Yu Gangan followed Jiang Qi upstairs. The girl had a soft, warm smile and exquisite features that made her stunningly beautiful.

Yu Gangan glanced at Fang Zhihan next to her.

This was the kind of beauty that all men liked.

A moment later, Jiang Qi knocked on a carved mahogany door, gently pushed it open, and led Yu Gangan inside. Meanwhile, Fang Zhihan stood outside.

The study room had a lot of space. The side balcony could be seen as soon as one walked in through the door, and on the balcony were flowers and plants, as well as a canary hanging in a cage. From the room, one could admire flowers, drink tea and play with the birds. Clearly, the owner of the study room was a person who knew how to enjoy life.

On the large office desk, everything was meticulous and arranged neatly.

An old man in his seventies, dressed in a beige Tang suit, sat on the large leather chair behind the desk. His hands were placed sharply on the desk and his hips were straight, giving off an air of arrogance.

But his eyes were slightly squinted and his complexion was poor.

When Jiang Qi saw the man, she furrowed her brows slightly, “Grandfather, why are you up again? The doctor said you should get more rest.”

The old man did not move. “Didn’t I say I was fine. I simply have no appetite. You guys are overreacting,” he said with a frown.

After speaking, his serious and wise gaze fell on Yu Gangan.

It seemed, he was wondering who Yu Gangan was.

Jiang Qi quickly introduced her, “Grandfather, this is Dr. Yu. Elder Huang said he’ll analyze your diagnoses with Dr. Yu after she’s checked your pulse.”

When the old man heard Jiang Qi’s introduction, he was quite surprised. He scanned his eyes across Yu Gangan and looked at Jiang Qi unhappily.

Although he didn’t say a word, Jiang Qi knew what her grandfather wanted to express. He wanted to say that she was being ridiculous for hiring a little girl to see him.

Jiang Qi leaned in against Elder Jiang’s ear and said something gently.

Yu Gangan didn’t know what she said, but the old man suddenly looked at her in surprise.

After a while, Elder Jiang leaned back in his chair and stretched out his hand, “Fine, let her take a look.”

His gaze was sharp as he looked at Yu Gangan. It was as though his eyes were x-rays seeing through her body.

Jiang Qi quickly put a pulse pillow on the desk and gently placed Elder Jiang’s hand on it.

Yu Gangan smiled at the old man, then sat down calmly on the chair in front of the desk and put her hand on the old man’s wrist. She was not panicked nor flustered.

After feeling the pulse for half a minute, Yu Gangan suddenly raised her eyes and looked at the old man with a slight tremble.

The old man had his gaze on Yu Gangan the entire time. As soon as he saw her look at him, he moved a little and asked, “How old are you, Miss?”

“22.”

“When did you start studying medicine?”

“…”

“And how many patients have you cured?”

“…”

Yu Gangan heard the distrust in his words. So, after a bit of hesitation, she decided not to reply. The old man’s pulse was strange, but it had nothing to do with his personality. He simply seemed like someone that was difficult to get along with.

After checking the old man’s left hand, she moved to his right hand. The old man tilted his head and asked, “Can you not find my pulse?”

Yu Gangan smiled, “Old man, can you stop moving around and talking?”

Her tone sounded like an adult lecturing a child and trying to communicate with them.
