The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 32 The First Transaction

The abandoned inn outside North Peak Mine, where five ox-drawn carts stopped beside a weed-overgrown mud road.

A group of menacing men descended from the carts, transferring crate after crate of cargo into the stable at the inn's backyard, then dragged out several hemp sacks stuffed with money from a haystack.

Beside the carts, Jack was anxiously waiting. As soon as his subordinate approached, he immediately asked,

"How much did they pay?"

"Just finished counting... a total of 50,000 silver coins," said the subordinate, sweating profusely.

Who knew if that Undead Mage had some sort of strange hobby, given that all the payment was in coins, and loose ones at that.

The silver coins issued by the Aus Empire had dozens of versions, each with different sizes and silver content.

As for copper coins, it goes without saying, given the large volume in civilian use, the Aus Empire had long since ssigned the minting rights of copper to local authorities. So it wasn't just the Aus Empire that was minting them; the Ryan Kingdom was doing it, and even Duke Campbell was in on the act.

While counting the money, he actually found a sixth edition silver coin minted in the early First Epoch in the hemp sack!

Were these things nearly antiques?!

Jack didn't care whether the payment was in paper or coin; in the end, he'd either deposit it in the bank or exchange it for gold bars.

Upon hearing this number, which met his expectations, he finally heaved a sigh of relief, letting the anxious weight in his heart settle.

On one hand, he was glad that the prestigious Undead Mage really did intend to do business with him, not just extort him.

On the other hand, he also rejoiced that he had suppressed the fleeting greed and hadn't cheated the lord on the quality of the equipment.

The 50,000 silver coins were precisely 5% higher than the market price.

Clearly, this Undead Mage was well aware of the prices in Thunder City!

After deducting the cost of purchasing and transportation, he could make a profit of about 25%, which was fair for the risks he took.

If nothing unexpected happened, he could carry on with this deal for a long time!

As Jack was thinking this, he suddenly saw under the distant crooked-neck tree, a man with a great sword on his back was standing.

Although the man was covered in a cloak and the brim of his hood almost hid his entire face, Jack could still tell it was Bond.

At least half sure it was.

After making eye contact, Bond turned and walked towards the direction of the mine.

Knowing that the Undead Mage was summoning him, Jack let out a wry smile.

Despite a thousand reluctances in his heart, he still ordered his men to handle things here and followed reluctantly.

At the entrance of the mine, Bond stopped.

Without waiting for the Undead Mage to speak, Jack respectfully bowed his head as if he were a truly devout follower.

"Mr. Luo Yan, may I ask what are your orders?"

Like last time, the mysterious Undead Mage still did not reveal his true face, but chose to speak through a zombie.

"Was that money enough?"

"Enough, enough," Jack nodded repeatedly, then continued, "When would you need the next batch of goods?"

"In three days," Bond said in a hoarse voice, suddenly changing the subject, "By the way, you're a Bronze-level warrior?"

Jack was taken aback, not knowing why the Undead Mage suddenly brought this up, but still nodded.

"Yes... what about it?"

Bond pressed on.

"Do you know any battle techniques?"

Jack nodded nervously.

"Yes, a few... but I only know the most basic ones."

Since becoming the leader of the Poison Snake Gang, he hadn't been out fighting and killing for a long time; all the little he knew about fighting was from his times as an adventurer.

On Underground Street, the use of Extraordinary Power was limited.

After all, those with real ability were either lords' esteemed guests or had joined the knight orders of Saint Sis, and definitely wouldn't be mingling with these insignificant folks.

Jack had no idea why this lord suddenly asked about his capabilities.

Just as he was puzzling over it, he heard something that made his heart skip a beat.

"Strike me with a blow,"

At that very moment, Jack felt his legs weaken, his face twisting into a grimace worse than crying.

"Respected Undead Mage... Have I somehow offended you?"

Bond stared at him, furrowing his brows.

"Offended? You're overthinking it. I'm merely interested in seeing your method of combat... Draw your sword, don't dawdle,"

As the zombie in front of him drew his greatsword, Jack prayed silently to Lord Demon God as he pushed down his fear and drew the single-handed sword at his waist.

Bond placed the greatsword before him and in a hoarse voice, reiterated the command of Lord Demon King.

"Good, strike with your strongest blow... Hurry up with your move, if you don't act now, I'll make the first move,"

"I'm moving! I'm moving!"

Jack hastily assumed an offensive stance, took a deep breath, focused his spirit, circulated the Extraordinary Power throughout his body, concentrating it at the tip of his blade, as he desperately recalled the battle techniques he had nearly forgotten.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of the mine,

Luo Yan, holding a recording crystal ball in his right hand, recorded while using the "Eye of True Vision" to observe the flow of "Extraordinary Power" throughout Jack's body.

In this world, warriors were mainly divided into two categories.

One was the "Temple faction," the other was the "Dragon God faction."

The former consisted mainly of Holy Knights, Holy Temple Knights, and judges loyal to the Temple who mainly relied on the power bestowed by Saint Sis, fighting under the illumination of Holy Light.
