North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 651: Let's do it on April 19 once more

All preparations were made, and Ruiz walked into the Homicide Team, "Hey, Mahong."

Mahong, "Hey, Ruiz, take a seat. What's up?"

Ruiz, "I need to borrow someone; I have a case that requires Jimmy's assistance."

Mahong looked at Jimmy, and Jimmy looked at Ruiz, What's the matter? Borrowing someone so openly.

Ruiz, "Jimmy, we're handling the Azte case."

Jimmy nodded, "When?"

Ruiz, "Action at five in the morning the day after tomorrow, gathering tomorrow night."

Jimmy, "OK. Mahong?"

Mahong nodded, "No problem, go ahead."

Borrowing someone was not a big issue; after all, they were originally part of the Support Team.

The next day, since there was an operation in the evening, Jimmy rested during the day and drove to the office in the evening to meet up. Today he was supporting Ruiz, so he didn't need to be so formal; he simply wore jeans and sneakers. Of course, he still carried three guns, the Python and the 1875 in shoulder holsters, and the Glock in a waist holster. The only difference this time was the ammunition, because it was a gang raid to ensure enough bullets, aside from the spare ones in the holsters, he also brought a box of .357 Magnum, expecting to use the Python quite a bit today.

Jimmy arrived at Ruiz's office, and they left together heading to the Azte base in Brooklyn, near Queens, within a mixed community with Black, Latin American, and White people, most without much money.

It was exactly such a chaotic area that allowed them to hide without being directly wiped out or taken over by other gangs. The poorer and more chaotic it was, the truer it was in reverse; as chaos increased, those with a bit of money would leave, and the scum slowly gathered.

The surveillance team wasn't located near the base since being too close could lead to being spotted—not in terms of their identities, but harassed by others.

The first half of the night was for preparation; Ruiz and Jimmy came to the surveillance van, quietly installing cameras outside the Azte base and planting bugs in the corners of their building. Although the distance was a bit long, through relays, they could still see and hear the activities on the other side.

With bullet-proof vests and guns ready in the van, all that was left was waiting. SWAT wouldn't come earlier; they needed to support the whole of New York and were relatively busy. They wouldn't waste too much time waiting and would probably come later.

Perhaps fate was working against them, at dawn Ruiz received a call, SWAT couldn't come; they were tied up supporting an operation outside the Hudson River Valley office of the New York State FBI in Manhattan and other locations, unexpectedly delaying their arrival.

Ruiz looked at Jimmy, "Let's cancel today's plan and come back another time, Jimmy, you can go home now."

Jimmy was speechless; almost the whole day was wasted here only to be canceled..."Let's do it, just with these folks."

Ruiz frowned at Jimmy, "Are you sure? There are at least eleven or twelve people inside."

Jimmy, "Just lower your expectations a bit, and add a few more for arrests. No recording, no talking about it, you folks."

The three people from the surveillance team who had been turning to look at them, suddenly turned back to their screens, seriously putting on their headphones, rather than just wearing one as before.

Ruiz closed his eyes to think, then opened them, "I'll call some more duty officers over, we still have enough time. Our priority is to ensure our own safety, we have plenty of time, and we don't care if it's finished today."
