Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 59: Yabaton's Emotions

Northeast of the Northern Border, Dragon Ridge Mountain Range.

The roars of demon beasts and the wails of the undead echoed through the forest, with crimson and darkness spreading inward like a tide.

Under the bright moonlight, priests and believers watched in terror as the undead and demon beasts surged like a tide, shaking the very heart of the Old Gods Alliance.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

"It's the undead army and the demon beast tide!"

"So many undead... so many demon beasts!"

Cries of alarm rang out in all the divine halls as the Old Gods Alliance plunged into chaos.

The priests, bewildered and frightened, watched the undead and demon beasts that had suddenly appeared in the mountains, their faces growing increasingly pale:

"This kind of magic power... this aura... it's the undead and favored beasts summoned by those Bloodlines!"

"Quickly, report to the Sun Divine Palace, the Bloodline city-states have launched a sneak attack on us! Quickly activate the protective magic and recall our army for reinforcement!"

"Hurry to report to Your Majesty, request a Divine Descent from Your Majesty!"

Caught off guard by the surprise attack, all the Old God Divine Palaces in the Dragon Ridge Mountain Range fell into chaos. The priests, unsuspecting of an ambush, hurried to action, while assembling the Guardian Divine Palace's army and activating the Divine Arts and Magic.

Sporadic lights illuminated various parts of the Dragon Ridge Mountain Range as each Old God Divine Palace activated the protective array.

Soon, battles erupted swiftly in all directions.

This was not an equal battle.

Faced with the tides of undead and demon beasts, even with the protection of the arrays, the strongholds of the Old Gods Alliance were in jeopardy.

And as one formidable and terrifying presence after another appeared, the Old God Priests all turned pale.

"No good! It's the favored of those Blood True Ancestors!"

"Retreat quickly! Report to Your Majesty at once!"

Cries of alarm rang out throughout the mountains, under the crimson glow, the third-generation Bloodlines, who had undergone a second awakening, appeared like phantoms, leading the undead and demon beasts in a surprise attack towards the heart of the Dragon Ridge Mountain Range.

Led by Haral, Yabaton, Femarol, Cosy, Royena, and others who had risen to legendary power during the three and a half years of war as "Legion Commanders," followed close behind. Under the moonlit night, the Bloodlines were draped in matching black robes, with only their crimson eyes lighting up the darkness.

The illumination of shadows continued to spread, and the dark magic power continuously devoured the terrified Old God Priests.

Slowly sheathing the demon power in his hand, Yabaton, who had become one of the Legion Commanders, looked disdainfully at the priest corpses at his feet, completely drained of soul and power, shaking his head in disappointment:

"Too weak, these priests are too weak!"

"Is this the core strength of the Old Gods Alliance we've fought against all these years? If we'd known they were this weak, we'd have launched a surprise attack like today long ago and resolved them once and for all!"

Saying this, he spotted several priests trying to escape from a corner of the divine hall, sneered, and stretched out his hand to summon the demon power again.

However, before Yabaton acted, a dark crimson glow acted first, transforming into sword light that struck down those few priests.

"Too weak? No, we've just become too strong over these years."

In front of the priest corpses, a graceful figure slowly materialized.

"Royena! That was my prey!"

Seeing the emerging figure, Yabaton screamed.

A flash of crimson light, cloaked in a black robe, Royena glanced at him, her eyebrows furrowing slightly:

"Yabaton, I've told you many times, killing them is enough. There's no need to devour their souls as well. If we do that, how are we any different from the Old God believers?"

"Such laughable compassion, the moment they became Old God believers, they were already our absolute enemies. Since they're enemies, their fate naturally depends on my whims!"

Yabaton responded slowly.

After speaking, he sneered again:

"Moreover, since I can devour their power like the True Ancestor, why not use it?"

Royena frowned at him, then shook her head:

"What a mad dog!"

Yabaton chuckled:

"Hey, say what you like, I've never sought anyone else's approval. Only the True Ancestor's approval matters to me, even if I'm a mad dog, I'm the True Ancestor's mad dog!"

Hearing Yabaton's words, Royena's frown deepened.

She took a deep breath, ready to argue further, but was stopped by a steady voice:

"Alright, stop arguing, truly, just like Badak says, every time you meet, you two start bickering."

It was Haral.

His body was surrounded by golden holy light, striking a sharp contrast with the crimson and darkness of the Bloodline.

Yet, the Bloodlines around were already accustomed, and not only that, when he appeared, all the Bloodlines paid him respectful homage.

This was the authority of the secular leader of the Free City State Alliance, and the transcendent status brought by being the only disciple of the "Savior" and the "True Ancestor."

