Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 279: Go on fight

When that handsome middle aged man came down, he looked at Iris first before saying, "It's been a while, have you been well?"

Iris seemed a bit afraid of this middle aged man, but she still gave a nod when he asked this question.

The middle aged man gave a nod as well before saying, "It's good that you're well. Your parents were quite worried about you when you suddenly ran off and it took quite a few of us to calm them down."

Iris looked even more worried when she heard this, but she calmed down when the middle aged man said, "Don't worry, they aren't forcing you back yet. Stay out here and learn a bit more before coming back to the tribe."

Then turning to look at me, he said, "It seems like you've found an interesting friend. You can bring him back with you when the time comes."

It wasn't just Iris that was surprised to hear this, even the other black dragon had a surprised look on his face when the handsome middle aged man said this.

"Uncle Terax, how can you say something like this about a lowly slime?" The black dragon immediately complained even though he had looked a bit scared of the middle aged man earlier.

The one that was called Uncle Terax just narrowed his eyes to look at the black dragon before saying, "I wasn't even going to bother with you, but since you've drawn attention to yourself…"

The first thing that he did was raise a fist and slam it down on the head of the black dragon.

The black dragon could have dodged out of the way, but it seemed like he didn't in the end.

It seemed like he knew that this was his punishment and he accepted it with the way that he remained in the same spot to let that fist hit his head.

After hitting the black dragon on the head, Terax said, "It's your fault that this Thunder Boar caused that mess in the first place. If it wasn't for these two cleaning up that mess, it would have been even worse."

He then narrowed his eyes before saying, "Saradon, you should already know what kind of punishment is waiting for you back at the tribe. I hope that you're prepared."

The young black dragon called Saradon trembled when he heard this before he looked like he was trying to find something that would save him.

The thing that he grasped at was…

"No, no, first we have to talk about the kind of company that Chira is keeping. This lowly slime is hanging onto her, how could we let this slide?"

Of course the slime that he was talking about was me.

I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile, but I also started preparing just in case. After all, I had felt the pressure that came from Terax the moment that he appeared.

This pressure was completely different from the pressure that the younger dragons could release.

He was the truly dangerous one here and if he were to do something…

But in the end, things didn't go as Saradon wanted them to go.

"You're looking down on that slime, but he's actually stronger than you." After saying this, he turned to look at me with a smile. The way that he looked at me was as if he could see right through me.

I had been hiding my power the entire time, but it was clear that this Terax could see through all of that.

After all, I might not be able to fight against Iris or Saradon if I was just using the power that this avatar possessed. But if I were to use the full power that I had, the power that was shared with me by the other avatars…

Still, it wasn't as if this was something that I wanted to do.

Saradon seemed like he couldn't believe what Terax was saying.

In fact, it even looked like he was angered because of this.

He suddenly pointed at me and said, "How can you say that this lowly slime is actually stronger than me, Uncle Terax? Even if you're my uncle, I won't forgive you for insulting me like this."

Terax just gave a sigh before saying, "This is the reason that everyone has no hopes for you. You're rash and short sighted, you always charge forward like a bull and never think about the consequences."

Saradon looked even angrier because of what Terax said, but there was nothing that he could refute this with.

Since he couldn't refute it, it seemed like the position that Saradon had really wasn't that high among the dragons.

Well, the way that he acted was like that of a spoiled child, so I had already figured that this was the case. Though it wasn't as if I could actually be certain of this since I had never seen the dragon tribe before.

"I can see that you don't believe me, but there's an easy way to solve this."

Turning to me, Terax said, "Will you have a fight with our little Saradon? I hope that you'll be able to teach him a lesson so he'll restrain himself in the future."

A bitter smile appeared on my face when I heard this.

But before I could reject him, Terax suddenly said, "Don't worry about beating him, we aren't that petty in the first place. As long as you show your strength, you will be respected, that's how it is with the black dragons. At the same time, you would be doing us a favour by teaching him a lesson."

I really didn't know what to say when he put it like this.

"Uncle Terax!" Saradon shouted in an angry voice, but Terax just completely ignored him.

In the end, he said to me, "It'll look good when you come back to the tribe with Chira."

At this, it really didn't seem like I had a choice.

After all, I had no idea just how strong the black dragons really were…
