Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 1312: The Mysterious Azure Dragon

Everyone aboard the distant warship was utterly dumbfounded, nearly all of them stunned into speechlessness.

"Is this still a Heavenly Tribulation?"

A look of endless horror filled the eyes of the crowd, who watched dumbly as that terrifying and fierce azure dragon claw emerged from the immensely thick layer of tribulation clouds.

The tribulation clouds were far too thick, accumulating high above the sky, and yet no one had noticed when a dragon appeared within them. Moreover... was that really a dragon, or something else?

In the Heavenly Realm, there were many Dragon-like Creatures, but a true Dragon had never been seen by anyone. There were also entities that looked almost indistinguishable from real dragons, with bodies tens of thousands of zhang long, their heads and horns ferociously intimidating. But these were not true Dragons. They were still very close to dragons, belonging to creatures with Dragon Clan blood.

An ancient legend says that in the Yanhuang Domain, in a very distant epoch, there were true Dragons. These were the true Dragons.

But on one hand, true Dragons were incredibly rare to begin with, and on the other, there was a period when the Yanhuang Domain saw a craze for slaying dragons, forcing the Dragon Clan to flee far away. Since then, true Dragons had become unseen. In the Cultivation Realm, only Dragon-like Creatures with varying degrees of Dragon Clan bloodline remained.

The creature appearing here now, could it be a true Dragon, and why here? No one could explain.

But everyone could feel that world-defying aura, so overwhelming it was hard to breathe.

The old man smoking a pipe had no choice but to pilot the warship to continue retreating. His face also showed a look of shock; these people were all powerful beyond the level of an emperor, except for Yue Qingcheng!

From such a great distance, they were still so greatly affected, so what about Chu Mo, who was directly facing this dragon claw?

Their expressions all became solemn, no longer relaxed, as they watched that spot with utmost gravity.

Chu Mo was also taken aback by this sudden turn of events. How could a dragon claw reach out from the midst of a Heavenly Tribulation? Could it be that a dragon was hidden within the tribulation clouds?

However, even in the face of this dragon claw, Chu Mo was still fearless as he once again threw a punch at the dragon claw.

The difference in size was like an ant facing a mountain.

Chu Mo looked minuscule in comparison to the dragon claw; he seemed like a speck of dust. But his strength was turbulent and terrifying.

A fierce punch struck the dragon claw, and from within the immensely thick tribulation clouds, a sudden and loud dragon roar was heard. The azure dragon claw trembled violently and actually withdrew.

The people on the warship, which had already retreated a great distance, were dumbstruck; in the tribulation clouds... there was actually a dragon hidden!

What shocked them even more was that Chu Mo was extremely fierce. Not only did he punch the dragon claw back, but he... actually charged into the tribulation clouds!

In an instant, they heard continuous angry dragon roars coming from the thick tribulation clouds, and countless Thunder Sea lightning bolts piercing a million miles, constantly flashing in the clouds, presumably striking at Chu Mo!

"How, how can he dare to charge in?" The old man was too shocked to even smoke his pipe.

"This is too dangerous!" The young woman's eyes widened as she stared unblinkingly.

Yue Qingcheng's heart was completely in her throat.

At that moment, everyone simultaneously gasped in surprise because Chu Mo's figure had actually charged out of those heavy Heavenly Tribulation clouds. And in his hand, he was actually dragging a... dragon's tail?

On the hugely immense star, rolling essence energy formed into a tornado, continuously infusing into Chu Mo's body.

The immense Azure Dragon struggled desperately, trying to dive back into the clouds. But it was tightly gripped by the tail by Chu Mo, unable to break free.

Angry dragon roars erupted continuously. Everyone on the warship was so shocked that they were completely numb, losing the ability to think, their brains becoming dull and slow.

Was this transcending a tribulation or slaying a dragon? And where did this dragon come from? How could it hide in the Heavenly Tribulation clouds; wasn't it afraid of the Heavenly Tribulation?

Numerous questions troubled everyone. But at this moment, no one was thinking about these questions anymore. There was only one thought left in their minds: Our young master... is truly a freak of nature!

Among those present, including Yue Qingcheng, they were actually individuals who stood at the summit of the Cultivation Realm. But put themselves in his shoes, if it were them there, they might have already been gravely injured and dying, right? Not even the Heavenly Tribulation could they necessarily transcend, let alone deal with that dragon.

Crack!

Crack!

Huge purple thunderbolts, like angry lightning dragons, continuously struck Chu Mo's body.

Chu Mo did not even bring out a single dharma instrument to defend himself, allowing these thunderbolts to strike his body. Occasionally, a flash of blood light would burst forth, but more often, not even his magic armour showed much fluctuation!

Roar!

The giant dragon roared in the clouds, Chu Mo clenched his teeth and concentrated all his strength, massive amounts of essence energy poured into his body, having already broken past the shackles of an emperor's limits. Inside his body, huge transformations took place. The Five-Colored Dao Platform operated at high speed, absorbing the vast essence energy coming from the giant star below, and at the same time, a large amount of the Five Elements essence energy also formed into tornadoes from that star, rushing into Chu Mo's body.

