The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 99: A Blessing in Disguise

Iron Teeth City, the junkyard of the Mechanical Temple, was bustling with the sound of mice at this very moment.

Having just finished a day's work, the mice were crowded on the garbage heap, gnawing on roasted sweet potatoes.

At the foot of that garbage heap was a square area enclosed by cobwebs and rubbish.

On either side of that area, two robots about three meters tall stood opposite each other.

Bathed in the cheers of the Mole People, they waved to their supporters and then turned to face each other, provocatively flexing their arms and legs.

A great battle was about to erupt!

As for why things turned out this way, it all started with an accident that afternoon.

At the time, scavenging teams from various Magic Workshops were combing through the garbage mountain for parts, and just by chance, the "I reckon we can" Magic Workshop and "Zheng Square" Magic Workshop scavenging teams took a shine to the same treasure.

The scavengers from both sides claimed to have discovered it first and neither was willing to give in.

Soon, the dispute turned into an argument, which escalated into shoving and eventually blew up into a fight.

Fortunately, the Mole People were really not good at fighting. Apart from a few unlucky ones who got their fur plucked, there were no casualties.

However, as neither side gained any advantage and neither could swallow their pride, they each went back to call for reinforcements, bringing with them a large group of mice.

Seeing that what was once a brawl between ten people was about to turn into a fight involving hundreds or even thousands, Zhuangzhuang, the chieftain of Iron Teeth City, panicked and hurriedly sought help from the Demon King's minions, hoping they would intervene.

The players, who loved to see the world burn and didn't want to intervene, eventually decided to do something, considering they had triggered a quest.

After a discussion among several CEOs of the Magic Workshops, they thought it better to have representatives from both sides pilot their companies' robots and let steel clash against steel instead of letting the mice continue their endless fight!

As it happened, the two big robots from the Magic Workshops had almost been assembled, so dragging them out also conveniently served as a test of the "prototype's" quality, to see if there were any areas that needed improvement.

And so, the "First Corporate War of Iron Teeth City" officially began!

In the center of the arena enclosed by rubbish and cobwebs, Zhuangzhuang, sitting on Bond's shoulder with a piece of paper in hand, was shrieking with excitement.

"Now entering the arena! The 'Wagga No.1' from the 'I reckon we can' Magic Workshop!"

Two searchlights made of scrap metal converged on the robot at the left side of the duel field.

Its form was huge, three meters tall, with a Mole Person operator inside. Its body was made of rusty metal plates and pitted gears, looking like a scaled-down version of "big guy" from a distance.

But despite its smaller size, it was by no means lacking in power. Its two forward-stretching arms were like the shovel of an excavator, and its wide, strong feet planted on the ground like a gladiator ready for battle!

After some modifications by our pal from the chemical vat, equipped with hydraulic parts and a torque amplifier, Wagga No.1 could even lift twice its own weight with its arms!

Moreover, it was equipped with the "I reckon we can" Magic Workshop's secret weapon. Even when pressed by the judges, it did not reveal a single detail about the secret weapon, only promising not to use the secret weapon first in battle!

Watching the big guy spring into action, a wave of cheers erupted from the garbage mountain.

The engineers from the "I reckon we can" Magic Workshop excitedly stood up, swung their fists, and yelled at the top of their lungs with their front teeth bared.

"Wagga!!!"

"Good on ya Wagga!!!"

"Smash it, Wagga!!!"

Bathed in the cheers of the mice, the Wagga No.1 under the spotlight waved its huge arm to the workers and then provocatively raised its middle finger at the opponent.

The Mole Person operating Wagga No.1 didn't actually know what this meant, but having been told by the boss that it could provoke the opponent, he just did it.

At the same time, two more spotlights turned on, illuminating the other side of the duel field.

Zhuangzhuang, sitting on Bond's shoulder, continued to shout excitedly.

"Coming up next! The masterpiece from Zheng Square Magic Workshop—the Terminator!"

The ground shook as the mechanical behemoth on four legs awkwardly but agilely crossed the obstacles and stood opposite Wagga No.1.

Unlike Wagga No.1.

This four-legged beast shared the bipedal design of "big guy" and had complex parallel hydraulic systems installed in its robust hind legs.

Not only that, but it also carried on its back a cannon inherited from "big guy."

The cannon had no ammunition loaded; instead, it had an inscription circuit linked to the power supply system, using principles similar to a jet engine to compress magic power in a metallic slug inducing a deliberate overload, thereby releasing the resulting energy forward in a blast.

Given the power of this device, Zheng Square Magic Workshop promised not to use the finishing move first, unless its rage gauge was full.

Zhuangzhuang didn't understand a word of this, but seeing that "chemical vat in one gulp" seemed to have no objections, he approved its entry into the arena.

The "Terminator" in the duel field raised its head triumphantly and roared towards the stands in the garbage mountain.
