The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 114: Mist Town Reborn

In the forest.

To catch the tail end of the banquet, Dragon Roaming Wanli, resurrected, sprinted all the way on the road. However, as he was about to reach Mist Town, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Hmm?

Footprints?

They weren't the footprints of ordinary humans; by their shape and size, they seemed more like those of a human-like subspecies.

Dragon Roaming Wanli quickly crouched down and searched the ground. He soon made a new discovery.

Just a short distance away, a vast array of footprints densely marked the soil!

Given their sheer number, these footprints couldn't have been left by any wild animals—at least two or three hundred soldiers must have passed through!

That wasn't all—

From the traces of the overlapping footprints, this group of unidentified individuals appeared to have first arrived here, then doubled back the way they came.

Dragon Roaming Wanli's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Someone has been here?"

Driven by curiosity, he didn't return to the site of the banquet but instead followed the trail of the footprints.

The surrounding area was engulfed in a thick, grey mist, reducing visibility to nearly nothing. Nothing could be seen.

Dragon Roaming Wanli followed the trail for quite a while without discovering anything.

Just as he started to wonder if he'd been made a fool of, a stone cavern that rose abruptly from the ground appeared before him.

The cavern stood like a grave mound slanted into the earth, easy to miss unintentionally.

In fact, if it weren't for the fact that he had discovered it from the front, Dragon Roaming Wanli thought he might have overlooked it as a small hillock.

That cluster of dense footprints disappeared right into the entrance of this stone cavern!

Dragon Roaming Wanli suddenly realized something, and a wave of elation surged through him.

"This is—"

The fifth level's entrance!

And it seemed to be a hidden one at that!

Instead of rushing in hastily, Dragon Roaming Wanli carefully retraced his steps, following the same footprints he had come by.

It was clear!

This was not an area one could solo!

He needed to bring his crew, and bring even more people with him!

...

Elsewhere, sitting amidst the banquet tables, Terrell's brow twitched slightly as he cast his gaze outside the town.

"The scent of Ogres... and not just a few, there must be five or six hundred of them."

Naturally, he couldn't see that far himself, but the withered staff by his side could.

Not only that.

Behind the group of Ogres, he saw a small lizard chasing their footprints, running from outside the town walls to the nearest entrance to the fifth level.

Without a doubt, that was one of the Demon King's subordinates.

It seemed that everything was under control of this prestigious individual before him...

As he watched Terrell suddenly look up, his demeanor filled with respect, Luo Yan glanced at the official website and spoke nonchalantly.

"Those guys from the fifth level?"

There was no news on the official website.

It seemed either his gamers hadn't seen anything or the ones who noticed the commotion were that group of veterans ID'd as Dragon Roaming xx.

"Yes." Terrell nodded and speculated, "Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't come here... My guess is, they probably heard the commotion here and thought to come pick up something easy."

As for why they left, the reason was simple: they likely realized this was a bone too tough to chew.

Terrell disliked those guys.

Those Ogres had enormous appetites, were extremely cunning, and unreliable.

During the "Summit Meeting," when he tried to unite the major forces of the first five levels of the Labyrinth to deal with the issue of power vacuum, those individuals played the role of disruptors.

Moreover, they also attacked the messengers he sent to the lower levels of the Labyrinth.

Because of the presence of those Ogres, the Summit Meeting failed to reach any substantial agreements and only managed to come to a reluctant consensus on non-aggression.

However, Terrell had a rough guess as to why the Ogres wanted to be disruptors.

Those guys were actually working for the military lords of the deeper levels of the Labyrinth, and the latter did not want to see a unified upper level of the Labyrinth.

For those Demons, it is best to keep the first five levels in disorder, serving as a buffer zone for the deeper levels of the Labyrinth.

Seeing Terrell's expressionless face, Luo Yan guessed that the relationship between the Gray Wind Tribe and the Ogres wasn't good. He then inquired,

"Could you tell me about their situation, including the fifth level of the Labyrinth and its current ruler?"

"Of course, Lord Demon King."

Terrell nodded slightly, and began to report in a flowing manner.

The fifth level was an area known as the "Blood Arena."

Its environment was the opposite of the Mist Forest, being a sparsely vegetated wasteland. Besides the usual monsters seen in the northern wastelands and the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range, it was primarily inhabited by Ogres and some Goblins who were dependent on them.

Goblins, like Ratmen, could be found anywhere. Luo Yan wasn't surprised that Goblins existed on the fifth level of the Labyrinth.

The only thing that puzzled him was, why had the Ogres become the chief order enforcers there?

Seemingly noticing the Demon King's confusion, Terrell continued.

"Reggie Dragon brought in those guys from the Dimension Desert, claiming they had rich experience in combat against humans... But in fact, they have no merit besides their ability to consume."

Luo Yan: "Then they must be living quite frugally now."

"Not necessarily," Qianqian said, swirling the wine in her glass nonchalantly, "Rumor has it, they have a not-so-simple relationship with the military lords of the lower levels of the Labyrinth. Those guys are Reggie Dragon's former subordinates... You could think of them as guard dogs raised by the military lords of the deeper levels of the Labyrinth."
