Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 113: The Sage's Behest

Chu Tianji didn't say anything more, but held Ji Qingyu's hand, and then raised his head to look at the quickly dispersing dark clouds in the sky. A ray of sunlight shone down, but neither felt the slightest warmth. It was as if the entire sky had turned extraordinarily cold.

A ball of light and shadow, from the high heavens above, descended like a twinkling star, drawing closer. The light seemed slow, but in reality, it was incredibly fast!

Almost instantly, it appeared above the heads of Chu Tianji and Ji Qingyu.

At that moment, the world around them strangely came to a halt.

It wasn't the kind of time stoppage from when Ji Qingtan used the dharma instrument before but a true cessation!

As if at that moment, all things in heaven and earth were completely frozen.

Then, the ball of light and shadow transformed into a thin old man with a refined appearance, wearing an ordinary Daoist robe.

Upon seeing the two, he first let out a deep sigh, and then lifted his head... to glance at Chu Mo!

Chu Mo stood there dumbfounded, completely stunned!

The other's gaze was not upon the air but directly on him!

What kind of divine abilities were these? Were they saint arts? Spanning time and space... directly seeing a scene decades later?

Chu Mo's heart nearly stopped at that moment.

Thankfully, the elder only glanced at him without saying anything but calmly looked towards Chu Tianji and Ji Qingyu.

Chu Mo watched this scene extremely nervously. Although he didn't understand why he could still see this image, he very much wanted to know what had happened to his father and where his mother had gone.

When Ji Qingyu saw the elder, she immediately knelt and bowed. "Qingyu pays respect to Nineteen Uncle," she said.

The elder didn't speak but just nodded, giving Ji Qingyu a deep look, heaving a sigh.

"Nineteen Uncle... please grant us this wish?" Ji Qingyu attempted one last effort.

The elder remained silent, standing quietly as if he had merged with the world around him.

But suddenly, Ji Qingyu knelt on the ground and wept, begging, "I implore Nineteen Uncle to spare my child!"

Chu Tianji also knelt on the ground, "I beg the senior to spare my child!"

In the presence of a saint, their previous schemes and arrangements were indeed too feeble.

The elder blinked, looking at the two and said, "Heaven's Will, ah."

Neither Ji Qingyu nor Chu Tianji spoke, only looking at the elder with pleading faces.

The elder then said, "I need a justification."

Chu Tianji said in a heavy voice, "What must be done for the senior to spare my child?"

"I do not wish to kill him," the elder said slowly: "but I need a passable justification."

The saint was sparing with words, and for the elder to say so much to them was already quite unusual— almost entirely out of consideration for Ji Qingyu.

But these words left Ji Qingyu and Chu Tianji feeling both hopeful and at a loss.

"Nineteen Uncle, what... should we do?" asked Ji Qingyu.

"He dies, the child lives, and you come with me. I can conceal the Tianji from Heaven for twenty years on your behalf. After twenty years, the child's existence will undoubtedly be perceived by the Imperial Clan," the elder said in one breath, something he hadn't done for tens of thousands of years.

He would not have come here this time if it weren't absolutely necessary.

"What? He dies?" Ji Qingyu was immediately stunned, looking at the elder. "Is there no other way?"

But Chu Tianji at the side said, "If I die... can it truly save my child?"

The elder nodded and said, "I know you possess a Life-saving Technique, but after resurrection, you must never appear before the world again. Otherwise, your lineage... including the entire Yanhuang region, may still face a great calamity. Even if those beings do not intervene, there will still be people in the Imperial Clan who will take action."

Ji Qingyu grasped onto the last thread of hope, looking at the elder and saying, "He doesn't have to truly die?"

The elder nodded, then shook his head, "The words just said, were all an illusion for you. When my true body descends, I will instantly kill your husband. Do you understand?"

Ji Qingyu immediately understood, even Nineteen Uncle... was equally helpless!

A saint was forced to use this method to help his own kin!

Because he had to give an explanation to the Imperial Clan of the Luotian Immortal Domain, and to those who were paying attention to this matter!

That explanation was to kill the Yanhuang cultivator who dared to defile the princess and bring the princess back!

Chu Tianji also understood. What didn't he understand at this point? He calmly nodded, "As long as my son is safe, what does it really matter if I truly die?"

Fatherly love is like the mountains, profound and weighty; motherly love is like the ocean, vast and boundless.

Chu Mo quietly watched, temporarily hiding the sadness in his heart.

At that moment, he heard the elder's voice in his ear, "Little fellow, you've seen enough. Don't hold a grudge against your uncle! Your uncle has left you a chance to reach the Dao on this heavenly road of the firmament. Find it, and someday pierce the heavens, reach the Luotian Immortal Domain, and save your mother! Those supreme beings will not personally take action against you. As long as you are strong, you can overturn these heavens! Even the hope of the future Luotian Imperial Clan... may rest upon you."

After hearing this, Chu Mo felt darkness before his eyes, all the scenes vanished.

Chu Mo understood that the following scenes had been implanted into his spiritual sea by that saint!

His intention was not only to tell Chu Mo not to hate him but also to leave Chu Mo an opportunity to achieve the Dao on this heavenly road!

This was what mattered most!

That saint... what was he trying to do? Why was he telling him all this?

This action clearly intended to puncture a huge hole in the heavens!

It seemed that not all members of the Luotian Immortal Domain's Imperial Clan were cowards... nor were they all such muddled fools!

Chu Mo felt the endless darkness around him. He didn't know where his true body was, nor the state of his injuries. With the memory scenes gone, he was trapped in this darkness. He could only pass this endless time through cultivation.

The fourth volume of Heaven's Will, My Will, the Only Me Scroll, snatching the heavens.

Chu Mo began to run the heart law continuously, cultivating. That restless heart gradually calmed down as well.

He hadn't seen the final scene of his father's death, but he knew his father must have died once. His mother had already been taken back to the Luotian Immortal Domain.

"I must become strong as quickly as possible! I will find my father, I will rescue my mother!"

Thinking of his parents, Chu Mo's heart once again experienced a wrenching pain. Even though it was no longer agitated, it inevitably felt sorrow and anger!

Chu Mo silently vowed in his heart, then, he slowly... entered a state of enlightenment more slowly than ever before.

In the cave, Chu Mo's body, marinating in the Chaos furnace medicine, was being silently mended.

A faint voice suddenly emanated from the celestial divine sense, "How do I feel that just now, there seemed to be a strange fluctuation of the Great Dao coming from his body? This fluctuation... seems to belong to..."

"Shut up!" A clear female voice rang out, "Do you want to die?"

"Uh... No." The voice belonging to the Chaos Blood Moon fell silent.

All was quickly peaceful once again.

...…

The Demon Lord looked at the Bronze Crane in front of him, somewhat dazed, and couldn't help but ask again, "What did you just say?"
