to compress into a Dao body. In terms of appearance, it resembled a giant tree littered with faces.
A majestic oak large enough for its leaves to be worlds. The faces adoring its trunk had a variety of expressions, ranging from bliss to grief.
"You are…" Propagation Emperor took a few moments to recall. Numerous experts existed after all, and the Chaos Sea was large enough for most to never meet.
Even he only knew Heaven Sundering War God because they both originated from the same Chaos World.
"I am Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor. This treasure embryo has been watched by this seat for five cycles. This seat was polite and didn't chase you away seeing as you were a fellow daoist. But this seat will not tolerate disturbances," the tree said with no small amount of arrogance.
"Ten Thousand…I do not recall," Heaven Sundering War God muttered. Neither did his acquaintance as both struggled to identify the name.
It was not until one of Propagation Emperor's wives whispered into his ear that this expert found out.
"Ah, it's this old tree. So this is where you went after disappearing from the Prime Origin City all those cycles ago," the progenitor of numerous children confidently said.
Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor ignored the comment. It was clear he was just parroting whatever his wives said. Unlike these two, he knew who they were.
"A wastrel who fucked his way into Dao and a meathead who doesn't even comprehend the importance of Dao comprehension," the old tree cultivator sneered.
"Neither of you are a match for me. This embryo was found by this seat long ago. Since you two are friendly with Prime Origin Monarch, I can give him some face and let you go."
"What boasts. A piece of wood dares to look down on me," Heaven Sundering War God was not convinced. Instead getting into a battle stance.
Among the three, his Dao was the weakest and most simplistic. In fact, he never saw the importance of it in the first place. He only formed it by accident being so single handedly focused on strength as a concept.
Strength to break anything was his motto. It doesn't matter how fancy your Dao is, as long as he can punch it to pieces. Absolute absurd strength.
"Hmph."
The tree's faces was not intimidated either. It was alive when both these cultivators broke out of their Chaos World. It was also active when those two ventured to the nearest cultivator community and began their journey in the Chaos Sea.
It always thought Prime Origin Monarch had too much of a bleeding heart.
Poisonous roots that were cultivated from the burnt existences of numerous third order celestial lifeforms, headed out to attack. They were met by courageous fists from a man who tore through every challenge in his way.
Above the treasure embryo's eternal light, two mighty figures clashed. Ripples of their energy sent the near Chaos Sea spiralling. The hot friction of their clashes would no doubt attract even more attention.
Not that either was concerned. Their realm already sat at an apex in the Chaos Sea.
"Husband, we should snatch the embryo while we have the chance. Then we can head home and enjoy ourselves," the female Chaos Immortal sultrily said.
"A most brilliant suggestion beloved. Unfortunately, it's busy absorbing chaotic qi. I fear disturbing it will lower its potential quality. Isn't that right dearest fairy?"
The second women he addressed, his wife who was a treasure forging expert, nodded in agreement. Despite only being newly promoted to a Golden Immortal Equivalent, she was very knowledgeable, only held back due to her low raw talent. She was however, expected to thrive in the third order, due to her high comprehension.
Yet as Propagation Emperor watched the fight, he noticed a shadow blitzing its way towards the embryo. Evidently, it was trying to snatch it in the commotion.
"Thinking this seat is so easily distracted? You must not put I, Propagation Emperor in your eye."
His palm reached out, growing into an enormous size. Crossing the boundaries of constantly distorting reality was easy for him.
CLANG!
"Gah!"
Propagation Emperor winced, feeling a gash open up in his palm. Dao essence leaked out, spilling over the embryo and the shadow.
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
"Wait, isn't that…" his strongest wife exploded into action to aid her husband.
"Devil Hand Celestial Master playing concubine to that Luo Wanzi? Never thought I'd see the day," the new addition to the brawl said with saber in hand.
"Keep my husband's name out of your fucking mouth," she said. Her palms gained an ivory texture as they clashed against the saber in the man's hand.
Luo Wanzi was Propagation Emperor's real name. The man who harmed him was Devil Edge Celestial Master, a junior brother of the woman.
