The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 147: Clan Mouse!_2

The barrel clearly did not contain wine.

With the command of the frontline Commander, the wooden tubes cradled in the Dwarf Soldiers' arms suddenly spurted out thick streams of liquid!

Before the running slave Ratmen could realize what was happening, the oil that rained from the sky had turned into fire dragons ablaze!

"Ah—!"

Piercing screams echoed across the entire battlefield as the Ratmen slaves doused in flaming oil turned into balls of fire, darting chaotically through the tunnels, completely losing their sense of direction.

The Clan Ratmen standing in the ranks also showed faces of terror, fearing being caught by the wildly scurrying fireballs and flames, they were the first to flee towards the rear.

The Ratmen's formation was in complete disarray, some crashed towards the other end of the tunnel, while others slammed into the Dwarf phalanxes.

The Dwarves at the front line slammed their shields onto the ground, forming an unbreakable shield wall.

They did not fear the flames.

Their hands could even reach into furnaces with temperatures exceeding a thousand degrees to retrieve red-hot charcoal, let alone this level of heat, which was like scratching an itch to them.

However, the Ratmen couldn't withstand it.

Facing a tunnel temperature rising by tens of degrees, they were either burnt to death or scalded with screams or suffocated in the fire.

"Hahaha! How exhilarating!"

Goron Steel Bone laughed heartily, pulling out his flask from his waist and taking a big gulp, with at least half feeding his thick beard.

Luo Yan now understood why they did not bathe and yet didn't get sick; turns out, they were disinfecting with alcohol all day long...

"It seems it's over," Luo Yan said, standing to the side.

"Over? This is just the beginning, my friend, the best part is yet to come!"

Goron laughed heartily, extending the flask, and seeing Luo Yan's refusal to take it, he reluctantly hung it back at his waist.

Luo Yan slightly raised his eyebrows.

In his view, it was a one-sided slaughter; those Ratmen on the opposite side didn't have the slightest chance to fight back.

"You mean those rats have another ace up their sleeve?"

Goron grinned and chuckled.

"They aren't just any Ratmen, but a branch of the Thirteen Teeth Council from the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range—Scott Clan. This cunning and brutal bunch are the most difficult to deal with. They not only steal technology from us but also listen to the whispers of Chaos... although they call it the stratagem of the rats."

The stratagem rat Sylvette, one of the Three Rat Gods.

The mainstream view in the Hell academic community is that it belongs to the Divine of this world, on one hand in disagreement with Saint Sis distributing nationality wholesale, and on the other hand, the Demon City higher-ups want to woo the Ratmen to fight against the humans on the surface for political reasons.

But some scholars believe it's the guise of the Deceitful Fog "Novel," and both it and its worshiping Ratmen are filthy creatures, after all, their Divine really resemble each other, and also because discrimination against Ratmen is the "mainstream public opinion" in Hell Society.

Catastrophe Castle is on the fringes of Hell, naturally dominated by mainstream public opinion.

However, Luo Yan had seen Novel, and those Ratmen were clearly not Madmen, but purely more deranged.

While the two were talking, suddenly a deafening roar came from a distance, and the whooshing sound flew over their heads.

Luo Yan had already clenched his Magic Wand, silently reciting the passive defensive spell against flying objects, while Goron did not bother to dodge at all. Instead, he looked excited.

"Ratmen firearm squad! Hahaha! I knew it's Scott Clan's gimmick!"

At the end of the distant tunnel, a group of robust Ratmen were carrying guns over a meter long, firing and reloading methodically under the command of Ratmen officers waving sabers.

Those were not gunpowder-driven Firearms, but rather seemed to be stone bullets activated by Magic Power, which trailed a clear green glow behind them.

Luo Yan glanced at Goron standing beside him, wondering what made him so excited.

And Oke, standing next to Luo Yan, was shivering, stuttering.

"Lord Demon King, blades and swords do not have eyes, we, we should stand back a bit, Oke is worried about your safety!"

This guy is clearly afraid of death but uses loyalty as a pretense.

Luo Yan rolled his eyes inwardly, but didn't taunt him, just indifferently dropped a sentence.

"Stay close to me."

"Yes!" Oke nodded tremblingly, quickly hiding behind Luo Yan's heels.

Watching this disgraceful goblin creature, Goron let out a hearty laugh and reassured.

"Hahahaha! No need to panic! We've been fighting these rats for hundreds of years, and they've never won!"

These Hell Dwarves indeed had the capital to be proud.

Their skin was naturally as thick as city walls, and they were clad in steel plates thicker than the palm!

The Ratmen infantry rattled away aimlessly in the distance, with the effect of scraping, the front-row Hell Dwarves didn't fall at all. Instead, Ratmen officers commanding the battle were sniped off by Dwarf marksmen on the walls.

Just as the Ratmen's firearm unit was about to collapse, an earth-shattering roar suddenly came from the end of the tunnel. Then a gigantic shadow appeared on the battlefield.

It was a five-meter-tall giant beast, with a head that resembled a half-eaten duck neck, uneven eyes shining with murky ferocity, and its mouth gaping like rotten wood.

What was more frightening was its body - as robust as an elephant's, seemingly covered with different animal skins sewn together from the flesh and fat of dozens of Demon Beasts. Underneath the rough fur were the horrifying stitches and thick black threads as thick as fingers, reminiscent of surgical scars!
