The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 219: A08 Update! Profession System!

[a.0.8 Update Announcement:

1. New Profession System Added!

To enrich the gameplay and at the request of many players, "Catastrophe OL" now has a new profession system!

As a supplement to the gameplay, the profession system does not affect players learning skills and is independent from the skill system, providing semi-permanent attribute and resistance BUFF bonuses. Meanwhile, specific professions will grant players special abilities. For example, players transferring to the Acolyte profession can receive an undead pet at the Acolyte's Profession Transfer Altar and, after reaching the highest professional level, transfer to the Death Priest to gain the ability to command an undead army!

Professional levels can be upgraded by receiving profession tasks at the Profession Transfer Altar and are not limited by race. After reincarnation, the original professional level will be automatically inherited. However, players need to carefully consider their race and future gameplay style when choosing a profession. For instance, the Warrior's aura has little effect on small Demons who are inherently bad at melee, and the Knight profession's Intimidation Aura will conflict with the Enchanting Demon's Charming talent.

Additionally, the BUFF bonus provided by professions relates to that profession's "Legend Level," and accumulating Legend Level requires collective effort from players of that profession. Methods to gain Legend Level are not limited to fulfilling the commandments on the Professional Altar or completing tasks released by the Professional Altar. Let your sacred vows resound throughout the game world, and you will become stronger!

The six major professions currently open are: Graveyard Warrior, Graveyard Knight, Graveyard Assassin, Graveyard Archer, Graveyard Mage, and Graveyard Monk.

Please explore more gameplay features yourself!

2. More Selectable Races:

b. Bio-type: Artificial Human (Initial Attributes 3/3/3/3/3) (Talents: No Fatal Weakness, Bleed Immunity) (Minimum Soul Level Requirement: Normal) (Reincarnation Cost: 2000) (Initial Resurrection Cost: 200)]

The official website of "Catastrophe OL" is as lively as ever today.

Especially with the sudden release of the A08 update announcement, pushing the already heated discussions on the forum to new heights!

Knowledge Explosion: "6666!"

Jingluo Nanbei: "Awesome!!"

Shark East and West: "Can someone summarize it for us?"

Old man at the village entrance: "Geez! Need a summary? Better donate those eyes to someone who needs them."

Go to the pier to catch some seagulls: "Joyous celebration, the development team finally remembered 'Catastrophe OL' is a beta game."

The last A07 version was released before the new year.

Although this update doesn't have much content, it introduces an entirely new gameplay, leaving no room for anyone to blame the developers for not working hard.

Yiye Zhiqu: "When I reserved the test earlier, I was still wondering if the new race 'Artificial Human' hinting at adventurers meant that the profession system would have a major update, didn't expect two big updates crammed into one. (Sweat)

Gai Shiyin Xiong: "The developers are too considerate!"

Pig-headed Knight: "Give it up, man, those guys never show up on the forum; even if you flatter them, they won't give you an extra drumstick."

Gai Shiyin Xiong: "What do you mean flatter! This is from the heart! (Anger)"

Dragon Slayer: "Developers: Hacks are on their way. (Funny)"

Hu Wan: "Developers: Your account is gone. (Funny)"

Dragon Slayer: "No way, man! I was just kidding! (Horrified)"

Can't handle it: "Brother Zhiqiu, planning to try a different character? (Funny)"

Yiye Zhiqu: "I think I'll pass. I've been playing skeleton soldiers for so long that I'm used to it. Switching races might not necessarily increase my strength; it's better to just switch to Skeleton Mage."

Thick Rice from Xie Buro: "Speaking of which, does profession strength seem to relate to the strength of players of that profession? The more people grinding the same profession, the stronger it gets?"

I'm here to form the head: "Got it, I'm switching to Mage now!"

I'm here to form the legs: "Count me in!"

I'm here to form the crotch: "+1"

Yiye Zhiqu: "...(Sweat)"

...

With the launch of the new version and the establishment of the professional altar, players of "Catastrophe OL" have found a new source of amusement. Suddenly, the local area around the Great Graveyard filled with people "returning home for the New Year."

In the depths of the North Peak Mine, amidst flickering ghostly green lights, various Undead and Demons emerged from the Teleportation Array, then followed a navigation guide straight to the nearby Reclassification Hall, joining the long queue at the entrance.

In the solemn and majestic hall's center, six towering stone tablets stood, connecting the ground and the dome.

Clear, transparent Faith Crystals were embedded in the center of the stone tablets, with lines of ancient Netherworld Language on either side of the crystals, emitting a ghostly green glow.

The Netherworld Language inscribed different professions' commandments and blessings.

For instance, absolute loyalty to the Great Graveyard, the importance of life, and reverence for death, as well as never attacking those who serve the Demon King, etc.

Breaking these commandments will result in corresponding punishments, while adhering to them grants various blessings based on professional levels.

For example, Graveyard Warriors receive a 10% strength boost, Graveyard Knights have enhanced bone hardness, Graveyard Archers' arrows gain Nether Energy bonuses, and Graveyard Assassins gain a passive trait to conceal their presence in the dark.

Before each altar stood a Main Priest in a robe, with five Acolytes behind them.

Their faces obscured by hoods, only their eyes, flickering with Soul Fire, were visible.

Under the Main Priest's guidance, they would perform the baptism ritual for players, bestowing upon them the enhancements of different professions.
