The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 121 The "Cleanup" Before Departure_3

Watching the Lord Demon King's figure vanish at the doorway, Oke found himself unable to calm down for a long time, continuously mulling over the words that the man had tossed out before leaving—

Engrave the inscriptions of an entire book on a palm-sized metal plate!

If someone had told him this before, he would have thought they were utterly mad!

Yet now, a machine capable of magnifying objects 800 times stood before him, having just revealed that unbelievable world to him!

Forget about engraving the inscriptions of a whole book on a palm-sized metal plate, with a needle fine enough, he even had the confidence to engrave flowers on a grain of wheat!

The more Oke thought about it, the more excited he became, his eyes first lighting up with ecstasy, then filled with genuine reverence.

Praise the Lord Demon King—

"You are... simply a genius!!!"

...

Luo Yan had not expected that a casual remark by him would become a towering wave in Oke's ears, eventually morphing into even more enthusiastic flattery.

But even if he knew, he probably wouldn't mind.

Since becoming the Demon King, he had grown accustomed to all sorts of adulation, to the point his ears were all but calloused.

After leaving Oke's Magic Workshop, Luo Yan did not linger, taking Sarah and Octo, and riding Alakdo straight to the third level of the labyrinth.

Although the leave application for Demon City was still not approved, it was most likely only a matter of time.

After all, he had a legitimate reason.

Before heading to Demon City, he needed to deal with the troubles in his own backyard first.

At the gate of Iron Teeth City, the Mechanical Temple was in a state of disarray, with a group of Mole People artisans busily moving about.

Zhuangzhuang, perched on Bond's shoulder, looked down upon the commotion with arrogance, urging the Mole People to move faster, even faster, then laughing heartily at those who stumbled and fell.

Although it was pointless, at least it made him, the Chieftain, appear somewhat useful, and the frantic behavior of the Mole People secretly pleased him.

Dissatisfied?

Then fight the minions of His Majesty the Demon King!

Although Zhuangzhuang initially struggled to adapt to the role of Chieftain, even screaming and trying to hide at first, over time he discovered that he was born for this role!

No one was more suited for the job than he was!

His gaze grew even more arrogant as he surveyed his surroundings, that was until he spotted a figure not far away and hurriedly hopped down from Bond's shoulder.

"Respected Lord Demon King—"

"Dispense with the formalities."

Ignores the Mole People Chieftain's extravagantly ceremonial greeting, Luo Yan glanced around and spoke.

"Just tell me what happened here."

"Yes, yes!"

With a smile of appeasement on his face, Zhuangzhuang hastily recounted the monster siege of the previous day to the Lord Demon King.

Seeing the thoughtful expression on the Demon King's face, Zhuangzhuang coughed ostentatiously and energetically said,

"...Those clay monsters are truly vile! But rest assured, Lord Demon King, no matter how many of those fools come, they'll only become fodder for Iron Teeth City! They'll never make us submit!"

Luo Yan looked towards the silent Bond.

"Is that so?"

Bond shook his head, his voice steady and unexcited.

"Those clay golems are strong, and there were many of them. I couldn't handle them alone."

After a pause, he continued,

"It was thanks to a ghost that helped in time, his spells were extremely useful... If he hadn't come to our aid, a lot of Mole People might have died."

In the end, it was still because the fighting strength of the Mole People was lacking; without their machinery and traps, they were utterly useless.

Currently, the Oke Group and the Zheng Fangxing Group, along with other powerful magic workshops, had managed to cobble together a batch of Netherworld Rune Exoskeletons, pairing them with inscribed combat knives and magic energy guns to provide Iron Teeth City with some defensive capabilities.

However, no one could guarantee that the next wave of clay golems wouldn't be as numerous as the last.

Determined to resolve the issue once and for all, Luo Yan looked up at Bond and continued,

"I heard some of the clay golems managed to escape?"

"Yes," Bond nodded, truthfully responding, "Due to our limited manpower, we couldn't pursue them. We could only watch as they fled."

Luo Yan did not blame him but instead offered consolation.

"Not pursuing them was the right decision. Once they run back home, we'll be able to find out where their lair is... Sarah, I'll leave the tracking to you."

"Okay!"

Sarah nodded solemnly, then revealed the dagger hidden beneath her cloak.

Ever since the battle with Chaos, she had become more reticent, speaking less and less.

On the other hand, Bond was gradually getting used to being a ghoul, and he became more talkative than before.

Watching the Demon King prepare to depart, he volunteered,

"If you're planning to go to the clay puppet's nest, please take me with you."

"No need, continue to stand by here. I'll call on you if there's a need," Luo Yan said, his eyes inadvertently glancing at Zhuangzhuang standing nearby.

The reason he was leaving Bond here was at least partly because he was worried the latter couldn't keep the situation under control.

After giving instructions, Luo Yan did not linger in Iron Teeth City any longer, his group setting out on their journey.

However, just as they were leaving, he suddenly noticed a transparent figure floating nearby, stealthily spying on them.
