The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 103: Utter Madness

"Youlin Rest" tavern, three drunkards lay sprawled across the table near the bar, dead drunk.

Buried head over an oak beer mug, Alex let out a belch and yelled in the direction of the bar.

"Boss! Burp—another beer! No...four! Fill it up for my good brother Luoluo too! I've got to treat this round no matter what!"

Luoluo hadn't lied to him, the beer here was indeed not bad, with a pure taste of barley and a faint scent of mushrooms.

Only, for some reason, the seemingly bland drinks were exceptionally intoxicating.

Usually, he could guzzle down five big mugs like drinking water, but today he was dizzy and unsteady after just over four mugs.

If it weren't for Phinis and Xiu Wen already sprawled across the table, he would have to wonder if his own tolerance had worsened.

The owner sitting behind the bar apparently also saw for the first time a drunkard getting so drunk on beer and couldn't help but murmur if he had served the wrong drink, perhaps one that hadn't been watered down.

After refilling four large mugs of beer, he gestured to the serving girl beside him to deliver them to the customers.

The waitress looked at the owner in confusion and asked.

"But isn't there only three people at that table?"

"Mind your own business, they ordered four mugs, just take it over to them," the owner rolled his eyes and shooed her away.

No doubt.

The guy who had brought them had already slipped out the front door.

Such cheeky attempts to avoid paying for drinks weren't uncommon among the adventurer circle, and as an innkeeper, all he needed was one person to pay the bill.

Mist Town had its guards, and they were employed by the adventurer guild, so there was little chance anyone would really cause trouble and not pay up.

Seeing the owner say this, the waitress didn't say anything further, and with a heavy tray, she walked up to the side of the booze table.

However, just as she was about to place the mugs full of beer on the table, she got distracted by that handsome face.

So handsome—

But somehow, it looked familiar.

The waitress couldn't remember where she had seen this face before but felt more and more familiar with it as she continued to look.

And just as she was about to clear the empty mugs from the table to leave, her peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the wanted poster by the side of the bar.

The moment her eyes met with those dark purple ones, she felt as if her heart stopped for two seconds, and then she quickly looked towards the guy beside her, completely drunk.

The same pronounced features, the straight nose, and the slightly curled bangs complemented each other in the candlelight.

Especially those dark purple eyes... she swore she would never forget them with just one glance.

There was no mistake!

This guy was the fugitive on the wanted poster!

The Undead Mage and Alchemist charged with a serial killing spree, burdening 27 human lives, who made a million citizens of Thundering City shudder in fear!

Her eyes shifted from shock to fear, and then every cell in her body trembled uncontrollably.

"Clang—!"

The empty oak mug in the tray suddenly dropped to the ground.

"Sorry—!"

She quickly knelt down, apologizing in a nearly crying voice while clumsily picking the mugs back onto the tray.

"Watch it, miss! If you get that on my trousers, you're going to have to clean it... clean it up," Phinis, who was drunk, became uncharacteristically bold, stuttering a flirty tease at the waitress despite usually being shy and sly.

Only Xiu Wen stared at their boss unmoving, his idiotic expressions resembling a koala that had fallen from a tree and gotten stunned.

"Alex..."

Noticing Xiu Wen's intense gaze, Alex looked up at him and said with a hearty laugh.

"What's up? Looking at me like that, do I have something on my face?"

The drunken Xiu Wen shook his head, took a swig of beer, and muttered under his breath.

"I feel like you've become someone else, maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks..."

"You joker! If you're envious of me just say it, no need to beat around the bush, haha!" Alex said while drinking and pulled up an empty chair beside him. "Brother Luoluo, let's drink one more! What is your surname anyway? I've told you mine, it's your turn to tell me—"

The empty chair, of course, couldn't answer him.

The waitress carefully collected the mugs and tray, fleeing to the safety of the bar as Phinis whistled at her.

"What are you doing! Clumsy!" grumbled the owner behind the bar, yet he saw that his employee's expression was unnatural.

Realizing something might have happened, his brow furrowed slightly as he took the frantic woman to the side by the curtain leading to the kitchen.

"What happened? Did that customer harass you?"

If that was the case, he would have to charge him.

Facing the owner's pressing gaze, the waitress covered her mouth and with tear-filled eyes glanced at the wanted poster beside the bar.

The innkeeper was taken aback for a moment, then his face also gradually turned pale, and he rushed into the kitchen, dragging an apprentice who was assisting the chef to the window.

"Quick! Go find the guard!"

The apprentice looked confused, but seeing the serious expression on the owner's face, he immediately climbed out the window and started running toward the nearby guardhouse.

The three people sitting in the tavern's main hall drinking suddenly noticed that they were the only ones left, wondering where all the other patrons had gone, the owner and the waitress behind the bar had disappeared completely.