Gritting his teeth, Propagation Emperor got off his throne to assist his wife in combat. Devil Edge Celestial Master was a troublesome opponent due to his speed and his weapon, the Soul Splitting Saber.
He was also known to be an opportunistic fellow and no doubt saw this chance to obtain something good. He didn't even prioritize the xiantian spiritual treasure embryo's future quality, just that he had it.
"Fools, step away from what is mine!" Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor threw off Heaven Sundering War God to confront the other three high level experts.
Not to be outdone, Heaven Sundering War God went after them too. This kickstarted an epic brawl where no side seemed to gain an advantage.
Chaos Immortals were all apex existences, rare to the extreme. Most beings wandering the Chaos Sea were only Golden Immortals with the odd Great Unity Golden Immortal.
For someone to find and develop their Dao was already a miracle. That was why five individuals on that level fighting was a rare sight.
Fist, roots, screams, hands, blades. Techniques of all kinds were thrown around, both offensive and defensive.
Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor was the clear strongest, yet even he couldn't gain a clear advantage.
Each hit sustained was an injury that would take years to heal, even from the weak Propagation Emperor. Each hit spilled Dao essence from their divine bodies.
The more they fought, the more ripples that spiralled out through the Chaos Sea. Even spectators had to keep a really far distance lest they be grinded into dust.
The only thing unaffected was the treasure embryo that only glowed brighter. At this point, it was like its own sun.
None of them noticed that the excess Dao essence they blasted off each other was being absorbed by the embryo object. All of them couldn't put their attention elsewhere due to the level of battle they were fighting in.
However, even if they noticed, they would not be angered. If the treasure could absorb more of their essence, it'll not only grow stronger, but gain an affinity for them.
In the distance, Propagation Emperor's throne had already flown away. His weaker wives sought desperate shelter from the sheer magnitude of the chaos.
"Elder sister, do you think they'll be fine?."
"Of course you idiot. Our husband didn't become supreme by remaining ordinary."
A period of time passed with all combatants entering a rough stalemate. Around a tenth of a cycle in fact.
Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor was the clear favour out of all of them. So much so that the newcomer, Devil Edge cursed his own misfortune. He wanted to disengage, yet couldn't due to his own greed.
As long as there is opportunity, one must seize it.
"You all," the great tree called out. "I have a large deposits of ember crystals in w. I also posses multiple chaos islands. This seat is willing to negotiate."
It did this not out of fear for its own life, none of them had been pushed to that point. In reality, it was the healthiest one.
It simply did not want to spend an eternity fighting this group of cultivators. Hence it brought out what it knew was tempting offers.
"Don't try to trick us old fool," Propagation Emperor and his chief wife Devil Hand Celestial Master turned their attention to it.
Their twin palms met the face of Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor, halting his speech.
"Utter bastards!"
"A piece of wood who doesn't know strength shouldn't be talking," Heaven Sundering War God opening mocked.
Just then, the five fighters sensed another powerful expert approaching their location. The famed Prime Origin Monarch had arrived.
"Father in law…" Propagation Emperor tried to say, but he was shushed by Prime Origin Monarch's glance.
That's right, Luo Wanzi had in fact seduced Prime Origin Monarch's daughter many years ago.
"Causing such a big commotion so close to my cave." The monarch scoffed at the sight. He had come over to investigate after seeing a nearby chain of Chaos Worlds be torn apart by the ripples.
Ordinary universes were so fragile. The proximity of it did anger him. His cave wasn't only his private cultivation residence, it was also a dojo where he trained his disciples, as well as a shelter for wandering passerbys.
"A treasure embryo. At least high grade xiantian," he murmured. Desire flashed in his eye. He only possessed one such item, and that was after numerous years of cultivation too.
His palm instantly stretched outward, ignoring Propagation Emperor and Devil Hand Celestial Master. The pair felt awkward, inwardly vowed to return home to speak with their spouse about this.
"Fellow daoist is presumptuous," Ten Thousand Ways said. "This seat respects the monarch. But don't think you can snatch what is mine."
'This is good. These two apex beings may give me the opening I need.' Devil Edge was naturally happy. He was the most injured of the lot, having bled out the most from Devil Hand's vicious nails.
