Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 415: Escape from Death

"You little stinker, did you see that? You must stink so much that even that great snake didn't want to eat you!" Dong Yu murmured, dropping Chu Mo to the ground, straightening her body, and then calming down her emotions.

Murmuring, "But... It was truly exciting! Who would have thought that I could actually escape from under the snake's eyelids?"

"But, it seems the snake is dead, which means there is something even more dangerous in that place. Oh my, how dangerous! My poor little heart..." Dong Yu said, gently patting her white-as-jade hand against her rising and falling chest.

At this point, Chu Mo, who had been lying there at death's doorstep, weakly said, "Can I have a drink of water?"

"Oh!" Dong Yu was startled, then widened her eyes, looking at Chu Mo in surprise, "You... you're not dead yet?"

"…" Chu Mo looked speechless at Dong Yu: "Which eye of yours...saw me dead?"

"Ah, no, no, what I meant was... didn't you faint?" Dong Yu recollected something, glared at Chu Mo and grumbled: "I shouldn't have saved you in the first place!"

"Yes, yes, you're right... But can I have a drink of water now?" Chu Mo felt as though his throat was on fire and wondered why he was feeling like this.

He was indeed thirsty, exceptionally thirsty, to the point where he felt he could gulp down a whole bucket of water.

"Wait a moment, I'll fetch some for you," Dong Yu replied. She went to the nearby river and took out a translucent, jade-like cup from her storage ring, filled it up, brought it back to Chu Mo, carefully propped up his head a little, and helped him drink.

"Not enough..." Chu Mo uttered, after gulping down the cup of water.

"You…" Dong Yu was so exasperated that she was grinding her teeth. When did this young mistress of a prominent family ever have to serve someone like this?

However, seeing Chu Mo's pitiful appearance, she couldn't bring herself to be mean, and she got him another drink of water.

Satisfied after seeing Chu Mo finish drinking, Dong Yu was about to jokingly ask if he still wanted more, but seeing Chu Mo's somewhat embarrassed expression, Miss Dong suddenly felt a bit annoyed.

A dangerous glint flashed in her eyes as she looked at him, "Are you doing this deliberately?" she questioned.

Saying so, she pushed Chu Mo aside, brought out a huge wooden bucket from her storage ring, filled it up with water and brought it back, thudding it down next to Chu Mo.

"This is the bucket I use for bathing, do you still want to drink?" she taunted.

Chu Mo's mouth twitched, and he almost rolled his eyes, but the burning sensation in his throat made it hard for him to say "no". Instead, he nodded his head and said with reckless abandonment, "Yes!"

"You, you, you... you're going to be the death of me! I want to see how much you can drink! Let me tell you, if you dare to make fun of me, I'll... I'll drown you in the river!" Dong Yu threatened in fury, somewhat regretting her earlier teasing about the bucket being her bathing pail. Wasn't this just offering herself up to be taken advantage of?

Indeed, the bucket was originally meant for her baths, but it was unused thus far...

However, she wasn't going to admit that. First, she wanted to disgust Chu Mo for a while.

Then, Dong Yu quickly swept her gaze around, reached out for a bamboo, quickly made a small channel for the water flow, placed the bucket at a higher position, and let the water flow out, splashing all over Chu Mo's face.

Dong Yu broke into a triumphant smile.

However, her smile quickly faded...

Chu Mo was drinking the water flowing from the bamboo, like a person lost in a desert for many days and about to die of thirst. He gulped down mouthful after mouthful.

"Hey... aren't you afraid of bloating to death?" Dong Yu exclaimed in shock.

Chu Mo, however, totally ignored her and drank nearly half the bucket of water in one go. Then... he gently blew onto the bamboo, pushing it aside.

After taking a deep breath, he said, "I feel a bit better now..."

"Are you a water buffalo?" Dong Yu was dumbfounded, looking at Chu Mo's unchanging belly.

"This time... Thank you for saving my life, Miss Dong. Consider me owing you a favour," Chu Mo said weakly while lying down.

Looking at Chu Mo, Dong Yu asked, "How did you end up in that place?"

While saying so, she moved over to Chu Mo's side and started examining his injuries. Dong Yu herself didn't realize that she was doing all these things so naturally, without the slightest hesitation.

Sss!

As Dong Yu accidentally touched the broken bones in Chu Mo's chest, he groaned. Then he said, "I thought that the water of the Five Elements might somehow be related to water. I didn't have any other clue, so I could only follow the river and hope to find something."

Dong Yu paused for a moment, then said, "It seems that you and I think alike."

"Who knew... this damn place would be so dangerous," Chu Mo sighed.

"Hahaha, you're so weak, isn't everywhere dangerous for you?" Dong Yu took a jab at him, but quickly shut her mouth and grumbled, "This damn little world and its stupid rules are suppressing all our realm levels to innate. Yet, the creatures inside are completely unrestricted. Damn it!"

"Did you encounter any danger too?" Chu Mo asked.

"Of course! An old wolf at the level of Gold Core latter stage. Humph, but who am I?" Dong Yu flaunted while dressing Chu Mo's wounds, "With just a little trick, that big pooch ran away with its tail between its legs!"

Chu Mo looked at Dong Yu with some suspicion, doubting the authenticity of the "running away" scenario in his heart.

"Hey, what's that look in your eyes? Don't tell me you think the big doggy at the Gold Core latter stage would pose any threat to me?" The way Chu Mo looked at her unnerved Dong Yu, and she inadvertently applied a bit more pressure while treating his wounds.

After hearing Chu Mo's pained sounds, she sneered, "You surely don't think that just because this little world's rules have suppressed our power, we won't resist and are left completely helpless, do you?"

Chu Mo paused for a moment.

Dong Yu said, "Come on, we're children of heavenly families. Even if all our power has been sealed, we still have other means. There are things in the world called elixirs, and some dharma instruments only require Heavenly Crystals to activate. There's also charms... arrays... and so many others. Really, you don't seem to have any common sense at all."

Chu Mo was left speechless by her words, and finally admitted, "You're right, I really lack foresight..."

Having enjoyed the conversation, Dong Yu, at this moment was overcome by a sense of guilt. Looking at Chu Mo, she quietly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to provoke you." (To be continued.