Even Abadon, who was the strongest among the awakened third generation bloodline, set aside his arrogance and nodded slightly.

Looking at Abadon, who was surrounded by dark power, Haral pondered for a moment and said:

"Abadon, a teacher is a teacher, and we are ourselves."

"I know you admire the teacher and feel proud that you can 'devour' the power of your enemies like the teacher, but I need to remind you that your 'devouring' and the teacher's 'devouring' are fundamentally different."

"Royena is right, be more cautious. If you consume too much evil power, be careful not to fall into it one day."

Abadon raised an eyebrow, his eyes glinting slightly:

"Is this... a warning from the True Ancestor for you to convey?"

Haral shook his head:

"No, this is my own kind reminder to you."

Abadon's eyes instantly lowered, his expression hidden in the darkness.

After a moment, he returned to his nonchalant demeanor:

"Don't worry, I am the strongest among the awakened warriors, the most loyal dog of His Majesty! I am the closest in power to His Majesty, I... will absolutely not fall into the power!"

Haral frowned, looking at Abadon's dismissive attitude, and ultimately just shook his head:

"You... take care of yourself."

Saying that, he took a step first, heading into the depths of the Old God Divine Palace, and when he passed by Haral, he paused slightly, saying softly:

"If... you intend to attract the teacher's attention in this way, I advise you to give up."

"I know you always felt that among all the awakened bloodlines, the teacher cares least about you, always deliberately distancing from you, ignoring you... you even feel a bit aggrieved for this."

"But as far as I know, the teacher is actually always secretly watching you. Although I don't know why she treats you differently from other awakened bloodlines, what I am sure of is one thing."

"And that is, in her eyes, you are also her blood descendant."

"Sometimes, the teacher just doesn't know how to express her feelings."

With that said, Haral continued to walk forward, ordering the bloodline warriors behind him:

"Everyone! Follow me closely! The upcoming battle will probably become increasingly difficult!"

"Our real enemy is not these Old God Churches seen as bait by the Sun Divine Palace, we must quickly and completely dismantle these divine halls, and before the Old God army returns, take this place swiftly, make a grand commotion, overthrow those core divine statues of the Old Gods, and force those mythical figures to reveal themselves."

Hearing Haral's words, the bloodline warriors were full of fighting spirit and followed him.

Abadon mumbled a few words, also withdrawing his demonic power, and strode to catch up with the group.

This was an unequal battle.

Though there were fewer than two hundred bloodline warriors participating, the internally weak Old Gods Alliance was not a match at all.

That's to be expected because the main force of the Old Gods Alliance wasn't here.

Charlotte had intentionally picked the awakened third generation bloodline to strike at the heart of the Old Gods Alliance, planning to bypass the alliance's main force and directly force the mythical figures hidden behind the scenes to reveal themselves.

As it turned out, this raid proved even more effective than she had imagined.

Under the moonlit night, atop the mountain.

Standing at the peak, Charlotte watched the divine hall clusters in the mountains ablaze and nodded silently.

The bloodline warriors' growth was faster than she had expected, though this was also because she deliberately bestowed the power of the bloodline upon them.

Now, these high-tier bloodline warriors' combat power had already surged, fully unleashing their strength, summoning undead and demon beasts with the Talent Magic she taught; their formed combat power was enough to be considered an army by one person.

The secular forces left behind in each of the Old God Divine Palaces weren't their match at all.

Even standing on the mountain peak watching from afar, Charlotte could see how her bloodline warriors rolled through like a tempest, quickly advancing and eradicating the divine halls in the mountains one after another.

"Eternal Night, with such fierce battles below, when should we make our move? I sense quite a number of mythical presences; there are indeed many mythicals hiding here."

The voice of Sea King Oshen came through the necklace, carrying a hint of eager anticipation.

Clearly, seeing the overwhelming advantage of the bloodline warriors in battle, this True God was also itching to fight.

Charlotte shook her head:

"No rush, when their True Gods show up, then it's time for you two to present yourselves."

"As for now... let's see when those mythical figures can't resist stepping in."

As soon as the words fell, Charlotte felt a stirring in her heart.

She looked in the direction where the third-generation bloodline warriors were advancing, and in that direction, a strange yet powerful aura was slowly rising.

A vast pressure gradually spread, and a brilliant radiance shot skyward.

Watching the beam of divine power light piercing through the dark to the clouds, Charlotte squinted her eyes, lightly chuckling:

"I overestimated them, it seems... they couldn't hold back anymore."

After speaking, with a flash of scarlet light, her figure also disappeared on the spot.