'Marriage hadn't weakened that woman at all.'
If Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor was powerful enough to fight off multiple Primal Origin Chaos Immortal adjacent beings, then Prime Origin Monarch was even greater.
He easily tore off multiple tree roots, and his own spell left a deep mark on the tree bark. Leaves and fruits were shaken off, turning into Dao essence for the embryo's vitality.
Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor was originally an innate spiritual root after all. An intrinsic part of nature that absorbed the profundities of heaven and earth. It was born at the dawn of his Chaos World, and ascended by absorbing the entire universe into himself.
"You are lucky I dislike killing sentient. Else I would've made a Dao pill out of you," Prime Origin Monarch scoffed at the resistance.
He had already pulled out his xiantian spiritual treasure, Crimson Gem Furnace. He was fully intending on trapping the tree cultivator and rip off parts of its body before letting it go.
…
"Interesting."
Some scribbling noises*
"Several eons of quiet absorbance. Then all of a sudden comes this level of action."
Some more scribbling*
"It appears this Prime Origin Monarch is about to decisively win. Hm, arresting the Sun. For all his benevolence, he still falls to greed."
A flip of a page and more scribbling*
"I would've thought the cursed tree would be most vicious given that it has eaten many a third order celestial beings to nourish this sun."
The observer tilted his baboon shaped head. "But the most benevolent one there is torturing it for parts too. How unseemly. Oh well, still within expectation."
"Even one as wise as I must resort to underhanded methods to advance. But such is the way of the cosmos. Even Ma'at must prove itself worthy to be maintained."
"Oh? He wants to arrest the Sun to his own solar domain? Oh no no no."
…
Prime Origin Monarch had already torn off Heaven Sundering War God's arm. Propagation Emperor and his wife meekly stood to the side while Devil Edge had seemingly fled.
The two most stubborn ones were beaten, then parts of their existence was cut off instead of pulverized. Prime Origin Monarch was more than powerful enough to do so.
"Evil creatures like you should be grateful to feed a future xiantian spiritual treasure."
The War God felt deeply wronged. What evil creature? He was competing fairly. If anyone was evil, it was Propagation Emperor and his dubious definition of consent.
He really wanted to complain to an authority, but knew he couldn't. Ordinarily, beings like him were the supreme authority. Failing that, Prime Origin Monarch was the head honcho for a significant amount of land.
In his heart, he swore to develop his strength further. Screw Prime Origin and his Dao, strength was all that mattered. In the future, he'll tear him apart with his bare hands.
The less said about Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor's situation, the better. Its core was in the process of being dragged into the cauldron. No matter what methods it employed, it couldn't overpower the superior Prime Origin Monarch.
Unlike before, where it fought undaunted by four other Chaos Immortals, it was currently as helpless as a child. A testament of the insane difference in ability that existed within this realm.
"Hold on, let's talk about this Prime Origin," it said. "You have already taken most of my body. Any more and you'll harm my true self!"
Prime Origin Monarch raised a brow. That was the idea wasn't it? Ten Thousand Ways didn't need all of his existence intact to continue persisting. It really should've known better than to pick a fight in the first place.
"Gah don't force me. I have a benefactor who is mightier than you! I have already crushed a talisman message. If you don't want to be trampled by his nine toes claw, retreat immediately. I can still send a message to call him off!"
Prime Origin Monarch scoffed at the tree's words. He had indeed sensed a message spell being tossed out as soon as he grabbed Ten Thousand Ways. But he dismissed it.
Who didn't know how strong Prime Origin Monarch was? He had wandered the Chaos Sea for numerous chaos cycles.
He had sparred against someone as arrogant as the far off Billion Buddha Ancestor from a flourishing cultivation orthodoxy and emerged intact. He had fought off incursions from arrogant godkings. Most recently, he'd also repelled an invasion of white winged beings.
His Dao had grown tremendously from the ordinary kind of Sundering War God. His combat ability was honed to insanity from years of experience unlike Propagation Emperor.
Truly, what did he need to fear from some backer a scumbag like Ten Thousand Ways could attract?
Ignoring the cries of the tree, he stuffed it into his treasure for the foreseeable future. Then he turned his attention to the glowing sun like treasure embryo.
