North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 564: 384 Bad luck is coming

Nia looked around and didn't notice anything unusual, so she simply took the opportunity to go to the restroom to take a stroll through the economy class. This time they were on a 737, a medium-sized airliner, with first class situated between the cockpit and economy class. The cockpit and first class shared one restroom, and there were two more restrooms at the very back of the economy class, which was a bit far away.

Although Nia was young, she had been a Patrol Officer for two years and had some skill in observing people. Just one round trip, and she leaned close to Jimmy, who was sitting beside her, and excitedly whispered, "I've spotted three potential targets. Definitely, one of them is an air marshal or an agent."

Nia's voice wasn't loud, but since there were only a few in the first class, the suspected agent heard her. He didn't turn his head to look directly at Nia and Jimmy. Instead, he moved his head slightly and observed them using his peripheral vision.

Fortunately, Jimmy had been watching him. An agent who could afford first class wasn't simple, either with high rank, able to go through the normal reimbursement process, or rich, enjoying the comforts of a few hours' journey on their own dime, just like Jimmy.

Nia's words clearly put him on alert, but for now, he didn't seem to have any intention of taking action.

Jimmy took out a notepad and pen from his pocket and gave it to Nia. No matter the time, Jimmy always carried paper and pen, a habit formed over three-plus years. A palm-sized notepad and short pen, taking up little space and convenient to carry.

Nia drew the positions of the three individuals she had noticed on the notepad and softly explained to Jimmy her reasons for noticing them.

All three men were middle-aged, around 40, two white, one black, and all were seated on both sides of the middle aisle, which made it easier for them to move around.

When Nia went to the back, the majority of the people were resting normally or listening to music with headphones on. A few engaged in soft conversations with the person next to them. During Nia's round trip, they all observed the other passengers, and of course, they paid more attention to Nia as she moved.

As air marshals, keeping an eye on all passengers on the plane and preventing any issues was their duty.

Jimmy smiled as he listened to Nia slowly marking positions on the notepad, while he kept an eye on the armed agent. Although he appeared to be resting with his eyes closed, his stiff posture and the way his right hand seemed ready to draw his gun gave away his tension.

Jimmy felt very sorry for the guy. He had only meant to tease Nia a bit and give her something fun to do, but now it seemed Nia was quite pleased, while also causing considerable trouble for others.

After Nia finished, Jimmy whispered in her ear, "Wait here for a minute. I'm going to have a look."

Having said that, he stood up and walked towards the economy class. After going to the restroom at the back again, Jimmy stopped an air hostess, showed his credentials, and asked, "FBI Agent Jimmy Yang, how may I address you?"

The air hostess looked at Jimmy, puzzled, "Julian, how can I assist you?"

Jimmy, "My seat is in first class 2J. Could you help me figure out who the person in 1C is?"

The air hostess's eyes widened with a startled expression, "Is there a problem?"

Jimmy quickly motioned with his hands for her to calm down, "Stay calm, don't get agitated. I just find him very unnatural and want to understand the situation. You have a passenger list, right? Let me have a look."

The air hostess's hands trembled slightly as she took down the passenger list from the cabin wall. Jimmy glanced at it, Bill Gates.

Jimmy, "OK, I'll keep an eye on him. I'm in first class too. Don't worry, nothing will happen." Jimmy opened his suit jacket to reveal the gun holster on his belt, that was the very essence of security.

As Jimmy was about to walk away, he paused and said, "You know I'm right up front. If there's anything that needs my attention, please come to the front to call me. Goodbye, Julian." Jimmy smiled at the air hostess and then left the rear service area, heading towards first class.

As Jimmy passed through the economy class, he scanned the passengers there twice, ruling out two of the three individuals Nia had mentioned. They didn't carry guns, and they seemed very relaxed. If they were air marshals, they weren't doing a very good job.

The only one who couldn't be ruled out was a middle-aged white man, who, like Jimmy, had a gun holster hanging on his right side. The shape of the gun wasn't visible, but from the way it was carried, he was almost certainly a Federation law enforcement officer, though the specific agency was unclear.

Jimmy didn't bother to closely watch the other passengers. He and Nia were among the first to board, and he had already had a good look at the others as they boarded, noticing no irregularities at that time, and now he didn't feel like checking again.

Returning to his seat, Nia asked, "How did it go?"

Jimmy shook his head with a smile. Nia pouted and leaned back in her seat. Jimmy, "Would you like something to drink?"

Nia, "Let me think, Gin."

Jimmy summoned the air hostess at the front of the first class and ordered a Gin for Nia. He wasn't so lucky, having to settle for a bottle of mineral water.

After watching the air hostess walk away, Nia said, "Why don't you have a drink? We have over five hours to fly."

Jimmy replied with a wry smile, "I can't. According to the regulations, we are not allowed to drink any alcoholic beverages while carrying a weapon on an airplane."

Nia looked at Jimmy in surprise, "I didn't know there was such a regulation?"
