Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 559: Behind the Wooden Door

After putting away all the medicinal materials, Chu Mo took a deep breath and began to survey his surroundings. The Realm Spirit had told him that something else was left here for his use in the Illusionary God Realm. With a faint frown, Chu Mo pondered in his heart: what sort of 'something else' could be more vital than even these Foundation Establishment materials?

After exploring the hall, Chu Mo finally spotted a small door in a corner.

Compared to the monumental splendor of the hall, the door appeared incredibly inconspicuous.

It was merely a wooden door, one that looked as though it had withstood the ravages of time and was on the verge of rot. It stood slightly ajar, and Chu Mo even wondered if a mere push might be enough to cause it to crumble completely.

However, the reality was contrary to its appearance. When Chu Mo went to push at it, he could feel the door's surprising weight.

To his shock, he couldn't push it open with a casual effort!

"This heavy?" Chu Mo's face displayed utter surprise. He had indeed questioned whether the door was rotten, but he never realistically thought it so. After all, he didn't think the Realm Spirit would have failed to secure even a door properly.

Thus, his initial push had been forceful, at least a hundred pounds worth. That should have been more than enough to open a door…

Yet it remained immovable.

A sly grin tugged at the corners of Chu Mo's mouth as he boosted his arm strength to tens of thousands of pounds. He mumbled to himself, smirking, "I hope the Realm Spirit won't ask me to pay for the door…"

"Hey!" Chu Mo grunted, pushing at the door.

To his surprise, the rotten door remained steadfast, and he looked on blankly.

It hadn't budged at all!

"Oh, God…" Chu Mo mumbled, frustration edging his words, his features twitching on the brink of despair, "I refuse to believe this! How is a barely open door resisting my strength of billions of pounds?"

With that, he increased his arm strength to a hundred thousand pounds!

Still unsuccessful!

A million pounds!

Yet, it wouldn't open!

Five million pounds!

Ten million pounds!

Fifty million pounds!

Finally, when Chu Mo exerted a force of a hundred million pounds, the door, which had been slightly ajar, moved just a smidge.

The reality was that the door had no mechanisms nor any use for spiritual energy to open. It was slightly ajar in the first place—all it needed was some physical strength.

Chu Mo had already channeled his strength of a hundred million pounds, a force powerful enough to crush a palace or destroy the entire peak of a small mountain with one punch. Yet, he couldn't push the door open!

This was preposterous!

Could this worn-out wooden door be heavier than a mountain?

Chu Mo marshalled all his strength, concentrating it on his arms—his full power of a billion pounds of force.

"Open up!" Chu Mo roared, the echo resonating in the vast hall.

Groan!

The wooden door finally gave a screeching sound of reluctance before Chu Mo managed to push it open a crack.

Bang!

A violent and oppressive aura surged out instantly.

Caught off guard, Chu Mo was thrown backward, crashing hard into the wall at the back.

Even with his physical strength resembling that of the ancestral realm, this impact left Chu Mo seeing stars, reeling in a daze for quite some time.

A shocked expression sprawled across his face as he murmured, "Realm Spirit… were you playing a prank on me? What on earth lies behind that door? Why is it so terrifying?"

Having said that, Chu Mo turned his gaze towards the door.

Surprisingly, the partially opened door didn't close itself again. It remained half-open, and the violent aura didn't resurface either. It was as if everything that had just happened was merely a figment of Chu Mo's imagination.

Chu Mo stood up, rubbed his sore bottom, and walked back to the half-open door. Then, he stepped into the room beyond.

Inside the room stood a man!

When Chu Mo first caught a glimpse of this figure, he was almost frightened out of his wits. His heart pounded relentlessly.

The aura emanating from this man was simply too terrifying!

Chu Mo couldn't clearly make out his appearance as the man's entire form was veiled by a halo. Even so close, Chu Mo could not discern what he looked like, no matter how much he tried.

All he could tell was that it was a middle-aged man, bearing a terrifying aura of intimidation.

The violent aura Chu Mo had sensed before must have originated from this individual. However, it mysteriously vanished after that brief episode. Perhaps the Realm Spirit had sealed it off, just like he had done with the medicinal materials?

Chu Mo even felt that if the man's aura wasn't suppressed and were to be unleashed fully, he would be killed instantly!

Killing someone with mere aura... Could this man be an elite cultivator?

Not that Chu Mo was new to such formidable cultivators. For example, Feng Chun was a prime cultivator of the Emperor order.

However, when Feng Chun met with Chu Mo, he completely concealed his aura, making him seem no different from an ordinary person.

When Chu Mo first entered the Illusion God Realm, he had seen Hu Lie and Qingfeng in a match. Even though they were at a considerable distance, he could still sense the tremendous energy fluctuation.

In the Illusionary God City, he had also felt terrifying auras from people like Shangguan Nan. But those auras were insubstantial in comparison to the intimidating aura that this man radiated.

This was Chu Mo's first real encounter with an elite cultivator's suppressive aura.

"Could this be the identity that the Realm Spirit bestowed upon me? Despite it being only usable in the Illusionary God Realm... this is a bit too overwhelming, isn't it?" He mumbled in disbelief.

He suddenly remembered Hu Lie mentioning the subject of having a second body, of a cultivation expert who possessed a Supreme Golden Immortal physique and after refining it into a second form, emerged countless times stronger.

However, Chu Mo thought that such a thing was impossible, because to have a second form, one would need to reach at least the Spirit Refining stage and possess a second Primordial Spirit.

A mistake this glaring—the Realm Spirit couldn't have made it, could he?

Chu Mo furrowed his brow, shifting his gaze from the man to survey the room.

Eventually, his eyes landed on a protrusion on the wall of the room.

It was a square bluestone about a foot on each side, similar to the other bluestones on the wall but slightly protruding. It was quite noticeable, and Chu Mo picked up on the anomalous spot instantly.

Taking a deep breath, Chu Mo walked over, stretched out his hand, and exerted a little bit of force on the protrusion, pushing the bluestone back into the wall.

Next, a heavy sound echoed through the room. The bluestone was completely pushed back into the wall, revealing a foot-square hole from which something seemed to be inside.
