The night was cold and silent, any traces of light did not come from nearby houses, instead it came from the moonlight. As Grey steadily dragged a non-human's down the streets and towards the Detective Agency Department.
The non-human's often let out low moans of pains. Those moans were so eerie that those who were still awake by this time of night felt their bladders release and they grew scared.
This continued as he dragged the non-human's down the street like he was dragging trash. Blood stained the floor as he pulled him.
All through this time, Grey had not bothered to look behind him, neither did he tell him to keep quiet. Although this was a weird sight, in Sky Mist City, all these things were actually normal.
The mundane humans had long grown used to the cultivators living in Skky Mist and the strange things that happened. They had gotten so used to it because they had seen many deaths of their own.
"Why... Why did you attack me? What did I do..." He repeatedly muttered in a very low voice filled with pain, but Grey did not reply.
All through this time, Grey did not bother questioning the nonhuman cultivator. Neither did he ask him why he was chasing the young lady. He did not even say a single thing at all.
His expression was just cold, calm and detached. This continued for several minutes into the night until Grey returned back to the Detective Agency.
At this time, there were still a lot of members despite it being midnight. All had distant looks on their faces, as well as baleful auras emanating from them.
The moment Grey entered with the non-human, almost everyone turned their sights to him, and then the broken, beaten body he was dragging behind him.
Seeing all their stares on him, Grey instinctively shuddered as his hand subconsciously moved to throw poison, but he stopped himself at the last moment while reminding himself where he was.
But his cold grey eyes emitted a sharp glint that made all those who looked in them to take a step back. All the cultivators in the hall present were all cultivators in the Qi Accumulation realm ranging from the fifth level all the way to the Eighth level.
This sharp glint was very oppressive just like how Dragon eyes would feel when used on a person.
Grey pretended to ignore their stares and dragged the battered body down to the prison underground the Detective Agency Department.
In there, Grey's nose scrunched up as he smelt smells that made him want to puke. They were several cultivators here all in various realms and levels. Although there was lack of light, he could see perfectly fine due to Dragon eyes he had comprehended. The air in the prison was warm and humid. It was such that if one stayed in here for too long, and their clothes would eventually get soaked.
The Detective Agency Department had four levels of prison system for the prisoners.
The first level, which was where Grey was now, held people who were accused of crimes. Most of them were Qi Accumulation cultivators with very few being in the Foundation Establishment realm. Most were even ordinary humans who had ran mad or got involved with cultivators and later came couldn't bear the consequences.
At first, Grey had thought to himself how it was possible to hold a Foundation Establishment cultivator. After witnessing the Special Brilliance form by the black clothed cultivator, he found it hard to believe that puny jails like these could contain such walking disasters.
But he soon understood when he saw a Foundation Establishment cultivator being jailed by another Foundation Establishment cultivator. His fellow Detective Agency member put on his hand several rings of light.
This rings of light had the ability to suppress even a Nascent Soul cultivator is there were enough rings.
Although the non-human in Grey's hand was not a cultivator, Grey slapped a couple rings of light unto his wrists to prevent him from using any spirit energy filled items if he still had some on his body. He then threw the non-human who was already unconscious into the cell.
All through this time, his expression did not change. But because of the noise he had made when closing the iron bars, he ended up attracting the attention of the sleeping prisoners.
They immediately awoke due to the sound and started shouting loudly. Grey did not bother with them and continued to walk towards the exit.
But most of the cultivators who were down here were high level cultivators, they could also see in the dark perfectly even though their cultivation bases were suppressed.
"Hey you! Yes you... I know you can hear me! How does the outside world feel, huh! Is it wam?I will drain Sky Mist!" It was an ordinary human that said that. Grey concluded that he had ran mad and didn't bother.
But the other prisoners also flared up.
"Hey you! You fucker! Wait till i-"
"You bastard, let me out! I didn't fucking kill anyone. I didn't know that speel was forbidden!" It was a cultivator in the seventh level of Qi Accumulation. His entire body was turning black while emitting dense black fog. Grey could see that he was slowly crumbling into ashes.
"Kid, let me out and I promise I'll give you anything! If can give you power, I can even help you to break through to Foundation Establishment as you are now!" When Grey heard that, he looked to the side and saw that it was a cultivator that had failed to break through to the Foundation Establishment realm. His cultivation base had crumbled and he his level was slowly falling every day. But he had run mad after failing to break through.
Which lead to him killing dozens of mundane humans before he was apprehended.
"You fucking human! When I get out of here, I'll make sure to kill each and every single one of you. I'll rape all your women and drink your children's blood." A crazed non-human shouted.
As the shouts kept getting louder, the nonhuman that Grey had dragged and thrown in jail slowly woke to a series of shouting and cursing.
At first he was startled, but then he grew terrified as he felt the suppressed cultivation bases of the prisoners around him.
Some of them had cultivation that was even higher than Grey's, yet they were being suppressed by rings of light around their wrists.
"No, no. Where am I?" The nonhuman joined in the shouting with his terrified voice. But by the time that the echoes reached the walls, Grey had already left.
