Jiang Li had achieved some success in cultivating the "Yin Talisman Scripture."
Although the version of the cultivation technique he had obtained was over two hundred years old, lacking the parts about "Heavenly Action" and "Heavenly Dao," and the "Heavenly Dharma" was not as perfected as the magic door Ji Jiji currently possessed, after stealing the relevant insights, he had gained a deeper understanding.
Especially after his studies in "Form Tomb," his "Heavenly Dharma" became even more profound. The transformations of the Hui Lun were indistinguishable from the original, even the Qi Mechanism was exactly the same.
Then he covered the True Qi over the Cloud Clothes, drawing the talisman, altering the Cloud Clothes—now even the disguise was indistinguishable.
"Let's go."
He lightly kicked Xiao Tian with his leg, and Jiang Li said, "Do your job well, and naturally I will be there to block those two sides for you, you silly dog."
"Wang?" Xiao Tian raised its head, seemingly incredulous.
"What kind of look is that? Do you really think I'm the henpecked husband from Feng Manlou's place?" Jiang Li pressed a palm on the dog's head and rubbed it vigorously, "Or is it that you, you silly dog, have offended both sides and still think it's not enough, now you want to try offending me?"
"Woo—"
Xiao Tian woofed, shrinking its neck.
It had already accidentally offended both sides—if it offended Jiang Li as well, it, Xiao Tian, could be thrown into the pot.
Forget it, let's just assume he's the boss of this house.
Xiao Tian sniffed the Qi Mechanism, turned into a red shadow, and headed north, with Jiang Li naturally following closely behind.
A man and a dog entered Liangzhou Province, traveling northward, crossing over thousands of mountains and flying over various commanderies. The moisture in the air grew denser ahead—it must be approaching Peng'an County.
Although Wuzhiqi had already gone to become the flute-playing boy under Buddhist Zhen Ru, the breach in the Golden Dam had not yet been repaired. The water disaster in Liangzhou Province still existed, though it was not as severe as before.
The Taiping Sect had the Immortal of Colossal Spirit moving mountains and changing landscapes; they were now gradually gaining control of the water force, turning the water disaster to their own use. Peng'an County was now a frequent site of water disasters. Once Jiang Li sensed the rich water vapor, he thought of this place.
'The people from Buddha Country need to closely monitor the situation, settling near Peng'an County would be just right.'
He followed Xiao Tian, flying to the exterior of a large mountain, when suddenly Xiao Tian stopped and began to bark softly in the direction ahead.
"The Qi Mechanism stops here?"
Seeing this, Jiang Li immediately looked towards the mountain.
The area was rich with water vapor, rising upward and accumulating into rain clouds, the sky dark and gloomy, an atmosphere of biting cold pervading the place.
Yet, the mountain before them was somewhat out of the ordinary. Despite the desolation of winter, there was this different kind of serenity, reminiscent of a bamboo forest in spring—vast and distant.
'There must be Buddhist Practitioners staying here, and either they are mighty Buddhist strongmen or their numbers are exceedingly many.'
Jiang Li observed the Qi and silently practiced Divination. Suddenly, he stretched out a hand, picked up Xiao Tian, and then, using the "Outer Object Transformation," he manifested a White Dragon, which lifted him towards the large mountain.
As he approached within several zhang, the Buddha Light Holy Energy suddenly twisted the scenery ahead, sweeping away the gloomy weather, replaced by auspicious Buddha Light energy that unfolded in layers.
What had been a desolate mountain range now revealed an air of tranquility; vegetation thrived, bursting with life, and on the peaks and at the base stood one divine Buddhist figure after another. Upon closer inspection, these were the External Dharma Forms of cultivators from the Buddha Country.
Using the Summoning Technique, these cultivators from the Buddha Country cultivated their External Dharma Form by gathering Incense Fire Thought Power. In their temples stood identical statues for people to worship. Now that they had manifested their External Dharma Forms, they really seemed to be embodiments of the divine; towering Dharma Manifestations stood solemnly, making this place resemble an earthly Buddha Land.
Jiang Li descended to the foothills, and immediately two formidable figures approached to meet him.
