The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 112 "Safe Zone" and VIP Service_3

Saint Sis above!

Could it be that he wouldn't have to declare bankruptcy after all?

No—

Perhaps what he should be thanking was the Demon God? But as a devotee of Saint Sis, thanking the Demon God would be too bizarre!

While the innkeeper's mind was plunged into confusion, Luo Yan walked toward Charles, who had his gaze fixed on him, and Alex, who was sitting at the long table.

Watching "Luoluo" approaching, Alex's face revealed a complex expression.

"I really didn't expect... that you are, um, the Demon King? So does the name Luoluo come from...?"

"I picked it up in the labyrinth, probably dropped by some adventurer," Luo Yan glossed over the topic before continuing, "Let me reintroduce myself, my name is Luo Yan, you can also call me the Demon King... just like the other humans aboveground."

Charles's Adam's apple bobbed, suppressing the palpitations emerging from deep within his soul.

There was no chance of winning if they acted now.

It would only lead to everyone's demise.

Unlike Charles, Alex, although clearly showing a surprised expression, didn't bear any additional hostility; instead, he was mostly confused.

"Alright..."

Looking at the young man with an expression of holding back words, Luo Yan said with a smile.

"Any other questions?"

"No..."

Alex had thought that "Luoluo" might have something to say about the disguise potion, but since the other party didn't mention it at all, he could only helplessly act as if nothing had happened.

But having been used by the Demon King was at least a story he could take back and boast about.

Assuming, of course, anyone would believe it.

Seeing that neither had anything to say to him, Luo Yan casually expressed concern and initiated conversation.

"How do you feel? How are your injuries, do you need my people to help?"

Alex hastily gestured with his hands.

"No need, no need, the Knight Order has already treated me."

Charles did the same, nodding reservedly.

"We are both fine... What about you?"

"I'm completely fine," Luo Yan shrugged lightly, saying nonchalantly, "It was nothing more than crushing a bug that flew into the labyrinth."

Charles let out a bitter smile, unsure of what expression to wear in response to that remark.

Although Mel, the leader of the Knights, betrayed the faith of Saint Sis and the oath of the knights, that person had once been his superior.

He deflected from the topic.

"After the celebration, I will take my men and leave this place... along with the other adventurers. Additionally, please forgive my boldness, but I would like to hear your plans... regarding Mist Town."

This was not only a matter of concern for Charles, but also of interest to all the adventurers present.

If they lost Mist Town, the transit hub, it would undoubtedly be bad news for the adventurers of Dragon County.

It meant that except for the powerful adventure groups that could enter the deep layers of the labyrinth, the vast majority of adventurers with lesser strength would be pushed back to the shallower areas.

After all, not everyone has the capability to obtain supplies in the labyrinth.

Facing Charles's inquiry, Luo Yan replied with a matter-of-fact tone.

"Mist Town has always been my dominion, including the fourth layer of the labyrinth. I am not concerned with the affairs of Reggie Dragon's time, but at the very least, from my standpoint, standing here, you are the invaders. If this incident hadn't happened, I might have turned a blind eye, but since you've messed things up, I can only take back the sovereignty here."

Charis did not say anything, only shrugged his shoulders with an expression that read 'I knew it would come to this.'

"You certainly have that right."

Mist Town had no lord and no church; it was merely a safe zone operated by the adventurer guild.

While this meant absolute freedom for the adventurers, who could even ignore the laws of Campbell Duchy there, conversely, no lord from Campbell Duchy would come to conquer new territories here and provide sanctuary for the adventurers.

Considering the strategic significance of the town, he still intended to negotiate on the adventurer's behalf for their right to their property, but he wasn't going to risk offending the Demon King in doing so.

After all, that so-called strategic significance was based solely on the premise of the Demon King's army invading the surface.

And clearly, the Demon King in front of him seemed to lack that ambition.

At least, not for the moment.

Luo Yan was not at all surprised by Charles's decision to relinquish the claim to Mist Town's sovereignty; after all, he learned on his way here from Alex that this land belonged to no lord and was simply being operated by the adventurer guild.

Looking at Charles, who showed no signs of surprise on his face, Luo Yan then smilingly offered up the proposal he had long been considering.

"However, I do not intend to drive the adventurers away from here."

Charles was momentarily taken aback, his eyebrows lightly furrowing in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"Exactly what it sounds like."

Turning his gaze to the banquet scene being prepared not far away, Luo Yan continued in a measured tone.

"This collaboration has shown me a possibility, that we don't necessarily have to fight to the death; we can also work together. Especially with the threat of Chaos looming and the Dimension Desert's storms unpredictable in their reach... In such circumstances, you and I are not the most pressing threat to each other, don't you think?"

"I must say this is a very idealistic proposal."

Charles looked at Luo Yan in astonishment, swallowing before speaking.
