The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 86 Mechanical Temple

Maze Third Floor, Mechanical Temple.

A nimble figure, swift as lightning, leaped over from a towering mechanical platform and landed steadily on a platform connected by stone pillars.

A faint sound of a mechanism being triggered echoed as the stone pillars sensed the intruder and began to slowly rotate.

Accompanied by the creaking sounds of metal gears, numerous platforms connected to the stone pillars, like the blades of a propeller, began to rotate slowly in the expansive space.

It wasn't just vertical movement!

There was also horizontal rotation!

Facing the complex array of mechanisms, there was not a hint of panic in Sarah's eyes, just a deep breath taken before she lowered her stance and then, like an arrow released from a bow, leaped into the air to land on the platform above that had tilted at a 45-degree angle.

Without pausing for a moment—

Almost the instant her feet touched the stone, her bow-shaped legs continued to exert force, propelling Sarah to another platform.

Everything was as effortless as breathing.

The nimble figure was like a light feather dancing up and down between the rotating pillars and stones, ascending against the wind and gravity.

Finally, she reached the top platform.

Sarah landed, turned the mechanism handle at the top of the pillar forcefully, and disengaged some kind of inscription alignment inside the pillar.

The pale blue light extinguished!

Sarah quickly leapt backward, drawing the dagger at her waist on guard.

Accompanied by the creaking sounds of metal gears, the rotating stone pillars finally came to a slow halt, as did the platforms resembling blades.

Looking down from above, the staggered platforms now spiraled upwards around the massive pillar, forming a staircase.

Looking at the disengaged mechanism, Sarah breathed a sigh of relief, quietly wiped the sweat off her cheek with her arm.

However, even though the mechanism was disengaged, her tense nerves did not dare to relax, her vigilant eyes continuously scanning the surroundings, not missing any slight rustle of wind or grass.

Not until she saw Luo Yan leading Octo and Bond up the stairs from beneath the pillar did Sarah's lips curl into an irrepressible smirk of triumph.

With eyes full of expectation, she stole a glance at the man, then quickly looked away, only to sneak another peek again, unable to help herself.

It was obvious what she was hoping for, and Luo Yan, naturally, wouldn't pretend not to notice her efforts, and he sincerely praised her,

"Well done!"

Fairly speaking, even if his stats were much higher than Sarah's, he absolutely couldn't have performed that agile maneuvering.

Proficiency isn't something you can achieve by stacking a few BUFFs; besides natural talent, it requires years of training.

Sarah's skills were not just the thieving techniques she learned from Chris, but more so the survival skills she was forced to learn while living on the fringes of human society for over a decade as "an untouchable."

Such as hunting, surviving in the cracks, avoiding the 'just executions' of fervent zealots, and so on.

Upon hearing that heartfelt commendation, Sarah couldn't keep her grinning lips from curling up, and the cat ears on top of her head shook with happiness.

Luo Yan's gaze shifted beyond her head, looking towards the suspended corridor straight ahead.

Diverse self-destructing robots lay ambush below the corridor, ready to spring out and surprise the intruders at any moment.

But they were doomed never to have their chance.

Luo Yan had spotted them before coming up from beneath the pillar and had frozen them all with a toss of Frost Breath.

Holding the wand in his hand, he continued,

"Let's keep moving... I can feel that we are not far from the 'mastermind' behind these mechanisms."

"I can sense that they are almost out of tricks."

All the mechanisms related to inscriptions were added later.

Luo Yan learned from the Land of Nightmare that the prior main mechanisms on the third level of the maze were mainly elemental Magic Enchantments.

Such as earth golems and metal golems, and so on.

Thus, if they continued along these superfluous mechanisms, they would eventually find the person responsible for these traps.

Luo Yan couldn't help but be curious.

What kind of person could, in such a short time, transform an area not even adventurers liked to linger into this?

Even though it was just a small peripheral part of the labyrinth's northern sector, even with local materials at hand, this "renovation project" was enormously extensive.

Dwarves?

Or goblins?

He would soon find out...

As the group walked through the frosted corridor, from behind the gears mounted on the formidable walls nearby, a few sneaky heads peeked out.

They had fuzzy bodies, meaty paws, and eyes so small they were almost invisible, as well as noses so large they covered a third of their faces.

These creatures were not dwarves or goblins but the Mole People who lived in the mountains of the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range.

Some humans may consider them Mole People, but underground dwellers knew well that these furry beings had nothing to do with Mole People, being completely different in physiological structure, beliefs, culture, and more.

Moreover, apart from poor eyesight and a lack of skill in casting spells, their mastery in stonework and metalworking was no less inferior to that of the dwarves.

Watching the man suspected to be the Demon King continue forward through the layers of traps, the Mole People hiding in the darkness panicked.
