The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 113: The Never-Ending Banquet_3

"I have no intention of questioning, just reasonably expressing doubts," Terrell said, looking emotionlessly at Qianqian, his voice steady as he continued, "I believe that reasonable counsel is precisely what a subject ought to offer. Does the Land of Nightmare not care about the future of the labyrinth?"

"The Land of Nightmare supports all decisions of Lord Demon King, both now and in the future."

Facing Terrell's questioning, Qianqian casually stated her position, then suddenly curved her bright red lips upwards as if she had thought of something amusing.

"Terrell, stop your charades. When Reggie Dragon was around, why didn't I see you raising so many questions? Weren't you a subject then?"

A pair of eyes turned toward her, many of the Dark Night Elves wearing looks of anger.

In face of those murderous gazes, Qianqian found herself unable to suppress the smirk at the corner of her mouth, revealing the fanged teeth that hung at her lip.

"Did I hit a nerve? Cowards without loyalty."

"You..." Sherry glared, standing up with her right fist clenched.

"Sherry!"

Terrell reproached his daughter, using his authority to force her back into her chair, then looked toward the Demon King and nodded slightly.

"Please forgive my daughter's rudeness...And if there has been any offense in my expression, I ask for your forbearance."

Luo Yan smiled faintly, speaking in an amiable voice.

"No matter, your concerns are natural. I had planned to hold a meeting after the banquet, but since you've raised the issue, I might as well speak here."

He paused, then continued.

"To be precise, what I reached with the surface humans was not an agreement, but a tacit understanding."

"A tacit understanding?"

Like Charles, Terrell also showed confusion, including Qianqian, who was puzzled by the term and looked toward him.

Setting down his wine glass, Luo Yan spoke in the tone of casual conversation.

"Simply put, it's about letting an uncontrollable war proceed under a certain order..."

A war that had continued for a thousand years couldn't possibly be stopped abruptly, not to mention the humans wouldn't want it, nor would the demons accept it.

However, both sides, although unwilling to stop the war, had had enough of its bitterness and realized that continuing would benefit no one.

As a result, there was a need on both sides to reduce the intensity of the war, and from this need arose room to negotiate.

Luo Yan spent about ten minutes detailing the consensus he had reached with the future supreme commander of Thunder County.

Upon hearing about the concept of the "Glorious War," Qianqian's eyes immediately lit up, and she said with a wicked smile.

"Isn't that quite nice."

Who would have thought Lord Demon King had such a crafty move up his sleeve, even corrupting the high-ranking future of the Trident Knights!

And it wasn't just that!

Using passes to deceive adventurers into giving up their vows to hunt the Demon King, and then gradually luring them into corruption... That's simply diabolical!

Clearly, Qianqian did not truly understand what Luo Yan had done, but her interpretation was not problematic from her own perspective.

Boundaries are broken step by step.

Today, adventurers dare say they are not here to hunt the Demon King; tomorrow, they will brazenly slack off, and the day after, they might work under the Demon King.

Therefore, from a human perspective, any agreement with demons that involved compromises was blasphemous.

And indeed it was the case.

If it weren't for the experience of fighting side by side, if it weren't for the faith being shaken by the betrayal of Mel, the Knight Commander... Charles, a graduate of Divinity School, would never have agreed to those conditions.

It wasn't only Qianqian.

After listening to Luo Yan's description, Terrell's face also showed a hint of surprise, clearly not expecting the new Lord Demon King to be so adept at manipulating hearts.

"If that's the case, I have no objections...But there's one thing I wish to ask You. What about the forces deep within the labyrinth?"

"Nothing will be done about them."

Taking a sip from the glass on the table, Luo Yan said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"They were not there for us when we needed them most, so now they must bear the consequences of all this."

That unemotional voice sent a tingling chill through the hearts of Terrell and the other Dark Night Elves.

By the time they snapped back to reality, an invisible blade had already grazed past them.

The edge had come perilously close to their scalps.

"The second underlying meaning of Mist Town is to pit wolves against tigers."

"My intention to create a safe zone on the fourth layer of the labyrinth is to shift adventurers from the first four layers deeper down."

...

In celebration of this hard-won victory, everyone gave their utmost...even if some exerted their efforts in somewhat redundant ways.

The survivors of Mist Town generously brought out food from their own and their neighbors' supplies, the Dark Night Elves of the Gray Wind Tribe offered their treasured wines, and Little Demons played the role similar to court jesters...monopolizing the festivities and excess pranks of the entire banquet.

As for the players posing as skeleton soldiers, they sensibly and knowingly got out their phones and ordered takeout.

Though there were some who stubbornly tried to force it down their throats, it all spilled through their ribs in the end.

Wasting food is a disgrace.

They soon received a warning from the system.