Its radiant pulses had already affected him greatly. Instead of being bounced around in the chaos, thereby weakening its structural integrity, it had instead absorbed much of the clashing energy.
"Father in law is going to take it?" Propagation Emperor asked.
"A high grade xiantian spiritual treasure is safer being formed in my domain." Prime Origin Monarch didn't have any intention of waiting any longer.
While it may eventually form into a top grade xiantian spiritual treasure, who knows how many cycles that could take? Certainly long enough for strong Chaos Immortals to be born.
Such items were only really known from rumours in the first place. Infinitely closer to legendary chaos spiritual treasures then reality.
And what's more, taking the innate core to be forged into his own desired shape was better then randomly waiting for its own shape to form. More control over its function.
He reached out, his palm growing in size alongside his body. Appearing like a sun, the treasure embryo was extremely hot.
Prime Origin felt joy. Without distractions, he could detect extremely profound concepts within the treasure. Perhaps if he mediated in it, he could even gain valuable insights into improving his Dao.
It must've been gestating a long time in order to achieve this.
"Hm?"
His hand was unaffected by the extreme heat that could roast Great Unity Golden Immortals to charred meat. Yet reaching through the rays, he found a hard surface. Glass like.
The sun was blaring its rays, neither malevolent nor benevolent. It simply sat peacefully absorbing qi.
"Has it already formed?" Prime Origin Monarch pulled on the sun, intending to shove it into his personal dimension. The resistance was surprisingly hard.
Bands of text manifested around it as he pulled, bringing him to a pause. They were attempting to hold it in place.
"Young thing, it seems your intelligence has formed. Obey me. You do not need to stay ownerless in this chaotic plain anymore," he informed it.
Exerting great effort, he tore at the object. These weird symbols formed tight bands, but couldn't completely stop him.
"Huh? Were those always there?" The voice of Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor came through from within Prime Origin's cauldron. He was trapped, not invalid. His divine sense was still strong enough to observe the near space.
"Who is it? Come out for this lord."
Prime Origin suddenly demanded. Not to Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor of course.
The monarch had already deduced some things and corrected his earlier conclusion. The sun object wasn't budging due to someone else's interference.
Specifically, a pre-set spell. Prime Origin was immediately on guard, and didn't hesitate to flair up his cosmic idol.
His cultivation, despite also referring to the higher concept as 'Dao', condensed it the form of an idol. That was why, he manifested a giant behind him. It wasn't really there, merely a perceived form of his cultivation.
A cosmic being resembled a clay jar. Two blank eyes adorned its body while large arms replaced where the handles were supposed to be. The eyes also contained spiralling fiery energy, almost like clusters of stars.
"Would fellow daoist kindly introduce themselves?"
"Polite." The voice of a scholar appeared alongside a sitting figure who suddenly became visible. It was startling for those who prided themselves as almighty beings.
Yet it was very strange. This being reassembled a monkey with white fur. It was clearly a baboon who also wore a strange collar necklace blue, red, and gold in colour.
Calmly sitting on a stone, flipping and writing in his book. His eyes didn't once look up at Prime Origin Monarch.
"A…Universe God?" Prime Origin was startled. Universe God was his culture's equivalent of a Three Realms Golden Immortal.
He would've scoffed at the display were he not disturbed by the prospects that such a being could hide and stop him. This baboon had to be suppressing himself.
'But why? He isn't fooling anyone.'
Prime Origin didn't waste words. If this person wishes to stop him from claiming the sun, it didn't matter who was here first or who laid claim, they were enemies.
A wave of fire spewed from him.
"Violence is as always, the only solution," the baboon said nonchalantly. He proceeded to walk right through, his body unharmed by the flames.
Although they were a warning shot meant to intimidate, it wasn't normal for a Golden Immortal to be unharmed.
"A body cultivator? Some form of martial lineage?" Prime Origin aimed his fist.
"Eh, not quite." The baboon wasn't bothered by even the fist coming his way. As it neared, spacetime appeared to distort violently.
To an outside observer, Prime Origin's fist appeared to transform into primeval clay statues. The kind ancient humans used to carve out figurines, tablets, or utensils.
