The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 65: Dragon!

The shock wasn't limited to the Earth Cave Spiders and Little Demons.

The players who were fighting bloodily with the Earth Dragon Clan warriors were also stunned by this sudden scene.

"What the fuck!?"

"This, this is—"

"A dragon?!"

This is the kind of monster you see in a starter village?!

But—

It's pretty cool, isn't it?

The majestic beast merely moved its shoulders slightly, and the entire forest trembled as if struck by an earthquake.

It raised its proud head, its nostrils emitted scorching White Mist, and its sun-like pupils surveyed the surroundings, looking down on the creatures below as if they were mere ants.

The oppressive aura it exuded made every species in the forest too scared to move.

In the presence of this apex predator's intimidation, even the kings of the jungle had to lower their heads in wary submission.

The players' speed of reloading bullets unconsciously slowed down, and many had even stopped their actions completely.

No one doubted—

In front of such a colossal being, their muskets and torches were no different, barely enough to scratch an itch for this creature!

Not just the players.

The Earth Dragon Clan warriors also halted their actions, even throwing away their weapons, and knelt devoutly on the ground to pray.

"Praise the mighty Gutaf!"

Standing in the front row amidst seas of skeletons, Yiye Zhiqu looked up at the mountain-like massive beast, the soul fire burning in his skull flickering in astonishment.

Silver?

Gold?

Or perhaps Platinum Diamond—

He had a strange intuition in his heart that for a fantastical creature like the one before him, it was impossible to measure its strength by mere levels.

This was a species talked about only in epics and myths!

In the treetops.

Alakdo quaked uncontrollably, speaking in a voice tinged with pleading to Luo Yan, who was riding on his back.

"Lord Demon King... We cannot contend with a monster of this level... We should retreat!"

If he hadn't already spun his webs between the branches of the pine tree earlier, he might have fallen flat on the ground by now.

However, unlike the spooked Alakdo, Luo Yan, with a furrowed brow, noticed something unusual about the dragon.

"Youyou, can you see its soul?"

"Let me check!"

Youyou exerted all its strength to rise higher, eventually stopping about five meters above Luo Yan's head, looking towards the direction of the dragon.

As a divine being, it could see things invisible to ordinary eyes.

Soon.

Youyou had results!

"I see—huh? Weird, Lord Demon King, there are two souls inside it!"

"Are you sure?"

"Positive! One is Steel Level, and the other is... Diamond?" Youyou was obviously startled too, quickly shrinking back to Luo Yan's side, trembling as it spoke, "Lord Demon King, I think your servant is right, maybe we should retreat first?"

Luo Yan glanced sidelong at the mirror in his hand.

"What are you afraid of, you can't die anyway."

Youyou, caught between laughter and tears, said,

"I'm worried about you! If you die, what happens to me?"

Though he said so, Luo Yan wasn't worried about his own safety at all.

In fact, when he heard that apart from a Steel Level soul, there was also a Diamond Level soul residing inside the dragon, he actually felt relieved.

He probably guessed what the Clan Leader of the Earth Dragon Clan had done.

"The Dragon Hunter's Holy Relic, the remains that seal the dragon soul... I didn't expect this gecko to hold such an incredible item."

Dragons had no natural predators, and first appeared on the Aus Continent as calamities. It wasn't until the First Epoch when the divine essence of the Dragon God coalesced that the dragons moved from obscurity towards civilization, ending their ceaseless slaughter of other races.

There are no specific historical records to prove whether the birth of the Dragon God or the civilization of dragons occurred first, and whether one caused the other.

However, one thing is certain, before the birth of the Dragon God, there was a group of individuals active on the Aus Continent who lived by slaying dragons.

Some were humans, some were dwarves, and there were even elves and halflings... Most came from ruins destroyed by dragons.

They called themselves Dragon Hunters.

After killing a dragon, they would bind the soul of the dragon within its remains to create a "Holy Artifact," thus preventing it from crossing the Nether River to reincarnate.

Although later research proved that this was meaningless—newborn souls didn't necessarily have to originate from existing ones and could spontaneously emerge—the majority of people during the relatively backward First Epoch believed that this method could reduce the number of dragons.

In any case, during the distant First Epoch, quite a few dragons were thus turned into equipment by the Dragon Hunters.

Later on, some members of other races with dragon blood also joined the ranks of the Dragon Hunters and hunted the "evil dragons" that refused to reform, under the orders of the Dragon God.

As devotees of the Dragon God, they soon took an interest in these Holy Artifacts containing the souls of dragons.

Those were souls of Diamond Level or higher.

Some might even be demigods!

It seemed such a pity to just let such incredible items lie around, so why not turn them into weapons?

Thus, over time, a seasoned Dragon Hunter, inspired by the system of Undead Magic created by the Netherworld God, designed a set of Ritual Magic that differed from Undead Magic but produced similar effects.

The spell was called "Dragon Taming Divine Skill."
