Jimmy: "Make a copy for me, I haven't seen the complete video yet. You should know where to send it."
Vagrant: "No problem, I'll handle it. Stop up ahead."
Jimmy parked the car under an overpass, "Where?"
The vagrant pointed to a building diagonally opposite, "That used to be a power distribution station, it's abandoned now, our people saw the man from the photo you gave us go inside."
Jimmy: "Are you sure they're inside?"
The vagrant nodded, pointed at another vagrant across, who was half-reclined in the corner, beside him was a typical vagrant's cart with all his belongings, "He's been here for a long time, definitely saw him."
Jimmy nodded: "I'll go check it out."
After getting out of the car, Jimmy straightened his suit, pulled out a cigarette box, lit one, and walked over slowly.
The abandoned power station wasn't large, it was easy to scan through the inside and confirm there were four people, two sitting on a sofa, another sitting on a chair, and one more walking around on the second floor, the one on the second floor seemed to be a woman because of the distinct shape of the hair.
Jimmy circled the power station, it was unfortunate there were no low windows, the whole place looked like a warehouse building, with only ventilation windows above, if you didn't enter through the main door, you wouldn't see the people inside.
Jimmy looked around, there was a car parked near the power station, connecting the dots with them ditching Peter's car, they must have gotten another car, and this one likely was their backup vehicle.
Jimmy noted the license plate, took out his phone, and called Jones: "Jones, help me check a license plate right now, NYC-DR34M."
Jones: "Alright, give me two minutes."
After a while, Jones called back: "Found it, this car was reported stolen two hours ago, estimated time of loss was in the morning. Did you find their location?"
Jimmy: "Possibly. This car should be the one they got after ditching Peter's."
Jones: "I'll bring the team over now, the SWAT team has been alerted, they're ready to deploy anytime."
Jimmy: "Remember to bring breaching tools, this abandoned power station has no windows, we'll have to breach through the door."
After giving the address, he returned to his car, gestured to the vagrant in the passenger seat, "I've confirmed it, you can go back now. The reward will be sent to Bowery King by the hotel."
The vagrant got out of the car, nodded to Jimmy, and left the area in the opposite direction. As he walked, he pulled out his phone, calling the vagrant across the road, telling him to leave quickly too.
This was a wise man, knowing the FBI was going to act here, he better not get involved, even watching could pose risks, whether accidental injury or being considered a witness, for them it was a hassle to be avoided, keeping away from official sight as much as possible.
Jimmy stood beside his car, watching the vagrant across start packing up, understanding their intention, now that the lead was confirmed, naturally, they were leaving the area.
Half an hour later, Jones and the SWAT team finally arrived, it couldn't be helped, it was right in the middle of rush hour, traffic wasn't good.
Jones: "Jimmy, are you sure?"
Jimmy nodded, "That old warehouse-like building, it was a power station before, it's abandoned now, they're inside."
Jones: "Can the intel be submitted?"
Jimmy: "Someone saw Nate from the robbery case go in and not come out. Informant-provided intelligence, can be registered but cannot testify."
Jones: "That's enough. Captain Gallo, are you ready?"
Jones glanced at the SWAT captain next to him, a standard six-man team, shields and hydraulic bolt cutters in two people's hands, everyone checked, "Go ahead."
Jimmy: "Jones, you stay outside to block others, I'll lead them in."
Jones shook his head: "Let's go in together."
The SWAT team quietly advanced to the door in formation, clamp on the lock, the captain nodded, cut through the lock with force, shields up front, others behind, they pushed up the rolling door and entered directly.
The SWAT team advanced while shouting: "FBI! Don't move, drop the gun."
Jimmy wasn't at the very back; he was right beside the shield, "Bang, bang," the person standing inside just turned their head to the front door and raised their gun; Jimmy had already fired twice, taking him down directly.
The other target was upstairs; Jimmy aimed his gun at the metal stairs, repositioning his feet, and when the target appeared in sight, he fired immediately. "Bang," the woman upstairs took a hit too, cried out, then collapsed.
"Don't shoot, don't shoot, damn it, Jimmy, stop."
Peter was sitting on the sofa; when he heard the SWAT yell "FBI," he dove onto Elizabeth, falling onto the sofa, then turned to look at the newcomers, but his reaction was still slow; by the time he saw clearly who came in, Jimmy had taken down both robbers.
Jimmy shouted loudly: "Clear." Then he approached Peter, reaching out to pull him and Elizabeth up, took out a small knife, and cut the ties around their wrists, "Peter, Elizabeth, how are you? Any injuries?"
Peter gritted his teeth, looking at Jimmy, and ultimately refrained from saying words he shouldn't, "We're fine, not injured, Jones, Dian, get help immediately."
Jones went to check on the male robber Nate, Diana went upstairs to check on the female robber Penny, SWAT members lowered their weapons wordlessly at Jimmy, and Captain Gallo said helplessly: "Jimmy, if you pull this stunt again, we won't come next time."
Jimmy chuckled, "Sorry, Captain Gallo, with Peter's life hanging in the balance, got a little anxious. When do you guys get off work today? Drinks are on me."
Captain Gallo shrugged, "You said it. Move out."
The SWAT team left helplessly; they had entirely acted as tools, just came to pick a lock, and then witnessed Jimmy perfectly taking down two robbers/kidnappers.
Jones came over, shook his head at Peter, "I called an ambulance, but it seems unlikely for him; both shots were to the chest."
Peter: "Diana, how are things upstairs?"
Diana called out from upstairs: "This one is okay, should be fine if the ambulance arrives quickly."
Peter looked at Jimmy: "Jimmy, thank you."
Jimmy smiled and said: "No problem."
Elizabeth walked over to Jimmy and gave him a hug, "Thank you."
Jimmy: "No worries, but it looks like your weekend getaway is spoiled."
Jones's phone rang, he answered it, "Neil, we've rescued Peter and Elizabeth.... Yeah, head back to the office."
After hanging up, Jones said to Peter: "Neil and the team figured out the robber's third heist target, but it seems pointless now."
Peter: "Oh? Where did they figure?"
Jones: "Moon Rock, Nate mentioned in his letter about getting a star for Penny, the moon counts as a star, right?"
Peter nodded, looking at Elizabeth: "Neil and team are reliable; yes, their target was the Queens Science Museum, where there's a Moon Rock Fragment, planned to start tomorrow morning."
Jimmy: "Alright, let's save detailed analysis for later. Peter, you need to consider how to communicate with the higher-ups now. Your kidnapping incident has reached management."
Jones: "Yes, the director sent someone to find me, but I stalled them."
Peter nodded: "I understand, let's return to the office together later."
This was truly troublesome; initially, because Peter's team investigated the Senator, which led Hughes to retire, and now he's been kidnapped, creating a big mess before an external supervisor takes office; if not handled well, it would be a problem later.