Both Propagation Emperor, and Heaven Sundering War God would've been beaten black and blue by this one move.
At the same time, the Sun who everyone thought was a treasure embryo emitted glaring light. But instead of an expected wave of heat, something else happened.
The baboon smiled slightly. The rays of light were segmented into straight arms. One of which shot past Prime Origin's ear, alongside his forearm, and halted the momentum of his punch.
The power of his Dao was also drowned out by the hot rays of the sun. This allowed the baboon to waltz his way towards it, book tucked under his arm.
"It's already been refined by you." Prime Origin did not let anger cloud him, calmly retracting his fist. "This is a trap then. An intentional bait for others."
"Hardly. You all just coveted what isn't yours." The baboon didn't feel like explaining much to begin with. If others didn't understand, then they were too slow to keep up.
Letting things like anger, or greed, or lust take over them. Such mortal designs were not suitable for celestials. The baboon didn't react outwardly, but he inwardly disdained them.
He'd merely placed the sun on top of an existing treasure embryo and allowed it to absorb the profundities of existence. That others mistook the sun as the treasure embryo was their own stupidity.
In reality, the embryo was long gone. But because the sun was effectively still acting as it, it continued to absorb different emerging concepts.
The Dao essences of these rest cultivators were no different. The baboon simply didn't feel the need to act unless threatened to.
He arrived at the sun uninterrupted, much to Prime Origin Monarch's chagrin. He quickly summoned his cauldron to slam into the primate.
"No matter what, I have laid claim to that treasure. Fellow daoist should move away less he be crushed." Under his control, the cauldron burned with power. Its bottom heated up so much, it resembled a falling meteorite.
In many ancient cultures, such objects were known as falling stars. Prime Origin's mortal birthplace was no different. Even after cultivating for so long, his mind didn't distinguish between suns, moons, or stars.
This was why this attack was called, "Origin Falling Star!"
This time, the light arms from the sun reacted. Converging on the cauldron, the sun minimalized the length of the diameter of its surface that was sending out light, concentrating them into a small spot. The light arms were like a single pillar as a result.
"Troublesome," the baboon sighed. He picked up the sun with little effort. The hieroglyphs that had stopped Prime Origin earlier didn't stop him.
"A sun created by oneself is not meant to be seized. The correct nomenclature for it is Aten. This Aten is mine," the baboon corrected the other cultivators. Then he placed it on his head
"Aten? The way he's talking. It's as if he's talking about the Dao." Prime Origin Monarch widened his eyes in realization. The trapped Ten Thousand Ways Ancestor cursed as he too realized it.
The Chaos Sea experienced a weird sense of order. The power thrown around by everyone appeared to merge into stillness.
Devil Edge, who'd been subtly slinking away found spacetime locked. He himself found it difficult to break out of the sudden trap.
"I was mistaken earlier senior, and am taking leave. Release me now," Devil Edge Celestial Master demanded. Though, it seems everyone was ignoring him.
In his monkey hands, the sun reduced its blinding light. Its shape was far more visible, more akin to a blue circular disk encased by glass. At its bottom was a cobra that formed a rest for the baboon's head.
His presence exploded, finally exposing his enormous cultivation. Unlike Prime Origin Monarch, whose idol contained some incompleteness, the sun crown appeared to have been completely finalized.
"The correct way to refer to me is Ra-Huti, as I am an ascendant sage who illuminates all."
"Fellow daoist Ra-Huti then," Prime Origin cupped his hand and greeted. "Is that your daoist title?"
The baboon's tranquil face began being ripped apart. Skin and fur disintegrating as the blue sun's rays washed over his body.
His hunched monkey form straightened into a tanned skinned man, very lean. He kept the book clutched in one hand.
His long snout gave way to a long crescent shaped beak. The head of a green skinned Ibis who wore a false wig that fluttered in space.
The Ibis headed being released the book to float at his side, then clasped his hands behind his back.
"In my orthodoxy, those who complete the sun into an Aten disk are known as Ra. I am Ra-Huti, real name Thoth." He made sure to correct the cultivator.