His realm was climbing relentlessly, and his strength was growing increasingly powerful.

The immense Azure Dragon was forcibly pulled out of the clouds by more than half of its body; this Azure Dragon, too, was exceedingly strong, with a strength not much less than Chu Mo's, but Chu Mo's power continued to climb, while its strength was slowly waning.

This was a process of one's loss being another's gain, and it could feel it was starting to falter.

Boom!

The Divine Thunders of the Heavenly Tribulation in the sky began to intensify, ceaselessly striking down at Chu Mo's body.

Even with a body of the ancestral realm, Chu Mo somewhat felt overwhelmed. He had no choice but to allocate some of his strength for defense.

The Azure Dragon, seizing this opportunity, desperately broke free from Chu Mo's grasp. Then, like a fish startled into action, it swiftly burrowed into the thick clouds and disappeared from sight.

Chu Mo wore a look of regret. If he weren't in the midst of overcoming the tribulation, he really would have liked to catch that Azure Dragon.

A purple Thunder Sea formed in the sky, the power of this Heavenly Tribulation was several times stronger than the sovereign tribulations on the heavenly road. The sheer intensity was enough to make anyone tremble with fear.

If all the sovereign tribulations in the Heavenly Realm possessed this kind of power, then perhaps not even one in ten thousand rulers in the Heavenly Realm could successfully transcend.

Chu Mo's body began to burst outward with blood light, his flesh first split by lightning, followed by his bones. Chu Mo's skeleton was unimaginably hard, so much so that even sovereign dharma instruments would struggle to cause any harm.

But at this moment, even his bones began to suffer injuries; the lightning crackling with the symbols of the Great Dao dealt powerful blows, causing cracks to form on his bones.

Such pain was almost unbearable for anyone.

On the distant warship, all the powerful cultivators watched with hearts racing. Yue Qingcheng and the young woman couldn't help but close their eyes, unable to bear the sight any longer.

But it wasn't over yet, the power of the Heavenly Tribulation kept climbing.

At this time, the old man puffing on his pipe suddenly murmured, "This... perhaps is the original power a sovereign tribulation should possess?"

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Everyone looked at the old man, puzzled.

Taking a puff from his pipe, the old man explained indifferently, "After this world was sealed, the laws between Heaven and Earth underwent drastic changes. The path to supremacy was severed. But the realms below supremacy have become much easier to attain than before. In other words, the sovereign cultivators of today, compared to those from an epoch ago, are far inferior. It's no exaggeration to say that a sovereign from an epoch ago, facing a contemporary sovereign at the same realm, could take on ten of the current ones single-handedly!"

"Is that really so exaggerated?" The strapping young man said, scarcely able to believe it.

The old man shook his head, looking toward Chu Mo: "It's true."

Rumble!

The Heavenly Tribulation unleashed its full fury, with what seemed like hundreds of millions of divine thunderbolts striking down at Chu Mo. That area had turned into a sea of splendid purple light, completely submerging Chu Mo's figure within it.

At that moment, a cyan dragon claw cautiously, almost stealthily, emerged from the thick clouds, fishing around in the gap between the clouds and the Thunder Sea as though probing for something.

There was not a single reaction from within the purple Thunder Sea.

After dangling in mid-air for quite some time, as if confirming it was safe, the claw forcefully pressed downward... recklessly reaching into the purple sea of thunderbolts to grab Chu Mo.

Everyone on board felt a chill and looked on in stupor: "Again?"

Yes, the Azure Dragon had reappeared!

"This is taking advantage of someone's plight. How despicable!" the strapping young man said, infuriated.

"Shameless!" the young woman also cursed, angered.

The middle-aged man frowned and swore, "Disgusting!"

Yue Qingcheng's pretty face turned pale, her concern for the young master overwhelming her. Her heart hung in her throat.

"Damn it..." The old man took another puff from his pipe, unable to help cursing: "This vile dragon!"

"It should be killed and used for meat!" the strapping young man raged.

Just then, from within the clouds, an angry and mournful dragon's roar suddenly resounded. Subsequently, everyone witnessed a scene they would never forget.

That enormous Azure Dragon, thousands of feet long, was forcibly dragged out of the clouds. Most of its body was now visible between the clouds and the purple Thunder Sea, clear for all to see.

It was a ferocious-looking azure dragon with a beautifully lined body shrouded in vast mist, creating a somewhat hazy but all the more mysterious aura. As it twisted its body, it was full of explosive power, and the parts revealed through the mist looked as if they were made of cast bronze, utterly awe-inspiring!

However, at this moment, it was struggling desperately without any grace. The brutal-looking dragon's head kept emitting painful roars.

On the warship, the young woman wore a satisfied expression as she exclaimed loudly, "Serves it right!"
