"Is it poison or is it something else?" I asked Faust when I found what he was referring to.

But all Faust did was shake his head before saying, "It's something that we never would have thought about, that's how special it is."

I didn't respond right away this time, I just focused on these alphas to see what it was that they were releasing.

After a while, I slowly said, "Pheromones?"

"That's right." Faust said with a nod.

"How did you even manage to find it?" I asked with a confused look.

Faust just said as if it was natural, "Mana sense."

Seeing that I looked at him with an even more confused look, he said, "There's a difference in mastery of the mana sense between you and me. If you master it properly, you'll be able to sense things like this."

Though we were technically the same person when it came to this, I knew that it was the truth.

Even if we were the same person, it wasn't as if we were the same all the time.

We only shared skills and senses, but we tried to maintain our individuality by keeping our minds separate. That was why we each had specialties that matched our personalities.

Though if we wanted…it wasn't hard for us to learn from each other.

All that it would require is for us to link our minds and share this experience.

Putting that aside, I took a deeper sniff to find out what kind of pheromone was being used to control these alphas.

It seemed that this was a kind of perfume that had been sprayed on a part of them that they didn't recognize that allowed the one that used the perfume to control them.

But the way that they were being controlled was strange, especially with the way that they acted.

It was almost as if the beasts were trying to show off for something.

As for what they were showing off for…

"That's lust isn't it?" I asked Faust after figuring out what the pheromone was that was being used on the beasts.

"That's right. It's the most basic form of survival instincts, so it's enough to overcome the instinctual fear that would come from facing a stronger beast. That's how they are able to force these beasts to attack the town even with the markings." Faust said with a nod.

"But how many people can actually use something like this?"

When I said this, neither of us said anything.

There was no need to say anything since we had the same thought come to mind.

We already had an idea of who it was that had put the perfume on the beasts.

This wasn't something that came from this life, but something that came from our past life.

After all, we had some ideas of the people that lived in this wilderness from the information from the game.

This was one of the special groups in this wilderness.

The name of their group was the Perfumers.

It didn't sound like that threatening of a name, but this was a name that was feared in this wilderness. It was all because of the terrifying scents that they had that could be used for a variety of things.

Such as pheromones to drive beasts into a stampede.

Or they could use perfumes as a poison that would kill with a single sniff.

They were masters of using scents to do all kinds of different things and they operated in the dark, which made it hard for people to track them.

They had many different outposts all over the wilderness that no one dared to attack. After all, those that attacked these outposts would face the full might of the Perfumers.

No one was crazy enough to do something like this.

The Perfumers had already shown why they weren't to be messed with and no one was crazy enough to mess with them anymore.

Once we had discovered the reason for this beast stampede, the only thing that was left to do was to take care of it.

It was simple for us to do such a thing once we discovered what was the cause.

The only reason that these beasts were attacking was because of pack mentality.

That meant that as long as we took care of the alphas that were leading the pack, then there would be nothing holding these packs together. Once the alphas were gone, then they would be filled with fear once more and would scatter.

For that, it was easy since there were the two of us here.

"Yip!"

The alpha wolf couldn't even react before it was pulled into the ground.

Once the alpha wolf was pulled into the ground, the hole that had opened up closed once more and it was surrounded in darkness.

After I pulled the alpha wolf down, it didn't take much as I gave a simple snap of its neck and it fainted.

Once it was dead, all it took was a simple spell from Faust to bring it back to life.

Since it still had traces of life to it since it died recently, Faust was able to use the corpse of this alpha wolf to lead the wolf pack away from this beast stampede.

It wasn't just the pack of wolves that we did this with.

It was all of the beasts that were a part of this beast stampede.

We worked on them one by one until they all disappeared without a trace.

When they came back, they came back as undead that led the rest of the beasts away.

Just like this, the entire beast stampede was scattered.

"Get out here! Who do you think you are to get in my way?"

Once this was taken care of, the mastermind behind the beast stampede appeared.

We didn't expect them to appear like this, but it seemed like the one that had caused this beast stampede was quite immature.
