Immortal Creed

Chapter 125: Goblin

Lucrezia, feeling the surging emotions of most of the team behind her, withdrew the magic from her hand and a mysterious smile appeared on her face.

This fire, after all, had finally ignited…

"We're outside the city, and it's very dangerous out here… Everyone be careful and avoid being ambushed by monsters."

Lucrezia spoke to awaken the silent crowd, while also reminding them of the purpose of their trip.

Hearing this, everyone finally remembered the purpose of the extermination operation and recalled that the monsters outside the city were not just pigs and sheep to be slaughtered at will.

So, they all drew their longswords and vigilantly observed their surroundings.

However, monsters are not irrational creatures.

Facing such a large group of well-equipped and formidable-looking humans, they naturally kept their distance.

Therefore, although they were vigilant about the movements around them, after walking for a long time, they hadn't even seen a single Goblin.

As for this situation, Lucrezia had naturally anticipated it.

So, from the moment they left the city, the direction of this team's advance had not changed.

After walking for another while, they finally saw a large Goblin stronghold.

"Kill!"

Lucrezia shouted the murderous command with her captivating voice.

Upon hearing the order, the soldiers, who had been holding back the entire way, charged forward, rushing towards the Goblin stronghold not far away.

The stronghold was large, like an abandoned village that had been occupied by Goblins.

Those tall or short green figures moved through the abandoned passages and houses.

The smoke rising from within the stronghold added a touch of life to this deserted village.

As for their sudden appearance, the Goblins were also a bit bewildered.

What's going on? How could so many humans with weapons be rushing towards them?

However, despite their confusion, when faced with the invasion, the Goblins still picked up their weapons and put on fierce expressions.

They also charged towards Liens's army.

Liens took the lead, widening the distance from the others, and was the first to rush to the front of the Goblin ranks.

A silver light flashed, and gushing blood splattered all around.

A Goblin's head, with a bewildered expression, spun in mid-air before rolling onto the ground, raising a bit of dust.

Without hesitation, Liens swung his sword again, severing the arm of a Goblin that attacked him.

"Ah!"

It screamed, its broken arm, still clutching a wooden stick, sprayed blood and, carried by inertia, crashed into the surrounding Goblins.

But soon, its scream stopped.

The longsword, like an afterimage, sliced across its throat, taking away its last sound.

But compared to the previous Goblin, it was still lucky, because at least it screamed, didn't it?

Ignoring the two Goblins he had instantly killed, Liens, like a god of slaughter, charged into the Goblin ranks, stirring up waves of bloody carnage.

He constantly dodged the Goblins' attacks with perilous movements, his sword, swift as the wind, continuously swung.

Every swing of his sword meant the demise of a Goblin.

Red blood, accompanied by green bodies, every step Liens took was like paving a path of death for the Goblins.

Gradually, the green figures that had been surrounding Liens began to disperse.

The surrounding Goblins looked timidly at the figure stained red with their comrades' blood, and the Goblins in the front row retreated, wanting to get away from this god of slaughter.

This scene stunned the others who had just rushed over.

So, there was such a powerful figure hidden among us.

Gars looked at his roommate, who was almost completely soaked in blood, and felt a sense of unfamiliarity, yet at the same time, he felt a sense of familiarity.

Perhaps he knew who it was.

No wonder the voice was so familiar… What kind of voice is common? It's all just fooling people!

Gars felt like crying without tears; the thought that he was in the same dormitory as such a god of slaughter and often teased him made him feel a chill down his spine…

He kept recalling if he had offended Liens anywhere? Had his tone been too harsh when speaking?

Liens ignored the gazes of the others and the Goblins.

Since he said he would fully display his strength for Lucrezia to see, he naturally would no longer hold back.

Moreover, slaughter was precisely what he enjoyed.

Having been constantly frustrated by Lucrezia, it had been a long time since he had engaged in such widespread slaughter.

He felt incredibly exhilarated now, so much so that he wanted to keep killing.

With this thought, Liens continued to charge towards the Goblins who wanted to distance themselves from him, his swinging longsword once again bringing forth severed limbs.

Perhaps unable to bear seeing Liens so arrogantly slaughtering Goblins, a tall figure emerged from among the short Goblins.

It was about two meters tall, with bulging muscles and a fierce face, wearing what looked like crudely made human steel armor, and holding a large saber in its hand.

"Oh, an elite individual… Hmm, I remember it was called something like an Ogre."

Liens glanced at the large figure not far away, thinking to himself.

However, even with the Ogre's appearance, Liens's movements did not stop.

He continued to reap the Life of those timid Goblins with his afterimage-like longsword.

"Roar!"

Seeing Liens so utterly disregard him, the Ogre let out a furious roar.

Then, it gripped the large saber with both hands and, with immense force, like Mount Tai pressing down, it chopped down towards Liens.

Liens was well aware of his own strength, so he dodged the Ogre's chop.

However, while Liens could easily dodge, it didn't mean the Goblins around him could.

The large saber, carrying immense power, directly split the Goblin's body like chopping firewood, and gushing blood once again stained the large saber red.

"Ah…"

The Ogre roared in anger, completely ignoring its slain kin, and continued to sweep its saber horizontally towards Liens's position.

The same result occurred again, and several more Goblins were slain by their own leader.

Next, Liens continued to bait the Ogre, making it constantly attack and kill its own kin.

It wasn't until a clearing was forcibly created around them, and the Ogre, somewhat out of breath after multiple swings of its saber, finally stopped.

"Hmm? Finished? That's it?"

Liens said to the Ogre with a contemptuous tone.

Perhaps it could understand human language, or perhaps that tone also carried a very irritating meaning in Goblin language.

So, upon hearing Liens's words, the Ogre roared in fury and launched another attack.

And facing the Ogre's attack, Liens, who had completely figured out its pattern, was too lazy to play with it anymore.

Liens turned his body, dodging the blade of the large saber by a hair's breadth, then stepped in close, swung his sword downwards, and cut the Ogre's Achilles tendon.

As its body became unstable and it tilted forward, kneeling, its head was within easy reach for Liens.

Swing the sword!

Liens calmly delivered a lightning-fast slash, cutting the Ogre's throat.

Subsequently, it, like its kin he had slain, fell onto the blood-stained ground.
