North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 577: 390 Also Known as "The Butcher

Jimmy, while focusing on the battlefield ahead, moved behind the sideways police car but still adhered to safety rules, always sheltering near the wheel hub, a spot absolutely impenetrable by pistols and regular rifles.

Jimmy: "FBI Special Agent Jimmy, who can tell me what's going on here? I was just passing by."

A police officer in front of Jimmy raised his hand and fired two shots, clearly firing at random without aiming properly.

"Armored car robbery. We spotted two of the robber's vehicles; others haven't arrived yet. During their escape, one vehicle lost control and crashed into the tanker ahead, then they got out and started shooting at us. FK!"

The officer fired two more random shots, as bullets from one of the robbers hit near his foot, causing gravel to fly up and sting his leg.

Jimmy didn't shoot, he still needed more clarification: "Are all the people across robbers?"

Without looking at Jimmy, the officer quietly glanced forward: "Yes, we were chasing the overturned vehicle, but it crashed while speeding, and the other vehicle also stopped. They are together." He pressed the radio, "Need backup, need backup, how long till they arrive?"

The dispatch center responded through the radio, "Backup is on the way, expected in less than 10 minutes."

Jimmy looked ahead, within his 'Heart Eye' range, about 30 meters ahead where the tanker had toppled, the explosion had been from this tanker, which was luckily empty, filled only with gasoline vapors and not full of liquid gasoline, so even though it ignited, it hadn't caused irreparable damage.

However, the robbers weren't so lucky; Jimmy could see two men lying behind the overturned vehicle, now engaging in a shootout with five robbers and four police officers from two police cars.

The robbers had two rifles, sounding like M16s, one of which seemed to be fully automatic. The other three were using pistols, which to Jimmy, didn't pose much of a problem.

"I'm out of bullets," one police officer yelled, followed by another near Jimmy.

Well, their previous firing style hadn't spared any bullets, relying solely on barrage fire that allowed Jimmy to come from a distance; otherwise, they might have been taken out already.

"I have a magazine, take it." Jimmy pulled out a spare Glock magazine from his holster and tossed it to another officer behind the police car, who had just yelled about being out of bullets. Magazines were universal, as long as the police used Glocks.

"Bang Bang!" Jimmy raised his hand and double-tapped, hitting a rifle-carrying robber in the arm. Unfortunately, it was the only part exposed, and if they wanted a live capture without shooting the head, the arm was the only option to disarm him.

Jimmy shifted position slightly, directly facing the robbers where stray bullets could easily come. He moved from behind one vehicle to the side of another, firing diagonally at the robbers, deliberately avoiding aiming at their heads to spare some of them for the police.

Regrettably, due to the distance, Jimmy had not seen them wearing Bullet-Proof Vests earlier, which made the shots he aimed at their bodies almost ineffective, causing them just brief pain.

"FK! Bullet-Proof Vests are regulated, how does every robber have one?" Fortunately, it appeared they wore only the soft type without steel plates.

Jimmy reholstered his Glock and drew an M686, took a deep breath, crouched behind the car watching them, and after marking all targets with 'Heart Eye', he quickly stood up and fired six shots in just over a second, silencing the spotty gunfire from the robbers' side completely.

"Cease fire! Cease fire!" Jimmy looked at his handiwork and shouted, "Suspects down, cease fire!"

The four officers then stopped shooting, peeked from behind the cars, and then turned towards Jimmy to the side.

"The suspects are down, we should call the backup to hurry for the capture. Be careful, they're not all dead." Jimmy refilled his revolver and put it back in his holster. Moving back to the side of the police car, Jimmy told the officer who took his magazine, "Please return my magazine."

The officer had just peered at the suspect's position before turning and sitting on the ground exhausted, leaning against the car. Now that Jimmy came to ask for the magazine, he pressed the magazine release catch, caught the magazine, and handed it to Jimmy: "Thank you, much appreciated."

Jimmy smiled, took back the magazine, and slipped it into his holster. "How long till your backup arrives?"

"Almost here." The officer picked his own magazine off the ground, reloading it into his duty belt and Glock. "May I ask who you are?"

Jimmy pulled out his ID from his inner pocket, showed it briefly, then put it away: "FBI Special Agent Jimmy Yang, I was just passing by. Don't worry, I'll wait until your people arrive."

After speaking, Jimmy looked back towards the suspects; there were no standing individuals left, just two still twitching on the ground, as he had intentionally not killed all, leaving a couple alive.

The four officers, three of whom still had bullets, not plenty but enough to monitor and prevent those left from leaving, faced only one problem now: they didn't have enough strength to move forward and capture them. They lacked bullet-proof shields, sufficient personnel, and bullets for another battle, but having achieved this much was already fortunate.
