Chapter 560: Traveling with the Fairy!

"Did you really collect the complete set of Battle Armor?" Wu Xiaode asked.

This matter was critical, and could not afford to go wrong.

Gjestastav knew the importance and corrected herself:

"...Actually, it's four pieces, I said it was a complete set to discourage you, but who knew you were so determined and actually managed to come back."

"Why didn't you collect them all?" Wu Xiaode pressed.

"Because the fifth piece is unattainable—come with me."

Gjestastav led the way, with Wu Xiaode following her through the long corridor, until they reached a cluster of buildings behind the bell tower.

Passing through a room filled with giant skeletons—

"This is an Evil Dragon I killed here years ago, now only its skeleton remains," Gjestastav explained.

The Book of the Dead suddenly opened.

Little Bone burst out, circled the skeleton, then flew back into the book.

The Evil Dragon's skeleton on the ground vanished without a trace.

"Don't mind it, my friend is a bone collecting specialist," Wu Xiaode said with a shrug.

"Come with me," Gjestastav said nonchalantly.

The two passed through a spacious room and reached the end of the second floor.

There was a door of light there.

A grid made of dim light blocked the way completely.

"Look."

Gjestastav pointed at the damaged part of the wall.

—That section of the wall was broken through, exposing the dim light grid inside.

The entire wall, along with the door, was made up of this grid.

"Can't go through?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"I don't know what this is, but I've used all the power I know of, and I can't get through it," Gjestastav sighed.

Wu Xiaode stepped forward for a closer look.

He didn't recognize it either.

However, a line of small text popped up on the Book of the Dead:

"You need the complete 'Babylon' to fill the power of 'All Worlds Element Detection' and learn the method to open this light grid."

—The power of "Babylon" is still scattered in the grand world of tombs.

There was only one other option.

Wu Xiaode pondered for a moment, took off the Holy Treasure Ring he was holding, and spoke:

"Chris."

"A piece of cake, leave it to me!"

A green-dressed fairy crawled out from his hair, hopped into his palm, and slung the Holy Treasure Ring over her shoulder.

"Be careful, if it doesn't work, just come back," Wu Xiaode warned.

"It's just a door, not that terrifying creature!"

Chris leaped high and charged at the door with all her might.

Clang!

She struck the light door and bounced back.

Wu Xiaode was shocked.

—He had hardly ever seen a fairy take such a blow!

He hurriedly caught Chris, repeatedly asking:

"How are you? Are you all right?"

Chris jumped up, standing on his palm and threw a tantrum:

"I was the ticket-dodging champion. I never bought tickets for concerts back in the day, and it dares to treat me like this!"

She flew towards the light door again.

—Despite looking very angry, Chris was noticeably more cautious this time.

She gently landed on the light grid and shouted:

"Stop pretending, I know you are the ancient Power of Laws, but your duties have nothing to do with me—"

"I'm just going in to see an acquaintance!"

"I'll be right out, I promise! How about now?"

As she spoke, she wriggled her body sideways and squeezed through.

A gap appeared in the light, and then, bending down, she dived in—

She was in!

Gjestastav watched silently until Chris disappeared inside the door, then asked softly:

"Why do you associate with a fairy?"

"The fairy has helped me a lot, she's reliable, and also a good friend," Wu Xiaode replied.

"You might be too inexperienced to understand a truth acknowledged by all realms," Gjestastav said.

"What truth?"

"While fairies are favored by the Laws, they can't take things seriously for long, and ultimately they cause great disasters," Gjestastav explained.

"I'm aware of that, but for now, we're working well together," Wu Xiaode said.

"I mean no offense, nor do I intend to interfere with your relationship, just reminding you to stay safe," Gjestastav said.

"Thanks," Wu Xiaode replied with a knowing smile.

Gjestastav, oh Gjestastav.

Your soul is split in half, wandering among all worlds, finally sealed in a sin prison to serve as a guardian.

I've now met your 'other half.'

She seems to worry about others quite a lot.

I wonder what you'd be like if your soul was restored to wholeness.

Wu Xiaode pondered silently, only to see Chris quickly running back.

"Your restroom is too dirty, I won't use it, let me out!"

She frantically shouted and struggled through the light grid, returning to Wu Xiaode's hand.

"What happened?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"Stealing the key was easy enough, but I got caught," Chris said.

She slipped the ring back onto Wu Xiaode's finger.

Wu Xiaode sensed it briefly.

Indeed.

The ring now contained a key made entirely of light.

"Who caught you?" asked Wu Xiaode.

"Look!" Chris pointed in the direction of the grid.

A shadow, like a giant octopus, floated from a distance, landed in front of the grid, and fixed Wu Xiaode with a baleful vertical pupil.

"The ancient progenitor of the Eye Demons!"

Gjestastav's expression changed and she warned:

"Run! It possesses the high-level Direct Death Light, an innate skill that can't be dodged. Once it hits, there's no survival!"

"Is that so?" Wu Xiaode responded.

The species of the Eye Demon was quite familiar to him, and it was just an Eye Demon after all, not that terrifying creature itself.

