The servants and the like were of no interest to Jimmy, and he didn't want to slaughter these defenseless people, so he didn't go back to the backyard. After replacing the magazine in his Glock, there weren't many people left in the main building, and considering the intense gunfire earlier, the fact that none of his people had come inside to report meant they probably realized their security was in dire straits.
Jimmy looked up at the people in the house; a few were scattered across different rooms, seemingly aiming their weapons at the doors. There was one person crouching at the top of the stairs on the second floor, probably planning to defend the staircase. From his position, he could oversee the entire foyer, including the front door—a skilled man, far superior to ordinary gang members.
This situation was advantageous for Jimmy. If they had all gathered together, it would have increased his pressure. He didn't enter through the front door but instead headed towards the side kitchen. The chef had locked himself in a room next to the kitchen, which seemed to be a storeroom. That was fine by him.
Jimmy didn't bother with the storeroom door but instead went straight through the kitchen hallway into the living room. Using Heart Eye to pinpoint the second-floor gunman's position, Jimmy fired a shot from downstairs through the gaps of the staircase handrail, hitting the shooter, who fell to the ground in pain and then sat up, sliding backward with his feet, his gun still aimed at the staircase.
The shot had hit the torso, which didn't affect the man's arms; thus, he wasn't completely incapacitated. Jimmy made sure he wouldn't come down the stairs and no longer bothered with him, moving along the first floor's corridor towards another room. A man of average adult size crouched behind an office desk, aiming a handgun at the door.
Jimmy, standing to the side, twisted the doorknob and opened the door; "bang bang" went the gunfire, the bullets hitting the door and the adjacent wall. Seeing the man fumbling to reload, Jimmy pushed the door open, fired a shot, and then stepped away from the doorway.
There was only this man on the first floor; everyone else was upstairs, including the children. That room was most troublesome—two adults and a child—Jimmy didn't want to start there.
Heading to the stairs, the gunman was now leaning against the wall, his left hand on his chest side, right hand still aiming the pistol at the stairs. This was a capable man, seriously injured yet still tough enough to guard the passage.
Jimmy ascended the stairs, raising his handgun halfway up to fire overhead, using Heart Eye's assistance to kill the man instantly, freeing him from his pain.
Jimmy walked up to the second floor, looking at the man lying on the floor. He was different from the other security outside; he was dressed in a full suit, including a vest and tie, regardless of the still-hot weather.
Jimmy looked towards the room with the child but decided to let it be, turning towards another room. Inside was a guy with tattoos on his face, but he wasn't his target Barrio, so he ended him with a single shot, without any intention of questioning.
Ensuring there was no movement in the room, Jimmy then went up to the third floor, where there were two more people.
Jimmy gently pushed the door; it was locked. He figured the two were crouched on the other side of the bed and kicked the door open with two kicks.
"*...&%...don't shoot!"
Well, he couldn't understand the beginning, but he understood the English part.
"Raise your hands and stand up." Jimmy wanted to confirm if it was Barrio.
"Don't shoot, I'm unarmed."
The man raised his hands, revealing his face from beside the bed, "Who are you?"
"Domingo, spare me, I'm not from around here."
Jimmy: "Your identity."
"My father is the mayor, the mayor of New Laredo."
"Pfft," Jimmy didn't wait for him to finish. This man was trouble, and he didn't spare the woman next to him either; after he spoke, he was heard.
Only one room left on the second floor, Jimmy eyed it, slowly making his way there.
Jimmy knocked on the door, deliberately lowering his voice, "Barrio, come out, let's talk."
The three people inside didn't move. Jimmy added, "I don't want to harm the child, come out."
One person stood up: "What about the people outside?"
Jimmy: "Those who could fight back are all dead."
Barrio: "I'll go with you, let them go." After speaking, Barrio walked towards the door. Jimmy returned to the staircase landing, his gun aimed at the door. Barrio, with empty raised hands, walked out.
Jimmy motioned to go downstairs, and Barrio silently followed, walking down to the living room on the first floor.
Barrio sat on a stool, not on the couch, "Hope you keep your word, you can ask now."
Jimmy: "Did you call for backup?"
Barrio nodded, "You have at most 10 minutes, they're probably already on their way."
Jimmy: "Who is your collaborator in the United States?"
Barrio: "CIA, Ryan Hawkins. But he hasn't been contactable for a long time."
Jimmy: "Now?"
Barrio: "Uncertain, no specific person, market expansion is handled by Tim, I can give you his location."
Jimmy: "So cooperative?"
Barrio: "I knew this day would come, I've been waiting for it. I can give you everything you want in exchange for one child's life, my son's."
Jimmy: "That'll depend on how you perform. What about your underwater channel? Such channels are beyond your capability."