The two men had a faint golden hue to their skin and stood nearly three meters tall, with bulging muscles and draped in wide monk's robes; they closely resembled the Yellow Turban Warriors of the Taiping Sect.
In fact, they were also Powerful Warriors but of the Buddha Country called Vajra Warriors, of Seventh Rank, a grade higher than the Eighth Rank Yellow Turban Warriors.
Both Vajra Warriors looked robust and imposing, even their facial features were quite similar. Upon seeing Jiang Li, they greeted him with palms pressed together and said in unison, "Greetings, Dragon Subduing Arhat."
'So the fifth-rank Hui Lun was elevated to the rank of Dragon Subduing Arhat Dao Fruit.' Jiang Li thought to himself.
The Dragon Subduing Arhat was not ordinary; of the supposed Eighteen Arhats, there were initially only sixteen, with Dragon Subduing and Tiger Conquering added later, both with significant origins. The actual presence of Dragon Subduing Arhat was Kasyapa, one of the Buddha's disciples, and as Jiang Li knew, this revered figure was of fourth-rank.
That is to say, the fifth-rank Dragon Subduing Arhat and the fourth-rank Kasyapa were from the same lineage.
Moreover, among the respected figures of Buddhism, Kasyapa and Anan held extraordinary positions as attendants before the Buddha. When the Awakened was at fourth-rank, the Dao Fruit he contained was that of Anan.
That Hui Lun could contain the Dragon Subduing Arhat spoke volumes of the Awakened's expectations for him.
'However, it seems from Hui Lun's bearing that he has strayed from the Awakened's expectations, fearing the disappointment the Awakened may feel towards him.'
As various thoughts flashed through his mind, Jiang Li said with a spring in his demeanor, "Lead the way."
With the Heavenly Escape Sword Skill and the Heart Demon Secret Sword at his disposal and the Emperor's Qi Observation Skill to see through spirits with Qi, he could clearly tell that these two Vajra Warriors held no suspicion and seemed to have been awaiting him. So he spoke the most appropriate words.
Upon hearing this, the Vajra Warrior on the left immediately said, "The White Lotus Saint Mother Bodhisattva is waiting for the return of the Dragon Subduing Arhat, please."
This Warrior led the way forward, walking up the mountain with steady steps, while the other continued to stand guard in his place.
The mountain path underfoot had been leveled into a gentle stairway slope; a faint mist of Buddha's energy wrapped around it, and after about half an hour of one following the other, a spacious platform appeared ahead, lined with Dharma Manifestations. Figures sat cross-legged in the air before each Dharma Manifestation.
These cultivators of the Buddha Country were indeed proficient in the art of divine manifestation; although the assembly was an internal affair, they projected Dharma Manifestations, making the place resemble a grand gathering on Spirit Mountain.
Each Dharma Manifestation was of fifth-rank, belonging to the rank of Arhat, totaling about a dozen individuals. Among them were the Happy Arhat and Tota Arhat Jiang Li had seen before, arrayed on each side.
And in the central position stood an amiable female Dharma Manifestation, beneath which a White Lotus blossomed, with a female Bodhisattva seated within.
With a Coiled Dragon Bun atop her head and dressed in a Su Luo Robe, her brows were like crescent moons, her eyes like twin stars, expressing a compassionate sadness and exuding an ethereal aura, embracing like the void. This mountain's Buddha Light Holy Energy emanated from this female Bodhisattva alone; a halo of auspicious Qi condensed into lotuses around her, appearing and disappearing intermittently, with distant and prolonged chants of praise, layer upon layer, as if thousands were worshiping, reciting in unison:
"Lifeless Mother, True Void Home."
'Such a powerful Incense Fire Thought Power.' Jiang Li was moved.
The Qi Mechanism of the female Bodhisattva herself was cloaked by the magnificent incense, and the intensity of that Incense Fire Thought Power certainly surpassed anyone Jiang Li had seen involved in this art, including the Four Gods of Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning from the Taiping Sect as well as the previously encountered Eight Heavenly Dragons and Guangli Bodhisattva.
On the strength of that incense alone, it was comparable to the Power of any fourth-rank practitioner.