He was thinking this when suddenly a gray light shot from the vertical pupil of the Eye Demon, instantly passing through the lattice and hitting Wu Xiaode.

Gjestastav sighed and shook her head:

"It's over, I've told you fairies are unreliable...sigh."

Wu Xiaode stood motionless.

The gray light suddenly shot out from his body, passing through the lattice again, and hitting the Eye Demon.

The Eye Demon let out a mournful cry, shuddered a few times, and then fell to the ground with a thud.

A line of ice crystal characters appeared subsequently:

"You are a World Class being, and this species has a natural and huge strength disparity with you."

"You've automatically activated the attribute: True Tough Guy."

"Description: Any power trying to kill you will form a Curse Seal and transfer randomly to a target with hostility towards you, can only be activated once a day."

"—Come and hit me."

"—Rebound!"

"The Eye Demon's soul and corpse will soon be received by your other attribute 'Law Transformation' into the world, converted into World Source Power, providing power for the evolution of the world's species."

"Additionally, killing this Eye Demon, which belongs to a chaotic evil faction, contributes to world peace."

"Extreme Good Angel has recorded Merit for this kill."

"Current Merit is: 5 points."

On the ground.

The body of the Eye Demon disappeared.

"Quite interesting," Wu Xiaode commented.

Maintaining world peace, earning Merit, and even promoting species evolution.

This Eye Demon is something special.

"Right? I think so too, it was really thrilling just now," Chris giggled.

"Bring another creature like that?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"But there are none left inside," Chris said with distress.

Wu Xiaode expressed regret.

He took out the key of light, inserted it in the lattice, and gently turned it.

The lattice instantly opened.

"Speaking of which, you're a master at hide-and-seek, so why did it find you?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"Because there's a type of delicious magic power lettuce in there that can only grow in places filled with sealing power, and it's really tasty—"

Chris took out a lettuce and said, "I was discovered while I was picking it."

"I see, thank you for making the trip, I'll prepare some extra vegetables for you when I go back and send them to Ning Shen Temple," Wu Xiaode said.

"That would be really nice, thank you!" Chris exclaimed joyfully.

As Wu Xiaode walked and talked, he suddenly sensed something was off, turned around, and looked outside the door.

There stood Gjestastav, frozen, with a look of disbelief.

"You are... the World Master?"

She asked.

"Right, thinking a Direct Death Light could kill a world seems a bit too ridiculous," Wu Xiaode said with a smile.

—Gjestastav's part of the soul seemed to have stayed here too long, filled with darkness and despair.

She needed a bit of sunlight.

Besides, trying to fight the World Master with ordinary magic almost held no chance of winning, unless—

The damage is fixed under conditions like "Fury."

"Let's go, come with me to find the last two pieces of the set,"

Wu Xiaode said.

"Ah, okay." Gjestastav's divided soul followed him.

Together, they traversed through a display room filled with various ancient armors, moving along a red-carpeted marble path.

At one moment.

Wu Xiaode suddenly noticed something awkward about the surrounding elements of all things.

He stopped walking, looked around, and turned a lamp beside the road to the other direction.

The mechanism was immediately triggered.

Boom—

A staircase extending downwards appeared before him and Gjestastav.

Wu Xiaode went down, only to discover that the staircase led to a frozen lake.

"Hidden quite well, the Dragon Clan indeed specializes in hiding things,"

He remarked, gesturing casually.

A block of ice floating in the lake immediately flew towards him, landing in his hand.

Encased within the ice was a pair of deep red boots.

"Gloomy Cryptic Boots."

"?????"

"—You must obtain the complete Ancient Dragon King Set to understand their use."

"Current number of pieces obtained: 5."

"Remaining pieces: 1."

Cloak, mask, Battle Armor, leg guards, boots.

Five pieces already!

Only one piece left to complete the entire Ancient Dragon King Set!

"Let's go, hurry and gather the last piece,"

Wu Xiaode said excitedly.

"Hold on," Gjestastav suddenly said.

"What is it?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"There are quite a few lives sealed in this underground ice lake, they look pitiful, you should rescue them,"

Gjestastav said.

Wu Xiaode looked down carefully.

He had accessed this pair of boots directly upon arrival because of his "Element Detection" ability.

He hadn't noticed, however, that indeed many black unicorns were sealed inside the ice lake.

—They were of the same species as that transforming serpent.

"You want me to save them?" Wu Xiaode asked.

"Yes, I only have a little soul left, I can't help them, so it's up to you," Gjestastav said with a desolate expression.

Wu Xiaode took a serious look at her.

He suddenly noticed a faint white light emitting from her, resembling—

The true Holy Light.

"Extreme Good, Judgement, I'll slightly open the world, help me check her Merit,"

Wu Xiaode silently transmitted.

Judgement Angel opened its eyes on the altar in the Temple, using the moment the world opened to glance at Gjestastav.

"Gjestastav's divided spirit carries all the past karma of Gjestastav, and her Merit is:"

"9999."
